It's hands down the best cheesesteak I've ever had. The steaks, predominantly Chicken Cheesesteaks, are always flavorful, the bread is just right, and every bite reminds me why I keep coming back. There are plenty of places that claim to have the best cheesesteak, but this is the one that has earned my loyalty. So I hate leaving a negative review . But, I eat there for lunch sometimes twice a week . I call ahead of time in hopes that my sandwich will be ready when I arrive so I can pay for it and leave . Order was placed online... easy prays, no hassles. Arrived at the location and order was ready! Literally was there less than a few minutes! Cheesesteaks had great flavor! The only thing I wished for was the bread was a little more toasted! They give you 3 different sizes in cheesesteaks: mini, small and large. I actually ordered a small and was only able to finish the mini, but I happily ate it afterwards after reheating in the oven! Of course got fries with it and wish they were more crispy. I LOVE this place. I order from here almost every Friday and the food is always very good. That's what I love about it .. always consistent. The delivery driver is super nice and we always get the food really fast. I recommend the Italian hoagie, cheesesteaks and wings. I wish the rolls were a little more tough I think they tend to get soggy if they sit in the foil with the hot cheesesteak in it but aside from that I will continue to order from and recommend this place to everyone. Stopped by Yellow Sub for an Italian Hoagie after a few brews over at Jay's on 73. I was the only customer there, as it was around 830PM. Seemed there were a few mobile or phone orders still coming in, but I received my sandwich promptly. I ordered the Italian with extra meat, oil/vinegar on the side since it was going for a short ride home. For the price point (~8 for a "small" which was around 11") this was pretty solid value. The provolone was cut thick (wish it was actually a bit thinner) but was flavorful and paired well with the salami, which stood out to me more than the capicola or Genoa salami. The amount of lettuce, tomato and onion was on point and the slight touch of oregano added perfect amount of seasoning without being too cloying. My only reason for not rating this higher is the bread. While the bread wasn't bad or stale, it was definitely the softer bread you see a lot in SoJo/Philly that's used for cheesesteaks-I'm accustomed to the chewier, crustier bread from Italian bakeries such as Italian People's in Trenton. Overall, a solid sandwich for the price point. I can tell this is not "their thing", as the main focus are their cheesesteaks. I'll have to revisit them for a proper steak! read more

I ordered a sausage, peppers, and onions hot sandwich with mozzarella cheese added. The sandwich was very good! Bread was toasted and was perfect for this sandwich. The sausages were delicious and the onions and peppers were cooked just right. It was served up with a little tomato sauce mixed in which added to the great flavor. Note:. The sausages were of the "hot" Italian variety. Not sure if it is regularly made that way. I did say "hot" when I ordered. Either way I like both and this sandwich was a home run!!! I am so disappointed!!! I literally just paid $20, including tip, for the worst white pizza I've ever had. My normal pizza place is on vacation so I thought I'd give Yellow Sub a shot & I am so so disappointed. This pizza had zero taste. It literally tasted like nothing, like white pizza normally has oil and garlic on the pie under the cheese & it gives it flavor. Nothing. The spinach was clearly the frozen kind that they must have thrown on there frozen & it thawed while cooking & it made the whole pie including the tomatoes watery. Typically there's a female at the register and this particular female was rude af! I ordered a cheesesteak over the phone and specifically asked if the lettuce could be at the bottom of the sub (like I always order from here) with the meat on top. From the time I walked in the female rolled her eyes and took a deep sigh; not at me but assuming who she was taking the order from over the phone. I pulled my card out to pay for my order but before I did she says "I don't think they put the lettuce on the bottom". I asked why not? She says "idk I put it on the receipt he said he couldn't do it ". So I proceed to check my order and the lettuce was on top of the sub. I simply said "whenever I order from here I always ask for my lettuce at the bottom and it's never been a problem". She cut me off and said "well I didn't make it". I came to check out Yellow Submarine after i saw the little segment on the Food Network, and i am so glad i did. I go to school and live in philly so i've had a lot of different cheese steaks from a lot of different places around the area, and i'm sure i'll catch some heat for this, but I think Yellow Submarine is better than Pat's and Geno's (just using Pat's and Geno's since i'm sure a lot of philly natives have been there before). First off, the size of the cheese steak is huge! Yes, size matters (when it comes to food). They have to serve the thing on 3 paper plates. Second, the thing only costs $9,. Who can say no to that? Also, this place isnt a tourist trap like Pat's and Geno's. The downside? They close at like 10pm, so its not the best choice if you have the munchies after a late night of partying. If you ever get the chance, check this place out. Note: They have Whiz, but its not the same as the Pat's kind of whiz, and according to my friend it didnt taste as good, so keep that in mind when ordering. Personally, I prefer provolone. read more
