Toward the end of our tasting we met one of the winery owners, so were able to learn first-hand how decades earlier the family had established a foundry that cast pieces for artists from around the world, and had later expanded into wine-making. Though we ended up not bringing our dog, they remembered that I had inquired (weeks earlier) if dogs were allowed and so had a doggy bowl of cold water waiting near our table. Thoughtful. WINE: 3.0. The only reason there are 4 instead of 5 stars - because how can you really criticize a highway sculpture? - is because if they ARE going to have a trail, which they do, how about some nice steps made out of railroad ties, for instance, instead of VERY SLIPPERY volcanic rock? The real title of this sculpture is Grandfather Cuts Loose the Ponies. It was made by David Govedare and is unfinished, although it was made a while ago, so perhaps we can just call it finished. It consists of several life-sized horses, all slightly different. There are viewpoints on both sides of the highway; however, you can only hike to it (crawl, maybe) from the parking area on the eastbound side of the highway.

Holley and her amazing staff helped us dream the dream and we came up with a plan to host the event outside in front of Events at Sunset. It all worked out so well . We remembered 62 beautiful babies and were able to be "together apart". This venue has such a serene peaceful setting where everyone felt safe and welcome. At that time I explained that my fathers funds were frozen and I was waiting on some papers to release the funds. I gave them the information to contact the manager at Hapo Credit Union to confirm this information. Obviously if I was avoiding payment I wouldn't have even bothered trying to explain things!! Even after speaking with the Hapo manager, Einan's sent me to collections. Of course I'm irate as it's barely been 3 months!! I call to speak with someone in AR, which happened to be the same woman I'd spoke with in September. She very rudely told me she had no choice but to send me to collection. I too work in AR and know this is not true! She proceeded to tell me it's been over 6 months delinquent. I countered with the date he passed...again, barely 3 months! When I asked to speak to her superior, she told me she Holly would be in the following day in the morning. I called the following day (a Friday) and was told she was out. I left her a voicemail asking for a return call. Today, Monday, I have yet to hear back! The worst part...the balance owing is a little over $1800. It isn't even for the full amount of services. (My father had most of it prepaid) I've never encountered such a greedy, impatient, rude and down right cold business in my life!! I understand completely the need to collect payments in a timely manner, but in some cases there is a need for a bit more time. If I hadn't communicated with them about what was going on, I'd also understand, but the ONE time I was called, I immediately responded with all the information explaining the situation. I hope that this post helps at least one family avoid going through this hell in an already difficult time!!
