When we walked by, I couldn't see a thing inside but the sign said open and hours on the door indicated they were open, so we went inside and glad we did! There's a section of snacks; chips, candy by the door, and then towards the back is the restaurant with a few tables. I love the chalkboard menu with everything available. Calzones was blinking at us so we asked what kinds they had. You get to pick 2 meats and 2 veggies and it's made to order so it takes about 20-25 minutes. I had pepperoni, Italian sausage, mushrooms, and green peppers in mine. We came back and they were just coming out of the oven. The prices were reasonable at $9 for a small and $12 for a large. Don't let the term 'small' deceive you as when I opened the box, I noticed it's 'huge' and the larger was bigger and enough for 2 people to share! Mine was a little soggy on the bottom likely due to the veggies but still gloriously filling and yummy. I finished just over half of mine and same with Jeff G, with his humongous calzone so we'll see how they heat up as leftovers. Yellow Submarine, aside from being the coolest name ever for a sub shop, is a friendly local business that specializes in pizza, calzones, donairs, and subs - Friday night munchy food - but they're open all day. They have a wide selection to choose from too. "It's huge!" As mentioned, their proportions are generous and the prices are right. You can eat in or take out. I'm having a huge craving for ice cream right now which is making me wish I was back in the Yellow Submarine. Oh yeah, they sell ice cream too. Just don't hang from the ice cream counter. They have an actual sign posted telling people not to do that. Imagine how good their ice cream must be if folks are actually going to suspend themselves from the counter while they wait for it. Like a dog begging for a treat. They're located on the town's main drag (or what passes for such a thing in Lake Wabamun) and their Yellow and Blue colour scheme make them easy to spot. I'm a Donair seeker, and this place does not compare to any other. It's the white version of donairs no offence. If you've tasted many donairs before, than I'd suggest not getting one here if you ain't that desperate for one. It's not wrapped the way donairs usually are, it falls apart and gets messy, I've eaten my share of donairs elsewhere and I have found the trick to keeping my hands clean. But besides all that, I'm sure their pizza is better. The portion size they give is quite big which is great. They do have ice cream as well. It's a small community so not very busy, but I'd imagine if it's really hot out, it would be busy. Very spacious inside with few tables and chairs plus outside picnic benches in a sketchy ally opening, see pictures. Parking on street only but there seems to be plenty of space. Staff appears to be friendly, I'd have to come back for their pizza. I'd recommend this place for either pizza lovers. read more

They forgot the pizza sauce and the Shrimp on the pizza was definitely expired pretty sad considering we payed 50$ for a pizza put together by a 15 year old was told 40min for pickup took an hour and 20 minutes won't be going back. read more

Unfortunately I can not write a review of their food. Their service was so awful when I phoned I decided to go elsewhere. Rushed when they answered the phone, abrupt answers with poor explanations. I mentioned I had never been there before and simply asked if they had any specials on and was told NO. That's it. Then silence while they waited for whatever?
