One of America's national treasures is Mall Food Court Chinese food and this... is... exceptional. The noodles base with bourbon chicken (my favorite) and boneless spare ribs was quite literally everything I wanted it to be and more. The cherry on top? Lotus express is located lower level at the Cherry Hill mall. Wanted to grab something quick to go. I ordered. 2 fried chicken wings and white rice with chicken n broc with lo mein. The lo mein tasted like straight soy sauce. The chicken n broc was bland. The fried chicken needed more seasoning. I have experienced better! read more

Waited in long line to see dried out food in the glass windows, i knew i wanted rice but didn't know what else to get, i settled for the general tso chicken and no other meats, i added an egg roll. I pay i get to eat. Rice is great. Chicken had bones in it! Almost cracked a tooth and the egg roll tasted like something from the dirt outside with a shrimp in it. Terrible choice i made. Surprisingly the food here was pretty good! Initially I wasn't going to come here because I wasn't in the mood for Chinese food but after walking around the food court 3x- I decided to try this place out. For starters, on a Saturday afternoon they consistently had the longest line out of all of the restaurants to choose from. There is a small buffet in which you can order noodles, chicken & broccoli, fried rice, fried chicken etc. I ordered the chicken and broccoli w/ noodles, sweet and sour chicken (I believe) and fried chicken. The food was DELICIOUS! I was very pleased with my dish and would certainly recommend this place to anyone looking for good Chinese food. read more

I generally avoid malls at all costs but I had to run an errand here. I took a wander over to the dreaded food court, and nearly every Asian place was offering a taste of something. I had to laugh that two of them, when I asked what they were giving out as samples, just said, "CHICKEN." OK, a little more description would've helped but whatever. Here, they were giving out a sample of bourbon chicken. It had that nice grilled crispity char I liked, so that's what swayed me. The one-meat combo came with lots of the chicken, plenty of rice, and a huge pile of it as well. With a bottle of water, the meal came out to about $9. read more

Lotus Express is not mall food. Let me explain: I grew up in Cherry Hill and came to Lotus Express multiple times a week with my friends on mall trips as a kid. This place is better than any other mall food I've ever had. I currently live in NYC with access to some of the best Chinese food in the country but I yearn for Lotus Express' General Tso's chicken and bourbon chicken. read more

Ive had almost every item here & they all are great. Service is fast & lemonade are amazing too.. Not a big fan of the rice but my husband loves it. For a mall food court food, this is five star (or maybe I was just lucky when I ate there). The food court Chinese is, well, the food court food. It probably won't be that disgusting, but at the same time it won't be wowing. Given that, Lotus express here is a good food court Chinese. General Tso's chicken was crispy, hot, and flavorful. Fried rice was very well-fried, not watery. Actually, I think the food here is better than some other express Chinese places around the area. It's funny at one time this was the only chinese spot in the mall, they had their side on lock, the were slightly selective with their samples, and their line was always long, personally I preferred the Japanese spot across the way RIP Yanagi... But anyway this is not about that... Only reason I bring that up is because then an extremely similar place opened up directly next door... CH Mall must have wanted to add some comedy to the food court, I mean they were always going at it samples practically being thrown into your mouth as you walk by... They bicker back n forth trying to get you to buy from their place, it's seriously hilarious... The last time I was here neither of them where giving out samples... I'm wondering if ppl complained and they were on time out... Ok totally off topic... Back to my review... So they have bourbon chicken, General Tso, black pepper chicken, all kinds of good stuff. You can get two meats with rice of noodle for a decent price... Last time they actually had it for less than $4 it's usually about $7 I opt for the smaller chicken bowl for $5 since its for the girls. They love it it's the "chicken from the mall" I guess it's based on the fact that it's good and I'm loyal I've never tried they neighbor, not even a sample, I wouldn't dare betray Lotus. Service is pretty good, always rushed though, but that's how they keep the line moving... Because they are constantly busy their food is always fresh, you don't have to worry about food that was sitting out for hours or even an hour. Typical food court fare and similar to Thaimax next door. In fact, the two may have the same ownership. I thought the food was okay and prices were reasonable. Although the food court was very busy on a Saturday evening, they kept the line going at a good clip. Certainly, you could do worse at the mall food court than Lotus Express. read more

The food was really good here. They gave a decent amount for a really low price. I'm picky about my Chinese food and I would recommend them.

I was in the mall and was really in the mood for Chinese. As I walked up I was handed 2 samples of their chicken dishes, I'm not really sure because the woman handing them out didn't speak English, as became apparent later... I started looking at the menu to decide what I wanted as I put the first piece into my mouth, AND BIT DOWN ONTO A BONE! The bone splintered(as cooked chicken bones usually do) and I'm sure my facial expressions went from wonder to OH MY GOD!! At this point I started trying to spit the chicken, bones and whatever else was on that toothpick out of my mouth and the pleasant woman got less pleasant; muttering something in another language as I finally got enough out of my mouth to exclaim, "that was gross! And dangerous!! I just bit into a bone!" She looked puzzled as I looked for a place to discard the mysterious stuff and a napkin to try and wipe the rest of the bone out of my mouth. Needless to say, I didn't have Chinese tonight. And I don't expect to be back! read more
