Recently, however, they have merged with three other companies, including La Quinta Cab to form Yellow Cab of the Desert. I called them one morning at about 5 am, quite in a hurry to get somewhere by 5:30. 40 minutes later I tried to start calling them, only it kept just going to this recording telling about Yellow Cab of the Desert. Long story short I was never able to get ahold of them. I called several other cab companies. The most frustrating part is that most of them were routing me to this same place because they had merged. I was beginning to think I was screwed. I finally got ahold of someone else and 90 minutes later I had my cab. THEN, determined to let them redeem themselves, I called them today. The girl who answered had an irritating high pitched voice as it was, but when she made me repeat absolutely everything I was saying, I was even more irritated. 32 minutes pass and still no cab. I finally call back. It's busy for the next six minutes. At last, she answers and I tell her after 38 minutes I'd like to cancel my cab. She tells me it's not a good idea because they could be on their way. I say the fact that they COULD be on their way is freaking ridiculous because this is their job so the odds should be a little than COULD be. She finally lets me cancel. 5 more minutes pass and I've found a ride from someone. The cab finally shows up. The ditzy phone girl didn't even tell him I canceled. Ugh, I'm getting tense just thinking about it.

Our driver, Victor, was wonderful to work with and arrived on time each day in a spotless SUV. While the post-festival transportation scene is usually chaotic, that wasn't our experience at all. Victor secured a prime spot in the lot 5 hours before our pickup time and was standing outside his vehicle, smiling and waving at 1am when we exited the festival. I'd give you ten stars if I could. My driver scammed me and over charged. The sign at the airport said taxi prices are $4 fee plus,…read more$4 per mile. I was headed to the courtyard at 1300 Tahquitz Canyon Way, which is 1.5 miles straight over from the airport. The total should have been about $10, which is inline with what Lyft and Uber were quoting. However, the driver insisted it was a $25 minimum flat fee. When I questioned him about it he got defensive and insisted that was the airport policy. I googled on the route and found that the MAXIMUM legal amount he could charge me to downtown was $25 and google estimated the total to be $10-15 based on airport fare policies. This makes me think he charged me as much as he could rather than what was the fair amount. I told him I would be using a credit card and he insisted it was a flat $25 fee, but when we arrived, he added a $1.50 saying it was a credit card fee despite not disclosing that earlier, insisting it was just a $25 flat fee. I regret not refusing the ride and getting out and waiting the two minutes for a Lyft. I will definitely do that next time and suggest you do the same!

My family and I had a disappointing experience with Cab #335 at approximately 9pm on June 18th,…read more2025. It was a ride from the Palm Springs Airport to our storage unit. The driver was obviously disappointed by the short distance ride after we provided the address saying, "this must be my lucky day". His driving bordered on reckless. He exceeded the speed limit, he tailgated and made aggressive lane changes. He made us feel unsafe throughout the short ride. At the end of the ride, I noticed the meter was not displayed and asked him the price. He retrieved an iPad or equivalent from the floor, typed something in and then displayed the price of $39.50. This was more than double the usual fare. He stated it was "because there was a minimum fare which he would have told us if we asked". I looked up the base fare which is $4 with an additional airport fee of $3.25. Based on the mileage of our trip, total fare should have come out to less than $18. This was not only unprofessional but bordered on predatory behavior. We are Palm Springs locals that try to utilize local businesses whenever possible, but will never be using City Cab again. I contacted the company last week, but have yet to hear a response. I strongly urge other to consider Uber or Lyft.
