I'm always looking to shop local and especially at mom and pop shops and I'm so glad this one is in…read moremy neighborhood. They have an astonishing selection of craft as well as the standards at a reasonable price (remember it's not a big box so they don't have the same bargaining power based on volume). The wine selection is good and the liquor, considering it's a smallish space, is better than you would expect. Good variety on basics like vodka, tequila and rum and not bad on whiskey. They have more single malt scotch choices than most places in town and a big plus is, when I asked if they would consider offering my go-to, the 12 year-old Singleton, they stocked it for me (best value for a Speyside pretty much anywhere but especially here. Try it if you haven't - you can thank me later ). Nice folks. Helpful. If there's no parking right in front, there is plenty at the park directly across the street. Just yards away. They have sodas and snacks and most of the convenience store stuff you need.

I walked in with kindness, with anticipation of a complete experience at the river. But the one behind the counter, is disrupted by others contentment. I tried to make pleasant conversation with him as he was dissecting my ID. He, however, did not return the social interaction. Instead he was bending my ID back and forth and tilting it to see how it catches the light and scanning back and forth several times, too much. But I thought that's okay, he is just doing the right thing. Still strange nonetheless. I hadn't my credit card on me, so it was either pay with phone or typing in my number, and he was EXTREMELY bothered when I asked to pay with my phone. All it takes is a simple no. So as I go to type in my card number he grabs the machine out of the simple touch of my fingertips accusing me of trying to commit fraud, saying I as a customer am not allowed to touch said machine. But that being said, how would I put my card in the chip reader and type my pin number anyways? I guess he must not have thought about that or was too focused on being well over the top rude. I was very shocked on being scolded as an adult, because these are simple conversations that take just a bit of patience and kindness, so, my knee-jerk response was "dude" half jokingly, because I don't think I've interacted with someone even half as rude as all of his wrinkles tell he is. So upon this well escalated situation, only on his behalf, he refused to sell me anything. Nothing but strange, I left feeling confused as nothing had gone wrong but his own attitude.
