Being born and raised in High Point, I grew up with the High Point Enterprise. It was and I think…read morestill is the best source of local news for the city. With a city the size of High Point - the population was between 60,000 and 90,000 - when I lived there (today, it's over 110,000), the city was small enough to where, over the years, I read many articles, good and bad, about people I knew. I'd see ads for my friends' parents' businesses or my parents' friends' businesses. I remember seeing some classmates' names in the police blotter. After moving away, my parents would occasionally show me announcements - usually wedding announcements - about some of my old classmates. My sister had her wedding announced in the paper. They even wrote an article about me in the mid-to-late 90s (it's cool and embarrassing at the same time). My friend's dad worked at the Enterprise for many years. Someone I went to high school with (High Point Central) writes for the Enterprise now. The old High Point Enterprise offices used to be located at 210 Church Avenue (27262) where BB&T Point ballpark, the High Point Rockers' new baseball stadium, stands today. It's in a much less visible spot now, situated in an industrial part of the city (southwest) off West Market Center Drive. Despite the decline of newspapers across the country, especially in the 2000s and 2010s, the High Point Enterprise has managed to power on. I did notice the paper get smaller in size (number of pages) in recent years, but I'm glad it's still around. Among daily newspapers in the Piedmont Triad, we also subscribed to the Greensboro News & Record (the biggest in the area), but not the Winston-Salem Journal (second biggest). The Enterprise was/is the third biggest.

After numerous missed papers, I was told that my carrier would be monitored to make sure I get my…read moredeliveries. After many phone calls I was told I would get my Paper from Saturday on Tuesday. Poor customer service. As a long time customer I expect better service. I began getting the newspaper in 1973.
