Raul and his team did a couple of projects for us. He initially trimmed some trees that badly…read moreneeded to be cut back. His pricing was very competitive with other tree services that we spoke with. Not only did they trim the trees, but they removed a large tree from the backyard and ground out the stump. It was a good-size project, but they showed up early and completed the job in a single day. Raul also gave us a competitive quote on rebuilding our deck and pergola. We recently moved in and the deck was a bit long in the tooth. The existing pergola had rotted and warped wood with nails that were pulling loose and exposed. One of the things my fiancee and I appreciated was that Raul came by the house several times beforehand. He discussed our project and took a lot of measurements. He was also very good about picking up supplies that I purchased at Lowes / Home Depot. We asked Raul and his team to remove the pergola and replace it with a brand-new structure that was structurally sound and capable of supporting an acrylic plastic covering. They were also able to build the new cover with a 10-inch drop, so that rain water runs off instead of pooling on top. They also power washed the deck and repainted everything so that it matches the house and looks brand-new. His team added an outdoor ceiling fan and replaced several additional pieces of rotted wood on the stairs and deck structure. It was a large project that Raul and his team finished in just over a week, including some last-minute extras that we added during the project. He and his team were extremely professional -- and very reliable -- throughout. Raul consistently made sure that we had a chance to provide input throughout the process. He clearly takes pride in his work and wanted to make sure that we were happy with the project. The end result is a fabulous, well-built covered area that greatly enhances the appearance and value of our home. My fiancee and I would not hesitate not hesitate to use The Great Tree again. Quality Tree Service did an outstanding job trimming and de-mossing our five mature live oaks. They cut up left behind the big peices as requested for my smoker and hauled off the trash. The yard is cleaner then when they arrived and so is the roof over the garage. It also was the second coldest day of the year. I'm posting after pictures, wish I had before pictures to show the difference. My wife and I could not be more pleased.

I gave OCS a pretty large job last summer involving (1) the removal of a lot of small, unwanted…read moretrees from my back yard, as well as (2) trimming a few main oaks and (3) cleaning dead branches from the rest of the trees. I was quoted and paid about $2000 for the work, which was performed over two days. Item (1) above was performed as requested, but three beautiful shade trees on my fence line were also removed. The sun sets right behind those trees, which provided shade while I grilled in my back yard. Now I have to deal with the setting sun during the summer and three ugly 10" stumps on the ground. I feel like this mistake was a result of miscommunication between them as the trees did not bear any resemblance to the trees I wanted removed. The team did not own up to this or offer any remedy. I was out of town when they started, which they told me was fine, and they did not check with me before cutting these down. Item (2) was performed as requested, and the oaks look good. By the time item (3) was reached, I felt that the two-man team was exhausted from the prior work and in a hurry to leave, but there was still a lot of unfinished work. The trees were barely cleaned and the sun was setting. Cleaning up the ground and leaving was their main priority. I spent a lot of time thinking about whether or not to leave a review (8 months now). I'm not angry any more, but my back yard experience is seriously damaged and will continue to be until I spend a lot of time and money fixing it. I want others to learn from my experience and utilize OCS differently than I did. OCS is friendly and does good work, but I think that the two of them took too big of a job to do quality work on in two days. I originally thought to break the job up into phases (to control my own costs). I should have, as I could have had issues resolved before giving them more work. I also could have supervised better, preventing the loss of my nice shade trees. They are too small of a team to be working consecutive 12 hour days as they were obviously in a hurry to leave by the end. I would not hesitate to have them trim my oaks again, but larger jobs would definitely need to be broken up and supervised.
