Five stars for the shop window alone! I'm afraid that every time I pass by the store, it's either closed or I'm with my very naughty dog, so I've never been inside. But OMG that window! I've attached a couple of photos which don't even begin to do justice to the amazing handiwork that was on display just prior to Christmas. I really must make a better effort to visit, as I've noticed that the store carries Malabrigo and other yarn lines that I like very much. And btw, the neighborhood is totally charming.

A yarn shop that's less than 5 blocks from my apartment? Yes, please!! I'm fairly new to crocheting, but my brother and his wife are pregnant and I want to crochet a baby blanket for them. I've been getting my yarn from AC Moore, but it's cheap acrylic yarn and I really wanted something much nicer for their gift so I yelped and found this amazing little shop. The space looks small from the outside but once you get in and your eyes adjust, it seems to just keep going on forever. It's so bright and cheery inside, with the colorful walls and display racks filled with rainbows of yarn, that you can't help but smile. The owner, Donna, is incredible. She explained the basic layout of the store and asked me what I was working on and was more than happy to help me figure out the best yarn for my project (100% wool in the prettiest colors). She even helped me figure out how many skeins I needed of each color for the blanket size I'm making. After I paid, she asked if I wanted the skeins wound into a center pull ball. Umm, heck yeah I do!!! She offers this service for free and within minutes had each skein twisted into a center pull ball that is so much easier to work with. This store is exactly what I need for my hobby, from the pricing to the location to the friendly and helpful owner. Donna, you'll be seeing me a lot more!!!

Come in and shop, this is modern & fun, Dona is helpful! There is a nice sale section in the back. I especially appreciate that Dona is crochet friendly. She has good swatches and there is tons of friendly inspiration! She takes credit cards too.

You can't miss the HUGE colorful mural on the outside in the parking lot, but the RE itself is on the right side. Conveniently located by a 3 bus stop as well. I was in the market for some postcards and other papercraft supplies and brought some scrapbook paper I knew I wouldn't use with me to donate as well. The staff was very nice and organized. After seeing the true breadth of all of the various materials sold at the RE, I will definitely bring more miscellaneous craft stuff with me to donate next time. Have to make room for new stuff! I was able to purchase some postcards (they were 50 cents each or 3 for $1), a container to hold some of my other materials, and a set of Dublin stickers, all for $15 flat. Cannot stress enough how AFFORDABLE stuff is. In general I would say go in to look around and not want anything too specific, especially on a busy day like a Saturday, because it was a bit crowded. But they had materials truly for all typees of crafts: fabric, knitting, sewing, painting, papercrafts, jewelry, woodworking... as well as larger materials. Really affordable and hope to get the word out about this place! There are two gender-neutral restrooms located in the lobby of the building as well as part of the shared space.

It may be in Philadelphia, but this Christmas Market is so similar to one's I've been to in Europe. In fact, it's one of my favorites. As visitors from Hawaii, we had high expectations after seeing how great the expanded market looked on YouTube. We arrived around 5:00 PM, thinking we had about three hours before closing, only to realize that many of the stalls were already closed or in the process of shutting down. That part was a real disappointment. That said, walking the grounds still gave us a sense of how great this market truly is. The stalls themselves were fantastic, well designed, festive, and clearly packed with vendors we would have loved to explore if we had arrived earlier. We were still able to take some great photos, soak in the atmosphere, and even scored an authentic Irish cap, which ended up being the highlight of the visit. Bottom line, this looks like an awesome Christmas market if you time it right. Go earlier in the day, and definitely avoid the final evening if you want the full experience. We will absolutely give it another shot next year, just with better timing. Here's to next year.
