First time trying boba in The Netherlands! I thought it was pretty good…read more YoYo has locations all around, I actually first stumbled across their stall when visiting Rotterdam. Didn't make a stop at first because I honestly did not have high expectations, and to me it was like a "I traveled all the way here just to drink something I already have at home" kind of thought. But I stumbled across the store in Amsterdam after having dinner, and caved in. So the branding and the aesthetics of the place remind me of Yogurtland.. Same color scheme and everything, down to the green leaf. The space is clean and inviting, but kind of "cluttered" with a bunch of merchandise and non-food items stacked everywhere. The menu is on the smaller side, with a handful of milk teas to choose from, and a few iced teas. Other menu options include coffee, yogurt , and snacks. If boba isn't your thing, the topping bar also has popping boba, lychee, and other jellies. We went with a regular milk tea and a Jasmine Milk Tea. The drinks I believe were customizable, you can request a certain sugar level depending on how sweet you want it. No complains for the tea, it was flavorful and made to our liking. The boba had a good consistency, I liked how chewy it was without being mushy. Not too many complaints for YoYo. Maybe they could add more menu options, and they were a little skimpy when it came to filling the cup with boba and tea. But it was pleasant, glad The Netherlands has a decent boba shop for everyone to enjoy.

I love bubble tea so I was curious to see how bubble tea would be in Amsterdam. I got the medium…read morehot taro with boba. I get a hot taro all the time during the winter, but this was definitely one of the worst ones I've had. It tasted really powdery still, like they didn't mix it enough and the bubbles were too sweet. Also, it's kind of weird that they put the hot drink in a plastic cup instead of a paper one.

They got extra points for being open on a Sunday at 10am, as I always struggle with caffeine after noon, which severely limits my boba options. I showed up at 10 and they already had the tapioca cooked and ready to go. Very quick and nice service, my two drinks beautifully packaged in a lovely bag to take home.

I stumbled upon it while waiting for my hotel next door to be ready, and I'm really glad I did. It's a quiet, relaxed spot that makes for a great break during a day of exploring Amsterdam. What I Ordered Matcha Latte with Boba I was excited to see that they use ceremonial grade matcha, and I believe they hand-whisk it as well (though I forgot to confirm--it's shown on their Instagram). The drink itself was incredibly satisfying. The Experience This was exactly what I was craving. The matcha latte struck a perfect balance--creamy without being heavy, slightly nutty, and most importantly, it tasted like quality matcha. The boba was a fun addition, and it all came together beautifully. Final Thoughts Tea Kee is definitely worth a stop if you're in Amsterdam or just visiting. It offers the kind of well-prepared matcha drink that's surprisingly hard to find--even in places known for matcha culture. Dare I say, it's better than a lot of spots I've tried back in the Bay Area? Overall: 4.5/5

A-Fusion is A+++ I…read morehad dinner with a colleague at A-Fusion. We decided to play a bit of roulette for dinner and asked the staff to help make selections for us based on what they felt was a "must-have." Needless to say - she knew her stuff. The food was blend of creative beauty and amazing taste sized for folks to try a few different things. I don't remember that menu names for everything, but I do know that I'd have no shame on my next visit by pulling up this review to show my pics and ask for the same stuff again. We literally enjoyed every single thing we had. The place is impressive. As you walk up, you'll stumble upon their repetitive Michelin cards displayed at the front window. Based on the taste and experience, they were well earned. Surprisingly, the tab at the end of the meal was not expensive -- I thought the value was worth it. The place has a trendy feel to it. If you decide to check it out, your best bet is to make a reservation. It seemed to fill up with people before we finished. I'm in Amsterdam regularly for work - this place earned a spot in my "must stop by" list each time I visit Amsterdam.

I do find it exciting that they are trying innovative flavors, but I also think its important to not overshadow some of the foundations in the process. (Tuna Nigiri: C) - Smells extremely delightful, but unfortunately dullfully lacking saline that could only be partially resolved by soy sauce. (Salmon Nigiri: C) - Fascinating concept with a South Asian influenced flavor profile that seemingly works. I'm not sure what the foam is supposed to be for since its completely disjoint from the salmon, but this dish wouldve worked if it was balanced with saline. (XO Siu Mai: B) - Surprisingly well flavored with a tender meat mixture, topped with some subtle xo to enhance with a noticeable but not overpowering spiciness. (Steamed Scallop: A) - This is the least fusion dish but also unironically the best from what I've sampled. A very classic profile with tender scallops, and an abundance of vermicelli and garlic that is perfectly seasoned with soy and sesame.
