I went there and got a Steak and cheese Grinder and a glass of wine and some Street Corn. The street corn was ok, but that grinder was sooooooo delicious. It was very greasy for sure but the flavor was 1000% there. It was VERY good. The server was great too we talked a little bit about the hidden Globes she was very attentive and nice. There is indoor and outdoor seating and some pool tables inside and some darts. Definitely more of a sports bar feel but I'll definitely go back. read more

We arrived at Three Kittens on the recommendation of a friend who had been there before. We each ordered a variation of the tacos and also the street corn. We also ordered drinks, which were OK not great. At some point, the food arrived, and the tortilla's were saturated with oil and not edible. We did eat the filling which was ok. The street corn was good, but also on the greasy side. When we brought this to the attention of our server, she said that's not great and she would not eat that either. She then told us that " I should've recommended the burrito bowl instead". Clearly not a professional server and a young person just trying to make a living over the summer, but this is unacceptable. Needless to say, I am never taking a recommendation from this person again. read more

We had the BEST time at Yellow Kittens. Got stuck there in a blustery downpour on a November early evening when nothing else on the island was even open, but so glad everything pointed us in that direction! Yes, we took our two kids (ages 4 & 8) to a bar, and yes, we had a wonderful time. My daughter watched the locals playing darts and my son and I had a blast at the ping pong table. No one cared that we brought ice cream sundae supplies in for the kids. The bartender was great. The overall vibe was cozy, friendly, and playful. The pool table was always busy, and everyone at the bar seemed genuinely entertained each time they threw our ping pong ball back to us. They have a stage so clearly there's live music at times, and the deck was nice. On a dreary, cold, dark evening, Yellow Kittens was the perfect place to hang out while we waited for our ferry to come in. read more

The service is horrible and the waiters are rude. Me and my friends went and sat at the bar, the server said "you guys are taking up room at the bar": I would never as someone professional, say that to people especially customers. I also had two people go and they had a dog. The servers were rude about the dog, and the dog was a service dog. I would never recommend this place to anyone on Long Island. Worst place to ever step into. You guys suck. read more

The Yellow Kittens is amazing! Ownership on down. Great food, great staff, views off both decks, bands and vibes on the inside. They honestly make any trip to Block Island the best spot you'll tell all your friends about. It's Solid! read more

Came here with some of my friends, two of them ordered the same thing and their order came out very different. Our waitress was super kind and understanding. Came here a few years ago and it was much better before. Not a place I would want to come back to. read more

Great service, and a decent vibe. Like many things on Black Island, you can get an amazing meal one year and fair to Midling me the next. Unfortunately, that was our experience this year. Their burger was excellent last year, but it was just so so this year read more

Our lunch (Baja Fish Taco's & Steak Sandwich) were completely cold, as if they had been sitting for a VERY long time, while the street corn app that was delivered at the same time was piping hot and delicious. If you are looking for a quick lunch it'll work, but it certainly wasn't wonderful. read more

The food meets expectations but has definitely been hit or miss this summer (mostly hits). Love the ambiance and great service. Frozen drinks are great and always have a blast. If you need a quick place to grab lunch on block island, this is the spot. Could improve on being more consistent with the burritos and the tenders. Overall, awesome spot for the vibes and ambiance. read more

STAY AWAY! 1 star is honestly generous. looked like I had pube hair in my food and a 10 year old serving me beer. SHUT IT DOWN!

If you're looking for a good lunch spot, this is the place. Their nachos are large and can easily fill you up with a group. Their tacos are all good and the pickled onion on the carnitas is a nice touch. If you're looking for a slightly healthier option a burrito bowl with whatever protein is a great option really filling. Lastly, their frozen mudslides and frozen margaritas are top notch, you can get them in mini size but let's be honest, you'll want the large! read more

As a bar was fine, really liked our bar tender. attentive and friendly. but don't bother ordering food. Wayyyyy too long of wait. Chicken tenders and 7 fries. that's right 7 fries. The chicken tenders maybe had a chance if they were cooked too long in oil that was two days too old. read more

Yellow Kittens - hard to see the overcooked chicken but easy to see the puny side of fries. - Pubs Near Me - Block Island, Rhode Island

This is our 10th year coming to yellow kittens and it has been our favorite restaurant ever and it's always our first stop. Last year we got our usual which mine is chicken tacos. It was questionable that something had changed but per usual it was delicious. This year we come back and it is a whole new menu and it was awful. The corn/flower tortillas were so hard and the chicken was huge pieces that fell out as soon and i picked it up. The chicken was not flavorful. I had two bites and had to put it down. I don't know why they had to change what was so good so now we will not be returning and YOU SHOULD NOT TOO!!! and don't even get me started on my parents meal it was gross. The service is always amazing and was today. read more

Great service and a relaxing late afternoon place a bit removed from the main downtown area. The bar is comfortable and they have a decent beer selection (Maine Beer Co Lunch on tap!). Late night probably gets a bit rowdy and that really isn't our scene so can't comment on that but for an easy afternoon stop before dinner this place was great! read more

Service was spectacular!! Slow night, but treated well by the bartender Jack!! What a guy!! Reasonable pricing, good tunes & better times! Def stop in & check it out. Meowwww read more

Another dead bar on a weekend night. Totally lame and rude staff. Don't even waste your time.

its good.. food suggestions, chopped salad with pork and double burger... the burrito salad not bad atmosphere beachy great for family and kids careful of your bar tab read more

I had the beef brisket tacos and added guac and their green spicy sauce. Highly recommend! My partner had a burrito with chicken and it was pretty good but didn't have a lot of meat in it. Ambiance is nice. You can sit outside. Better than I was expecting for a Mexican food joint in block island. Service was good, waitress was nice and food didn't take long. We went for lunch. read more

Issa 5 Star dive bar. Came here on my last night, as I heard it gets wild after 10 PM. Truth! Witnessed two guys drop and break a vape (!?). Okay. Fine. Forgiven, but then they took a bar towel and tried to clean up their sins and smoke it without realizing it was broken. Okay. Had a blast here, attractive younger crowd that drinks and parties. Drinks are reasonably priced which was nice. Darts and pool usually have lines and heated competitions complete with scores being kept on the boards. Long Live the Yellow Kittens! read more

went here during fourth of july weekend and the service was absolutely terrible. the waiter was not friendly and only came to the table to give us our drink, take our order, bring the food and the check. she didn't refill our drinks once. even after i asked for a refill we didn't receive any. the food was mediocre. seemed more like a bar then a restaurant read more

The lowlight of our trip was closing time here. You get to buy a full drink 2 minutes before closing and then have it ripped out of your hands and dumped in a basin. If you try to take one last sip, you will be to "get the f*ck out." The guy proudly announced he was the manager when one person in our party said she wanted to tell the owner. I'm hoping the owner is proud read more

Went before 7:30 with my family. Amazing band, two ladies singing with their guitars. Just inspiring and so entertaining! Food was top notch. They must share a kitchen with Winfields (connected building,) which is the top on the island. Just love the vibe at Yellow Kittens and I will definitely eat there again. read more

You have to travel on a ferry to get the best nachos in Rhode Island, but it's worth the time and the effort. The nacho portion is huge, I order a half as my meal. You can add protein, but I like it as is. They add pineapple, the worst, but you can request it not to be added. The wait staff has remained the same over the last 3+ years, they're kind and attentive. Don't forget to order a mudslide when you're there! read more

This place is very fun! I have not gone in the morning, I have only come during the nighttime bar hours. They usually have a cover of $10 dollars for the band but the bands are usually very good! The bar itself is cash only, which I wasn't a fan of but there are ATMs that you can use in order to buy drinks. There is a large dance floor and cool lights! I have had a fun time here and would return and recommend to a friend! read more

Terrible bar. Every employee is rude, terrible service. If you want to go to a bar where you'll be ignored and mistreated, try this bar.

Our favorite restaurant on Block Island. Best nachos we have ever had (and we have had a ridiculous amount!). Nachos, one or more margaritas and a delicious entree while sitting on the deck is a perfect lunch. Most of the staff has been there for years and the kitchen is the Winfields kitchen. Our absolute favorite spot for a meal on BI! If Burke (the head chef) is reviewing these, please offer some specials each week and being back the sweet heat tequila drink (pineapple juice and ghost pepper tequila)! read more

Went here for a drink and apps with friends and family and was not impressed. I would say its prime plys is that they have Guiness on tap - at a Mexican bar, but hey thats fine. The beer selection was okay, not great. The service was a little spotty. My girlfriend felt the staff had a bit of an attitude. We got the nachos for everyone to snack on. First off it is a massive pile of food, second off something they put on it is very sweet which killed the entire taste of it for me. Nothing here impressed me which was sad as I was looking forward to trying this place. read more

Great bar, lots of stuff: darts, pool, ping pong. Not a lot of tables, outdoor seating. Dancing with an eclectic DJ, at least the night we were there. Would go back. Cash bar is kind of a drag. read more

I had a very similar experience with the language used by the staff that worked there, particularly the night manager Conor. He was using profanity! I find it highly offensive considering this is a business establishment on one of our favorite places to vacation. We come with a large crew every summer and will be avoiding the yellow kitten. I wish I could give this 0 stars. read more

Service was poor, food ok. Sent back a Sangria that was undrinkable and bartender refused to take it off the bill. Don't recommend.

Came here for a weekend with my husband, to celebrate our anniversary, went to yellow kittens to have a drink normally very comfortable and very nice bar, the bartender Took our order gave us our drinks and walked away, we moved around the other side of the bar because there was no one on the side we were on to be more social, she ignored us the whole time we were there we had asked for the check, she was very busy talking to all her friends at the bar and never even cared that there was a new face in the place,, I bartend myself I would never treat anybody like she treated us it was very noticeable and rude!!! read more

$10 to walk in the door. Usually a crummy-ish cover band playing. Expensive drinks, cash only - no ATM to be found. That said, it is likely the most popular bar on the island and is fan-freakin-tastic for people watching and good laughs. read more

Decent service and the drinks are generous. The food had some evidence of a chef trying hard to make something good from nothing. I expected more local ingredients and flare but to no avail. Not to mention the very short menu itself; not many choices. If you do go, the fish tacos were good. read more

I like the lunch food, and I love the nightlife. They have great Sunday night crowd and it is a very cool atmosphere to go party in. First I should say, the woman bartending inside should be outside. She was fun, quick and very cool. But I took away a star because the outside bartender acted like he was doing me a favor getting me a drink. I got the feeling he has been there way too long and hates his job. I have been behind the bar many years in my life, and you can change a persons night for the better or worse in that job with your attitude, and his energy and attitude made my night worse. read more

On Block Island its slim pickins for bars. Hello Kitty is a must! Yes, I always forget its called "Yellow Kitten" ... and Hello Kitty is easier to remember. The cover is expensive, $10 I think? The drinks are expensive. The band is REALLY loud, and the bathrooms are REALLY small. Get over it and enjoy it. Get on the dance floor, dance your ass off and laugh at how stupidly the people around you are dancing. Maybe if you're lucky like me and my friends the door guys will draw inappropriate yet funny pictures on your hands with permanent marker, in which you will wake up with smudged marker on your face and your pillow the next morning. read more

The service was prompt and refills plentiful. The prices were very reasonable. The quasadilla was huge and very tasty. The chips and salsa could have been a meal in itself. The soft shell taco were small but came with a side. The chicken salad wrap was ok. Not a fan of cucumbers so I think might have swayed my opinion. The downside to this place is the restrooms. They were clean but tiny and made me feel like I was in a Johnny on the spot. Avoid if possible, especially if you do not like confined spaces. read more

It's a sports bar, and can get rowdy. Haven't experienced all that much, so I can't give a full review. Decor was nice, had plenty of TV's and a pool table. Beer selection was typical of a sports bar and many other places on the island. If you go, don't go on a crowded night. Unless you like that sort of thing. read more

Yup. WGW. (see previous review, haha) And for my summer birthday??!! A no-brainer. Not much has changed about my feelings toward Kittens. Everyone was as friendly as they were the summer of '09 and '10. And they were no different in 2012. I just wish this place (or Block Island, in general) was easier to get to during the summer months. Whomp whomp. Mexican on the deck was a hit/miss for me this season. I only enjoyed half of my meal while my friend enjoyed everything. I had a side that was rice and beans... it was so bitter that it was inedible. I asked them if I could swap for the refried beans and they accommodated me without question. Great service from the waitstaff! read more
