Yaymaker is a SCAM!!! They took my money quick enough for one of their so called "Paint Nite" events. They cancelled the event with little notice, & refused to give a refund when requested. I was put in an embarrassing predicament by this last minute cancellation. Don't give Yaymaker your money, read the other reviews, that evidence I am not the only one they pulled this switcheroo scam on. They will cancel the events & keep your money. read more

Every yaymaker event I have been to has been so much fun! The teachers are helpful, fun and nice. The restaurants have been pretty great too, although you don't have to buy anything from the restaurant, I usually get a little something to munch on and a soda or drink. I bought a deal for half off. The class was hosted at Pour House. The instructor was easy to follow and stopped to catch everyone up. It started on time and the only thing I had a hard time with was the lighting in the restaurant being very dim. I did a game night fundraiser event with yaymaker back in July. It was originally scheduled for June and they were flexible with us to move it. However, they did not complete their side of the getting the fundraiser account set up. When we sent out our invites for people to participate it said "paint nite" instead of game night. This affected people signing up for the event (which affected us getting our deposit back). On top of that, we have yet to receive our funds from the fundraiser. Again, our fundraiser was back in JULY!!! I have been in communication with Joe Levy from Yaymaker and he has stopped returning my phone calls and emails. No one else is getting back to me either. This is ridiculous! I'm never using them again to do a fundraiser if this is how they treat organizations. The actual event was a lot of fun! The behind the scenes, working with yaymaker, has been a headache! read more

I have participated in paint night 3 times. I enjoy doing it. It is a great activity to do with friends! I have had 2 different teachers and both ladies were very helpful. I was very surprised to see that I can actually paint. I will say it moves kind of slow but It helps if you have a few drinks. read more

When you have to experiment with your creative side, painting with friends can be a fun experience. This Paint Nite event was held at the Orchid Thai restaurant. My friend's and I decided to eat before painting. Although you were allowed to eat as you paint, I'm glad we ate before hand because painting can be messy and the limited space becomes another challenge. I found the instructor to be a little to fast. But that is probably a good thing or we would never finish our project. I like that we could take a picture with our phones of the project template we were going to paint to have as a closer viewing reference as we worked on our creations. The instructor made it easy to paint as she demonstrated each step she instructed. And it was a bit of a relief to see her work vary slightly from the template. The event had happy hour drink specials, and great service with both water and our ordered drinks. I'm also glad I didn't dress very fancy or in something I didn't want painted. It's only acrylic paint but dressing-to-paint is highly recommended. In the end I liked my finished painting and can't wait to try it again soon. read more

Do not book a party with this service. I was contacted by the 1800 number at the time I scheduled to be reached at but was never contacted by the rep in my area even though I reached out to her directly myself. Don't tell people they are going to be contacted same day when they aren't going to be contacted at all. Shame on you, zero stars and 2 thumbs down. Never going to an event again and thankfully I found a paint service with great customer service and awesome communication they will more than accommodate for my private party request. Buyer beware. Recently had my first experience. Have negatives and positives to say. 1) The venue was in a restaurant; so it was dark. 2) Had everyone sitting at tables so one hardly had any elbow room 3) The instructor was a bit difficult to hear. The only positive was once I saw my painting outside in the light; I truly thought "Hey this painting isn't as bad as I thought. Do not know if I will go again. read more

Don't do virtual classes with zoom!! I did last week and zoom app destroyed my laptop with hacks and no way to fix. I emailed Haymarket about this last week with no response. I was unable to see or hear the class and apparently can't get refunded my money for the class. Nobody at Haymarket is willing to talk to me about this problem. Too bad for them. I was a big fan of yaymaker, doing 4-5 classes a month, up until the beginning of this month. I had 2 classes cancelled due to the coronavirus and was sent an email saying that I should have received an email with my reschedule vouchers. I never got that email and that was 2 weeks ago. I have sent 8 messages thru their contact support link only to have received the same automated response 8 times. I have replied to each response saying my question was never answered and to get back to me. I have yet to get anything from anybody. They owe me for 2 classes. I currently have 6 paid classes coming up in the next month. If I don't hear back from someone, I will cancel all 6 classes and never go back. read more

Paint Nite can be a blast...and not so much. I guess it depends on the artist. When we go to Alley Katz, its awesome! Music, jokes, great vibe, good help. When we went to Orchid Thai (different artist) - it was horrible. No music. No fun. It was like high school art class........ok, so we tried Surf Extreme next time - FUN! MUSIC! great time, awesome instructions....then we went to Rocklin and the teacher was rude, rushed, and just bad mouthed other Paint Nite people?! I dont get it. I would definitely recommend Paint NIte - with the right artists...but I think they need therapy for their schizophrenia read more

Going to a paint night to paint and to create a work of art, is so much fun and creative. Being able to eat and gave a drink helps make the experience even more wonderful. Let me start by saying I have some artistic experience painting ceramics, but I have NEVER painted on a canvas before! My sister got me 2 groupons as a gift so I thought I would try it out. The groupons went through perfectly and me and my boyfriend (who has no painting experience) decided to try it out. I was really nervous that my painting would turn out terrible and just end up in the trash. But who knows, it could be fun, right? Well when we got there (at a pizza place) the front room was all set up for painting. There was an example of a "finished product" at the front of the class. Our instructor was super great. She walked us through the entire process step by step, explaining where to paint, how much paint/water to use, when to dip your brush, and actually painted a picture along with us, walking around the room to show everyone up close what she was doing. Her helper walked around the room and helped individuals who had questions or problems and gave pointers. An hour in and the background was finished! This is when we took a short break and I decided to get a drink, since the harder more creative part was next! After a 10min break we started painting the cherry tree while sipping my wine. We were given detailed instructions to follow, but also encouraged to just make it our own. I decided to put LOTS of cherry blossoms on my tree while others only did a few. We were done with out paintings by 9:15pm (we started at 7pm). I was so surprised how awesome my painting turned out and actually hung it up in my living room!!! My boyfriend's painting turned out amazing too even though he has no experience! Out of the class of 40 people, no two paintings were exactly alike and every single one was good! What I liked most about this environment was that it was casual and relaxed. The focus was on sipping your drink, relaxing, and having fun....not making a perfect replica of the example painting. The staff was super supportive and even all the students kept complimenting each others work! The only downside is that it normally costs $45, which I probably wouldn't pay. However they have groupons lowering the price to a more reasonable $25, and they gave a coupon code good for your next painting (making it $24.75). Drinks and food are not included, but they readily available at the bar, so you can get exactly what you want to drink. Signing up for the class was super easy too. Just go to paintnite.com and you can choose which area you want to search for. Then you can see exactly which painting will be painted on each date, time, and location. You can pick exactly what you want! I LOVED this idea and have already booked a second paint nite with a friend that's happening in a couple of weeks. I told my girlfriends about it and they are already trying to find an excuse to book a private event. I would recommend this event to anyone, an experienced painter or a first time painter. I absolutely loved it and can't wait to go back again!!! read more

I did enjoy the event, but did not end up sitting next to the individuals I booked with. All of us used Groupon vouchers so we had to use them separately. All of us have the same last name... Expecting either to be able to coordinate when we got there, or common sense to be used by coordinator (put the individuals with same unique last name together) we didn't specify who we wanted to sit with... Had an absolutely amazing experience making mosaic tiles today at Takakta Ya Restaurant. The process was simple and easy to follow! The staff, especially Davina, were extremely nice, patient and helpful. The mosaic tiles came out beautifully and I can't wait to go back and make more. I was in charge of organizing a team event and found Paint Nite. There was another company who I initially spoke to, but they wanted me to coordinate the event site (restaurant). I contacted Paint Nite, told them my location and they gave me a list of different venues to choose from. I told them my date and they coordinated for me. All I had to do was call their contact at the restaurant and pre-order food for my party. It couldn't have been easier. I was worried at first because my team is comprised of a lot of Type A personalities (perfect for the job we have to do). It was amazing watching my co-workers (and myself) experience that initial commitment of paint to canvas and then to have them let loose and let their creativity flow. I attended my first yay maker event, and it was such a Good time. I had no idea that my painting would turn out as good as it did. I have to give a lot of credit to the artist who taught the class. She explained each stroke, and took the time make sure that everyone was comfortable. She also had a great sense of humor. The waitress took our food and drink orders at our seats, I liked that. Paint Nite and Groupon? Awful experience. First, I bought the Groupon "Two Groupons: Each Good for One Adult Admission to Paint Nite - Paint Nite." When I redeemed it at Paint Nite I was told it's oonly good for one admission since Groupon gave only one code. What ever and however they set it up. It's not meant to work. I went back to Groupon who did not get back to me. So now I was to pay again since it's a partner painting. Never buy Groupon for Paint Nite. read more

I wish they would do more holiday paintings because those are the ones that get sold out the fastest. Make sure you sign up right away for a painting you want to do otherwise they get sold out!!! I never take the time out to do this but I absolutely have to at this point. I booked a paint night for the first time for my daughter's birthday because we can't go out (COVID-19). Paint Nite Yaymaker canceled the event due to an issue with the artist's Visa. I had booked 2 different paintings for the same night through Paint Nite and one reservation canceled but the other painting was by someone else and still open, but now I had to find another drawing through another company so we can continue with our paint night plans so my daughter's birthday wouldn't be ruined. The one that got canceled is the drawing she specifically chose! So when I tried to get a refund I emailed the wrong email & got an automated response with FAQ stating there are no refunds (didn't have that on their page when I booked it by the way). The correct email was provided if I still needed assistance. I've emailed 3x's with no response! This has been a horrible experience! I feel like I just got robbed. How are they going to hold my money when I didn't even cancel -THEY DID! I don't want to hold my money for a another time (especially during these hard times)! That wasn't the deal & I especially won't be using them again now!!! I wanted it for my daughter's birthday night and Yaymaker couldn't keep their end of the deal so I should get my money refunded. Totally unprofessional to be ignored in this matter and not get refunded. I didn't even cancel the other session I booked, which I feel I could have because they forced my plans to change. I kept it and looked elsewhere for another painting which complicated things. On another note, since I kept the second booking through Yaymaker but went through Pinot's Palettes to replace the one Yaymaker canceled, Pinot's ended up being way better, so I'm disappointed all the way around! read more

Very disappointed with the customer service at one of their recent events. I have been to multiple paint nights with competitors but we thought we would give paint nite a try. There were 4 of us who booked together but when we got there they "overbooked" and didn't have room for us. It was my friends birthday and we had drove 30 minutes to attend! The only thing that was offered was their managers card as well as an offer to rebook. Why would we rebook to have the same thing happen? I Left the manager multiple messages and never received a call back. If I were you I would skip this company and go to one of the many other companies who offer a much better experience! read more

For what ever reason, the instructor was not the one advertised. The dude we got was not professional nor was he a good teacher. The paint brushes were old and did not paint well. I did not get to sit with my friends even though they tried to tell the instructor there was three in our party. I will never take another class from this company. read more

I actually had a great time at Paint nite both times I went. At my second event I was told by the instructor that we could have a private function with a minimum of 8 people for $30 a person (which is the price I paid for me and my wife). I thought Paint Nite would be a great idea for me and my coworkers so I gathered 20 people and picked a location that Paint Nite frequently uses. I did half the work for them... I got the OK from Joe's Crab Shack to have it on a specific night and even collected half the money from 20 invites. When I contacted PaintNite some how the price changed and I needed an $840 deposit just to book the event. After explaining my situation to one of the coordinators (Susan) she assured me I would still be able to hold the event for the price that was expressed to me from jump. After 4 days of calling and no response, on the 5th day she finally answered the phone and stated that I would have to pay the $840 deposit (even though my party would only cost $600 total) or I could buy ALL the tickets for a Monday night event and she could change the picture... I didn't even want a Monday because of our work schedule and it was just the principle that she went back on her word after ensuring me it wouldn't be a problem. read more
