I love Paint Nite. I have done several of these types of activities over the years and prefer Paint Nite to their competition. Their instructors are usually awesome, have great senses of humor and really engage their classes. You repeat an oath at the beginning of each class and I feel like this really sets the tone of how the class is going to go. They show you what to do, all you have to do at that point is relax and have fun. My favorite instructors so far have been: Jason Good (seriously take a class with him-you will love it-and he will probably sing to you) and Cricket Manjarrez (our class had the giggles most of the night). Some venues they use are better than others; in my experience, I have found the service in bars to be far superior to that in restaurants, but that's kind of out of their control. They have paintings for all levels of detail desired and the schedule changes enough that you can attend a class every several months and not have to paint the same thing. They offer discounts via email for repeat customers and after each class the artist will give you a code to come back at a discounted rate. They are also often on Groupon- so you can watch for that too. I also have to applaud their customer service. A few months ago, I had an issue with my pre-purchased voucher and was able to submit a help ticket quickly and had an answer within 30 minutes. A+ all around. read more

I Purchased 2 Yaymaker Groupon tickets in May of this year. It has been a disaster since. Here's the list of no shows, cancellations and appointments kept thus far for me: 1. 5/22 at Paradiso. NO SHOW (never cancelled. Full class and instructor never showed. We had to reschedule on OUR OWN for 6/19  - Yaymaker did not reach out to us until we complained (was finally given 2 extra coupon codes, but read on as they've done me no good!) 2. 6/19 at Paradiso. KEPT but it was advertised as glass hanging planters and there were no glass hanging planters to do. Just regular ones. Not what was advertised. 3. 7/30 at Pallette 22. CANXD 4. 8/27 at Pallette 22. CANXD 5. 9/11 at Hula Girl. CANXD 6. 10/6 at Whole Foods Fair Lakes. CANXD 7. 10/29 at Palette 22. KEPT and was a great class! 8. 11/11 at Board Room CANXD 9. 12/13 at Detour Coffee. CANXD Every reuse of my codes gets cancelled. I want something done. I cannot be the only one who is experiencing this from the Arlington Yaymaker?!?! I currently have a few codes that I still need to use because every time I reschedule something it gets canceled and they send me a code. I loved our instructor Lana! She was super relaxed but attentive and helpful at the same time. Would definitely go back to paint with her again. The whole process was well organized and it made for a great Saturday afternoon activity. This is definitely the perfect activity for a date night, or just a fun few hours with a friend. read more

Well, I booked 3 events over 3 months (Jan-March). All events were cancelled. Don't waste your money booking for an event that does not occur. I really enjoyed the instructor, Jason Good! Compared to the one other Paint Night experience I've had, I appreciated how Jason gave many technique tips instead of just a plain tutorial. He was also funny and didn't sugar coat feedback. I overheard the woman across from me ask Jason how her painting looked so far. He replied along the lines of, "Looks like grass." I personally much rather hear that kind of response than instructors that may say, "Oh, that looks greeaatt!!!" (whether it is or isn't). I love love LOVE PaintNite. Probably because I paint so much and am a designer for clothes, so these random date nights my boyfriend has planned randomly for over a year now are the best. The first few times we went to PaintNite, they were so enjoyable, but why did I decided to do a review now? Well tonight we went to Hard Times Cafe in Arlington and out of all of the teachers (which were all great people and super nice btw) Jason Good was by far the funniest teacher we've had so far! He made tonight so enjoyable and I'm once again proud of ourselves for accomplishing a Moderate Painting. The food at Hard Times cafe was awesome too, especially the Brownie Sundae... Mouth-watering! Definitely try to have Jason Good as your teacher, he will make the whole lesson worth while. read more

I had hoped to have in class paint nite, but because of Covid-19 this was not possible. Later, I find out they don't take refunds. They are only doing virtual classes right now. If I had known that I have to buy my own supplies and have a virtual class I never would've bought a ticket in first place. I emailed Yaymaker to reschedule a class. I tried the code to reschedule and it didn't work. I emailed them 3 more times and no response. I think it's a scam. I just wasted my money. read more

I love Paint Nite and I usually go to Herndon, Sterling and Fairfax. I did a couple of paintings that now are in my kids room ( Fireflies at Night and Firefly me to the Moon) and they are proudly telling everybody that comes into their room that their Mommy is an artist(LoL) Another one I made is displayed inn the garage because it did not turn the way I wanted but is good enough to make my garage walls look pretty. I am planning on making some paintings for our bathrooms. The instructors are awesome, the lighting is usually bad which makes painting a little hard. Because these events are usually held at bars this is something to be aware of. read more

Went to my first Paint Nite last night, and it was awesome! We did "Spring Blossoms" with Heidi Gibson, she was very good at presenting and very encouraging! Only reason I gave it 4 stars was the location, this one was at Hunan One in Arlington, the lighting was horrible! As a bar/restaurant it was fine, but when you're trying to paint a masterpiece it's not so helpful. read more

I'm giving it 3 stars because the location was terrible - Bertucci's restaurant which means there was music playing and restaurant patrons talking making it very hard to hear our instructor. Unlike other paint classes, you have to buy your own drink on top of the ticket price. Then at the end of class they asked for tips, never had that happen at another paint class. read more

It was clear that my instructor had painting experience. He provided the group with good techniques and gave helpful one-on-one advice. However, I don't think he was familiar with the painting. I know that everyone's painting will, and is supposed to, look different from the original, but not only were there zero paintings by the patrons that looked like the original, the instructors painting didn't look much like it either. It was a fun painting in its​ own way, but I had fallen in love with the original and was looking forward to having something like it. (Painting: Made of Stardust, Instructor: Luke). Additionally, if I were Paint Nite, I wouldn't give the Amphora Restaurant in Vienna my business anymore. The roof fell on two women, which obviously was nobody's fault, but the restaurant staff was​ not courteous or helpful afterward​. They offered to split one complimentary bottle of wine between all of the guests (at least 20 people); never offered to help with moving tables; had one employee come in quickly with a broom; and charged (at least my guest and me) for our drinks despite what they had said earlier. Obviously,​ this was out of Paint Nite's control, and Luke handled himself well in what was a stressful situation, but I would suggest not going to an event at the Amphora Restaurant. read more

My fiancé and I did a Paint Nite at Champps Americana in Pentagon City. We painted a picture of the Washington monument and cherry blossoms along a reflection of the Tidal Basin. Our instructor was Jason Good and he was both patient and humorous in his instruction. We were provided the paint brushes (3 types), canvas, palate (which was already set up), and painting smocks. The class lasted 2 hours with a 10-minute break in between. Make sure to look out for discounts, as we got a 40% discount for our two tickets when we visited! My fiancé and I had a wonderful time at Paint Nite and have 2 lovely paintings that we got to take home to show for it :) We'll certainly do Paint Nite again! read more

I tried to plan a private event with lauren. She got back to me orginially right away and when i told her the day i wanted to plan it and if she could give me options she just never responded back. After 5 emails and asking her to call me she told me the restaurants never got back to her and she was sick and couldn't talk. She told me she would get back to me the next day and call me at lunch time. I never received a call nor an email. In that time i was able to contact muse paint bar and they were able to respond and book my request in less then 24 hours. Wish Paint Nite would have had the same customer service! read more

A group of us made reservations for Paint Nite located located at Cosi (Virginia Square), 3503 N. Fairfax Dr. Suite 200, Arlington, VA. We showed up early, as requested in the email confirmation and waited 45 minutes but no one from Paint Nite ever showed up. The manager at Cosi informed us that the Paint Nite company usually sets up 30 minutes before the event, but no one ever did. In addition, we were informed by Cosi that this was the second night in a row this has happened. Both evenings, customers waited but no show. Understandably, things may come up BUT it's very unprofessional not to send an email, text or phone call to inform all the customers. It was a waste of money and time. read more

Tried to find something experiencial to give my sisters for their birthday this year, and we found a nice alternative to a gift card in Paint Nite! Jason Good was our instructor at Bar Louie in Herndon and he was tremendous! We are already planning on doing this again! I really cant say enough positives about our instructor, Jason. So I have done like 13 paintings and I always have fun. Shari G and Luke have been my favorite instructors. And I love Donna's energy. I already signed up for 4 more. Those anytime passes are great!
