HORRIBLE!!! The cab number was 3009 which I ordered to 805 W.Randolph street, I was heading to 1926 W.Harrison St. When we arrived to destination the driver immediately turned off the meter, which showed the amount of 7 dollars and few cents and talled me that it was 13 dollars 35 cents. When I asked him that the meter showed different amount, he said that we have to add to this amount the amount for the fist mile, then he started saying that the amount showed was 13 dollars. When I asked him to turn on the meter he refused. Also he refused to give me a printed receipt with the amount I have to pay. When I started calling the company to figure out he throwed my change on the floor of back seat and kicked me ot from the car. The change by the way was not enough, he left some tip for himself without asking me if I actually want to live a tip (which I would never do for his rudeness and cheating on me) read more

How does this cab company stay in business? I agree with the others who think this company can suck it. If you live in Pilsen and are trying to get a pickup, look elsewhere. They called me 5 times to notify me that they could not get a cab driver out to me. Seriously? How is that possible? They are unreliable and always try to talk you out of using a credit card. They also refuse to provide Pilsen with service. I will never use them again and warn friends against it. They don't deserve a star. read more

Yellowcab driver 4852 refusing to accept credit card saying the machine isn't working. i always take a cab and i know how to use the cab credit card machine in front of me. while he was cursing already i am using his credit card machine to pay him and he kept saying his machine is not working, but PAYMENT WENT THRU! so after paying him, he was still cursing at me, super mad and even after i got off his car he was still shouting and cursing at me. the worst part that i cant understand is that I HAVE MY 2 1/2 year old kid with me hearing all his bad words. that's the worst being a parent. read more

If I could give you zero I would! Two hours for a cab ?! Only to get a voicemail saying you cancelled it??!!! Worst service ever!

WOW. These guys REALLY SUCK. 1. Called a cab. They Never Showed Up. I waited a half hour before looking for another cab, which just so happened to be the same, yellow cab company. 2. Car I got in was dirty as hell. The seatbelt was broken and my cab driver couldn't understand me. 3. Cab driver got lost in lakeview. Ended up paying a TON of money. Not cool. read more

I wish I could give yellow cab less than one star. What an aweful bunch of human beings. It was 20 below on Saturday and I was working late - 4AM to be exact. I called for a cab. They send a cab and tell me he should be outside shortly. I go to the door and wait. Nada. Fall asleep. It's 5AM - nothing. This is the third time this has happened so I re-call a cab and place a complaint with them and they put me through to the nastiest wretch of a supervisor (the only male supervisor by his accounts - he refused to give his name) who then shouts over me, berated me for 5 minutes and then midway through a sentence he cut me off to take another call. I was hung up on. It's hard enough for businesses to stay afloat right now and many people are working themselves to the bone to do a good job. Yellow Cab clearly doesn't care and had no problem treating me like garbage on numerous occassions. Put them out of business so that someone worthy will take their place, and God help that supervisor from dispatch if I find out who he is. I've never been treated so disrespectfully. Here's to Yellow Cab ending up in the bread line. read more

THE WORST! I spend thousands on cabs annually. Why? I am visually challenged and cannot drive. This company shows no loyalty to regular customers. I was hung up on 10x (cell phone log to prove it); left hanging on Thanksgiving evening because the driver couldn't find me - the driver who dove me to my destination, two miles away had no clue where he was going! In Chicago! Could not understand my explicit directions! Then, for the return ride, Yellow didn't have the decency to call me - they just never showed up - not the first time this happened. I've had to cancel doctor appointments because they just don't show or call! They get no more of my money. Wish I could give no stars. read more

Warning! Check your credit card bill. I flagged a Yellow Cab and took my normal $17-$18 dollar cab ride home from the loop. When I got my credit card bill, he had charged $125 to my card. I called my card company and the charges were denied. Whew! Good thing I caught it. read more

Took me one second to flag car 75 down on millwaukee in wicker park. Our driver was very nice though he didn't seem to know the area well at all. I will call this company from now on. read more

Do not waste your time contacting this Taxi Company. I am truly disgusted by the way they handle business. I had somewhere to be tonight at a certain time and 3 hours later an agent still has not contacted me. I missed most of the event and there is no purpose of me wasting money on a cab now. As a result, I had to cancel. I understand that Saturday night is their busiest time, but it should not take 3 hours for a cab to come to South Shore. I'm right off Lake Shore Drive. A business only has ONE time to disappoint me in order for me to no longer conduct business with them. This unprofessional company has managed to do that. Perhaps if I lived downtown...I would have got a cab sooner. Truly disgusted!!! read more

Everytime I try these guys I get "20 minute wait" which 20 minutes later turns into "15 minutes"...then "10", then "5"......and then I actually end up late for whatever I am going to. Once I had to drive myself to a flight, only to get the cab calling me saying they are outside as I am checking my bags at O'hare! I don't often say I hate a company, because it's hard to hate any business, but I hate Yellow Cab. They are awful. Don't use them. Maybe they will make some changes to how they work. read more

Yellow cab caused me to miss my flight. Don't ever use them if you need to go to the airport! I called Yellow Cab at 6:50 am and got their automated scheduling service. I received a confirmation number but was getting ready and didn't write down the number. I called back 15 minutes later, at 7:10 am and they didn't have the order. Ok, not a big deal as my flight wasn't until 9:30. WRONG... Called several times and was told I would be notified when a driver accepted my order. No call ever came. I never made it to airport and had to reschedule my flight. They finally called at 9:05 am. Funny that they called right after rush hour when a cabbie would like an airport fare!!! I will never use this taxi service again as they are undependable. By the way, yellow and Checker are one in the same company. So unprofessional that one can't get a ride to the airport and has to call two hours in advance and if you do this, they show up in five minutes. Thanks for making me miss my flight Yellow Cab! read more

This morning, my wife called Yellow Cab requesting a cab. We received a confirmation e-mail that the cab would be at our address between 7:03am and 7:18am. No cab ever showed up. When we called to see where our cab was, the operator advised that "no one ever picked up our route". Why did we receive a confirmation e-mail then? We then used Uber and a car was outside in several minutes. Yellow Cab was simply a waste of time. read more

Avoid Yellow, Checker & Blue Diamond Cabs at all costs (they are all the same company)! There are plenty of other cab companies in Chicago. A Yellow Cab was called for me by my doctor's office to transport me to another medical facility. I was told by the doctor that the cab company had told the driver where I was going. (This is usually the case when you call for a cab anyway, right?). Well, I got in the cab and the driver asked for the address; I told him I didn't know because I didn't call for the cab and then repeated the info that I had gotten which was his dispatcher had the address. Well, this guy was a real a-hole and copped an attitude because I couldn't tell him the address (when I didn't even call for the cab!). He could have contacted his dispatcher but I went back inside the doc's office and got the address. This jerk continues to tell me he doesn't have to take me anywhere so I told him to pull over and let me out after going only 2 blocks down the road; apparently this immigrant also has a problem with women because he made a comment that 'all you women are like that' (like what?) and kept calling me 'momma'. I sure as hell ain't his Momma! So beware the Yellow Cab company, especially if your cabbies' got an ego before he even starts the meter! read more

Just used Yellow Cab to go from Hilton Chicago to Union Station. The driver yelled at us to shut the door so he could take off -- didn't matter that no one, including a young child, was buckled in. At the end of the ride, the driver quoted the cost ... fare + his 20% tip. Double check the meter before paying up! read more

I called Yellow Cab to book a morning cab ride to the airport (the online form would not go through). I called and talked to a professional sounding dispatcher, she confirmed my information very quickly and told me that if a driver did not show up in the morning to call back. I had ordered the cab for 5:30 and I received a text at 5:15 "Cab #xxxx has accepted your fare. The estimated time to get you is 4 minutes. Thank you.....". Cab #xxxx showed up about 15 minutes later (later than text but on time for request). He confirmed my info. He was very nice and had a clean cab. Driver got me there quickly. I'm not putting his number and giving 5 stars because the ride was a little hairy, but not unusual for a city cab driver. Yellow Cab did everything they said they would. read more

I scheduled a pick-up at 4:15am. The customer service on the line could definitely use some improvement. I was told I would be called the next morning when the cab was there. Around 4:10am I stepped outside merely because I was anxious to go. The cab pulled up a few minutes later and got me downtown in 10 minutes- something I didn't realize was possible. The driver was friendly and efficient. read more

I needed to get to Union Station so I went on the web and looked for taxis in Chicago. Yellow Cab was one of the first ones. I found out I could order a cab online which I thought was pretty cool. They called me back anyway to confirm and also sent a text to let me know his ETA. He arrived on time and I was at Union Station in a flash. I paid cash so I can't comment on use of credit cards, but overall I was happy with the service. read more

Terrible. And I don't mean it just because I've had the most recent terrible experience - but anytime I've used Yellow Cab it's been TERRIBLE. I try to give them a benefit of a doubt. I try to support local businesses anytime I can - I can't do it for Yellow Cab. I had a very simple request of requesting a 4:30 pick up time and I called at 4. Mind you I constantly said this was for a group of individuals NOT from Chicago that would be in an Englewood. I needed 6 cabs. I called two days beforehand to ask what the procedure would be for this situation. She said call a half hour ahead. So here I am 4:00 calling the cab service to which I am greeted by a young woman who just says, "Well I can't do that. You need to be ready NOW. We'll fleet them out within ten minutes." I kept repeating that I needed to have them by 4:30 and what her suggested callback time would be. "Call at 4:30." No no, you don't understand. They need to get picked UP at 4:30. So I ask them to put in the request right then and there. She refuses until they are ready. I call back 4:15 to ask for them to send it over. Guess what? Only 2/6 cabs arrive. And ten minutes after 4:30. They don't get there until 4:45ish. I will never use them again. By that time everyone had already ordered their own Uber. (Ironically the service I was trying to morally avoid.) Never again. read more

Horrible customer service. Scheduled online a taxi pickup to midway. I received a confirmation email. Got a call from taxi company 10 minutes late saying that taxi would still not arrive for another 10 min. I told them that this was unacceptable since I had a flight to catch. They had the nerve to blame me for incorrectly putting in the order. I told them that I had an email confirmation with the time of pickup so I did not understand how I placed the order incorrectly. The dispatcher continued to say that I put the order in incorrectly despite the fact that I had an email confirmation. I would never trust yellow can to get you anywhere on time. read more

Yellow Cab driver blew thru a red light in chicago. Admitted it was his fault and then changed his story when his boss showed up. Now it's been a week and the driver is avoiding his insurance company (admission of guilt - police wrote the cab driver the ticket). We can't get closure of our claim or $$ for our vehicle (which was totalled) because they are avoiding the problem. I will never order a cab from them or give them any of my business. Nothing like a trip to the lawyers to end your week. read more

Because they cancelled my taxi without telling me--after sending me a text that said my taxi had been dispatched--we missed our flight to Portugal for our honeymoon today. I ordered a taxi online. I got a text saying it was dispatched. I heard my phone ring and answered it. The connection was bad: I could hear a woman saying "Hello" but she couldn't hear me. I wasn't too worried about it since the taxi had been dispatched. After waiting a long time, I called the number back and got a better connection. They told me they had cancelled my taxi since I didn't answer. The lady on the phone was not particularly apologetic and could not give me an estimate as to when I could get a taxi. About an hour after my first request, a taxi finally arrived. Instead of being on my way to Europe, I am in my living room on Yelp right now. read more

I have been in the customer service business all my life and to have to pay to be treated the way I was is ridiculous. First cab asked where I was going and then asked if I was paying cash or credit. I said credit and he made me get out of the cab. Second cab #320 (yellow cab) on Friday (05.13.11) at 5:15 pm when I ran my credit card through and would not read told me he was going to take me to the police station and that this is why they did not like credit cards. He then proceeded to say to me "@#it lady don' t you have cash?" My credit card ended up going through and then he denied ever saying anything to me. What happened to customer service? I will never use yellow cab again! read more

I know my boyfriend runs late but this cab service makes him look early! It took 55 min from dispatch and three phone calls for our cab to arrive. We requested a van since I told them we had six large suitcases and four people. We did not receive a van. He couldn't find our street even with dispatcher's help. I had to flag a second cab to carry the rest of our bags and passengers. read more

If I could give this place 0stars I would. Took a cab ride from Midway to Bolingbrook which is less than a 30 minute ride was charged a flat rate of $86. Went to Navy Pier from Ogilvie, both ways with Yellow Cab. Both drivers left before door was closed (one saying, "Hurry up, get in get in, close the door"). Both drove recklessly, hitting bumps hard, and swerving wildy. One nearly hit several pedestrians (with the right of way) and the other nearly hit a bicyclist. I know for cab drivers to drive this way is typical these days. Still these guys are ready to kill people for money. Sad. read more

Bad service. I've gotten a very rude driver on all occasions.

Thank you Yellow Cab, thank you for making sure I got into my destination safely. You outshined Globe Cab by far tonight.

Cab never came though I scheduled it the day before. I was told, "It's not guaranteed." Garbage cab company.

The cabbie in car 028 picked my husband up from the airport and sped away with his luggage when be dropped him off. Yellow Cab then showed their great customer service by saying too bad, we don't have any control over our independent drivers, even when they are thieves. NEVER USE YELLOW CAB. Reservation service is awful. I reserved a taxi 11 hours in advance to pick me up and take me to the airport at 6:45am every week. About 50 percent of the time they either don't show up or say they have but won't wait the 1-2 mins it takes me to go outside. In bad weather, when you need them on time the most, they never show up on time or at all. On multiple occasions I've had them call me 45 mins after my reservation to tell me they can get me another can with 15 mins and then lecture me when I've already found another one. I have a flight to catch so I can't afford their inability to manage their schedule even though they have a 11 hour warning. I've since gone to a private driving service as most Chicago taxi companies seem to have many of the same issues. read more

Will never book with them again! Booked with them by Taxi Magic 12 hours in advance for early morning pick up to the airport . First call apparently didn't get ordered. When I called back, it was transferred to checker cab somehow. They were much more informative and sent me a confirmation number, called me as well as told me a time! However, they said my address wasn't in the computer. It has been a building since 1911! The first person from yellow did nothing but say ok and when I asked she said ten minutes. Get a cab number! I was in Bridgeport. I flagged down my own cab and cancelled in the end for fear of missing my flight. Boooooo. read more

I ordered a cab 5 hours ahead of time on their website. At the appointed time I got a call from someone at the company saying "they were still looking for a cab for me". They finally called back 25 minutes later. Very bad experience and I will never call them again. read more
