I have done quite a few paint nites but didn't realize they had a yelp listing until after this last one. Each time I've gone the staff has been stellar and the hosting bar has been more than accommodating. I love how playful the staff are and how willing they are to assist if you want a different color or shape than the one they are doing. Ive only done pictures in the "easy" category so they all have been pretty simple to follow along and recreate. Ive been to these events with friends as well as alone and have enjoyed it both times. With friends of course its fun to drink and create but alone I really got to work on my creation I also felt like the staff were extra nice to me when i went alone.. Over all I think its a great alternative to the traditional date night or night out with friends and I would recommend it! I will actually be back soon myself since i purchased multiple groupon deals :)

nice place for a date night. Everyone was very nice and welcoming being as we were 40 minutes late we were able to jump right in and catch up. The paint staff and the famous Dave's staff was very attentive. Will definitely be returning

I did Paint Nite for the first time recently and I really enjoyed it. You can always get a discount through Groupon or Living Social. You just pick the date and painting you want and sign up. If you have a large party, make sure to get there on the earlier side so you can sit together. The only negative is that depending on the restaurant or bar you're in, it's super hard to hear the instructor. They will often walk around and show you the techniques, but it's a pain if you can't hear too well. They let you be as creative as you want and you don't even need to paint the painting everyone else is doing. It's a great experience and it's even better that you get to leave with your painting. I highly recommend.

Attended an event at The Harp on Belair Rd. Instructor was very friendly and helpful. I was very happy with how my painting turned out. Only problem was the venue was over crowded. Several times painters accidentally painted on their neighbor's canvas because they were so close together the edges were touching. We didn't even have room to put our drinks without worrying about spilling them while we painted. I will participate again but will try another venue.

Booking the class was pretty easy online and they even offer discounts at check out so don't let the sticker price scare you! The only thing that bothered me was that the paintings don't offer a level of difficulty, I chose a picture for my party who hadn't done a painting before and it was a doozy! The atmosphere was really nice, a tight fit but completely do-able and made it more interactive (juggling a drink, a pallet, and brush!) The instructor was fast and for good reason this picture is hard! He was projective and fun. I wish he has a microphone head set and maybe up higher for us all to see what he was doing better. He moved fast, there was a lot to do in two hours. Overall I enjoyed my experience. Things I wish the instructor reminder us: to paint the edges of our pictures, sign it, and its ok to do things out of he box. He was supportive but had a lot to cover, a rating on the website might help beginners not take a huge jump to try this piece.

Different strokes for different folks..! Pub and Paint is absolutely amazingggg! My friends and I were feeling spontaneous and booked a paint night less than 12 hrs prior. There were available spots on a Monday at The Chesapeake Restaurant so we purchased tickets. The ticket included the canvas, the paint and all the subsequent supplies. This was our very first paint night - ever. I don't speak for others, but I am no Picasso or Van Gogh. Despite my lack of artistic talent, I was pretty excited. We arrived 30 minutes prior to the start time to take advantage of the Happy Hour deals (beer on a Monday, don't judge me!). Food was delicious, beer was even better. Brady, the instructor, was quite friendly and helpful. He was very instructive, encouraging and definitely created a fun and comfortable environment. The class was from 7 - 10 pm and time always flies when you're having fun and constantly having your beer refilled! I would definitely recommend Pub and Paint. This was an exceptional experience and I would do this again soon! Experiences like these remind me just how much I love living in Baltimore!

We paid just under $100 for an adult and kid. We came during the week (Friday afternoon) and were fortunate enough to have the space to ourselves. That meant we got to paint each other as well as the walls freely. We also got to connect our own music, which made for extra fun. Great bonding experience for sure. An hour seemed like a long time and we didn't use the entire time but we had a blast. They put your paintings in boxes prior to you heading out, so you don't have to worry about messing it up. Logistics: street parking nearby but if you can walk, that's more guaranteed. When you get in, you will get a suit, footies, and goggles. The person working let me know that the suits are resistant but not proof. If you soak them, the paint will come through. You've been warned. There's a coat rack and they'll give you a bag to protect your belongings if you want. There's a ring light in the splatter room. They have two gender-neutral restrooms and they also do neon paint and sips which look fun. I look forward to coming back. Every member of the team here was super nice.

By far, Party on the Avenue is the most inviting and memorable. I have been to POTA twice and both times, have walked away feeling satisfied. A couple of things you should know: 1. The party is upstairs - so if you walk in and no one greets ya... it's because who actually parties on the main floor? 2. The paints provided are legitimate paints. They don't run and it's not the cheap paints you get from these overpriced paint nites. 3. The canvas is flat, which is nice... especially if you want to frame them after you've finished your masterpiece. 4. Amy is so energetic and helpful. She always has a big smile and music playing, so she can dance her way around the paintings. 5. You can bring your own booze. SOLID. 6. These "parties" will last you a solid 3-4 hours, because you're usually relaxing and enjoying your time but you're also painting a more difficult photo usually. 7. The calendar on the POTA site let's you know the "event" days. My favorite, obviously is Paint your Pet night. Amy drafts up a pencil sketch or your pet and you paint it... really is an awesome experience! So who's ready to paint, hon?

I felt at ease because when people had "oops" moments, she never panicked with us. As a matter of fact, she really didn't see mistakes because its art. It was trippy with the black lights and projections on the wall of various etherial scenes. We all dressed up in the protective suit, googles and boots. The kids were a little small for the suits, but they managed to make it work! Once inside, you can throw paint all over, stomp on the artwork with your feet (a personal favorite of my kids), and twist the painting around to have the colors spread in all directions. We were joined by a staffer the entire time who took a few pictures along with a cute video. I recommend having the staffer snap photos with your own iPhone as mine came out a little better. But I did enjoy the video. At the end of the experience, they pack up the painting in gigantic pizza boxes. The paint is expected to dry in 24-48 hours, though ours took a much longer. I recommend putting the paintings outside on a dry day in the sun to help move that along. Granted ours had a lot of paint on it, but even after 48 hours it was super wet. This is a blast. And it's located in a classic 1990s mall. The kids LOVED this mall, complete with a Spencers gift store, bowling alley and reptile interactive experience. In fact, we'll probably come back here again once the winter sets in since there are so many things here to do with kids inside.

The studio itself is cute with tons of display pieces and splatter paint artwork for you to look at that gets you in the mood to paint! The splatter paint room had really sticky floors which kept ripping my painting boots off. The experience: The splatter paint experience itself was fun! Before heading in, you put on a big thin white suit with a hood, rubber gloves, rubber booties, and plastic glasses. Make sure to wear clothes you don't mind getting stained because the clothing they give you doesn't work well to protect your clothes. We had to spend a lot of the time cleaning up in the bathroom afterwards which definitely should have been avoided by the establishment. You get about 6 bottles of primary colored paint, a paintbrush, and little cups to mix the colors. However, you can't easily splatter the colors you mix because the paint isn't in bottles at that point. Only one paintbrush was provided with no water so we couldn't reuse the paintbrush. You have an hour to do it but you really only need about 20 minutes. They give you a big box to easily take your painting home in. The service: Terrible. We walked in and no staff member approached or acknowledged us until we said something. The first girl we interacted with was rude and impatient with us. The main guy we worked with explained all the rules and how tos in a very confusing manner and he also spoke really low which was frustrating. Our group of young women couldn't hear most of what he said and he didn't clarify well. Overall, I had fun splattering paint with my friends and will be hanging what I made but I don't ever plan on coming back here and wouldn't recommend it.
