I went there and got a Steak and cheese Grinder and a glass of wine and some Street Corn. The street corn was ok, but that grinder was sooooooo delicious. It was very greasy for sure but the flavor was 1000% there. It was VERY good. The server was great too we talked a little bit about the hidden Globes she was very attentive and nice. There is indoor and outdoor seating and some pool tables inside and some darts. Definitely more of a sports bar feel but I'll definitely go back. read more

We had the BEST time at Yellow Kittens. Got stuck there in a blustery downpour on a November early evening when nothing else on the island was even open, but so glad everything pointed us in that direction! Yes, we took our two kids (ages 4 & 8) to a bar, and yes, we had a wonderful time. My daughter watched the locals playing darts and my son and I had a blast at the ping pong table. No one cared that we brought ice cream sundae supplies in for the kids. The bartender was great. The overall vibe was cozy, friendly, and playful. The pool table was always busy, and everyone at the bar seemed genuinely entertained each time they threw our ping pong ball back to us. They have a stage so clearly there's live music at times, and the deck was nice. On a dreary, cold, dark evening, Yellow Kittens was the perfect place to hang out while we waited for our ferry to come in. read more

Me and my friends went and sat at the bar, the server said "you guys are taking up room at the bar": I would never as someone professional, say that to people especially customers. I also had two people go and they had a dog. The servers were rude about the dog, and the dog was a service dog. I would never recommend this place to anyone on Long Island. This is our 10th year coming to yellow kittens and it has been our favorite restaurant ever and it's always our first stop. Last year we got our usual which mine is chicken tacos. It was questionable that something had changed but per usual it was delicious. This year we come back and it is a whole new menu and it was awful. The corn/flower tortillas were so hard and the chicken was huge pieces that fell out as soon and i picked it up. The chicken was not flavorful. I had two bites and had to put it down. I don't know why they had to change what was so good so now we will not be returning and YOU SHOULD NOT TOO!!! and don't even get me started on my parents meal it was gross. Great service and a relaxing late afternoon place a bit removed from the main downtown area. The bar is comfortable and they have a decent beer selection (Maine Beer Co Lunch on tap!). Late night probably gets a bit rowdy and that really isn't our scene so can't comment on that but for an easy afternoon stop before dinner this place was great! read more

Issa 5 Star dive bar. Came here on my last night, as I heard it gets wild after 10 PM. Truth! Witnessed two guys drop and break a vape (!?). Okay. Fine. Forgiven, but then they took a bar towel and tried to clean up their sins and smoke it without realizing it was broken. Okay. Had a blast here, attractive younger crowd that drinks and parties. You have to travel on a ferry to get the best nachos in Rhode Island, but it's worth the time and the effort. The nacho portion is huge, I order a half as my meal. You can add protein, but I like it as is. They add pineapple, the worst, but you can request it not to be added. This place is very fun! I have not gone in the morning, I have only come during the nighttime bar hours. They usually have a cover of $10 dollars for the band but the bands are usually very good! The bar itself is cash only, which I wasn't a fan of but there are ATMs that you can use in order to buy drinks. There is a large dance floor and cool lights! Our favorite restaurant on Block Island. Best nachos we have ever had (and we have had a ridiculous amount!). Nachos, one or more margaritas and a delicious entree while sitting on the deck is a perfect lunch. Most of the staff has been there for years and the kitchen is the Winfields kitchen. Our absolute favorite spot for a meal on BI! Went here for a drink and apps with friends and family and was not impressed. I would say its prime plys is that they have Guiness on tap - at a Mexican bar, but hey thats fine. The beer selection was okay, not great. The service was a little spotty. My girlfriend felt the staff had a bit of an attitude. We got the nachos for everyone to snack on. First off it is a massive pile of food, second off something they put on it is very sweet which killed the entire taste of it for me. I had a very similar experience with the language used by the staff that worked there, particularly the night manager Conor. He was using profanity! I find it highly offensive considering this is a business establishment on one of our favorite places to vacation. We come with a large crew every summer and will be avoiding the yellow kitten. I like the lunch food, and I love the nightlife. They have great Sunday night crowd and it is a very cool atmosphere to go party in. First I should say, the woman bartending inside should be outside. She was fun, quick and very cool. But I took away a star because the outside bartender acted like he was doing me a favor getting me a drink. I got the feeling he has been there way too long and hates his job. I have been behind the bar many years in my life, and you can change a persons night for the better or worse in that job with your attitude, and his energy and attitude made my night worse. read more

The drinks are expensive. The band is REALLY loud, and the bathrooms are REALLY small. Get over it and enjoy it. Get on the dance floor, dance your ass off and laugh at how stupidly the people around you are dancing. Everyone was as friendly as they were the summer of '09 and '10. And they were no different in 2012. I just wish this place (or Block Island, in general) was easier to get to during the summer months. Whomp whomp. Mexican on the deck was a hit/miss for me this season. I only enjoyed half of my meal while my friend enjoyed everything. I had a side that was rice and beans... it was so bitter that it was inedible.
