    Quality Home Inspections

    Quality Home Inspections

Our RE agent set this inspection up as we were on the west coast, in December…read more Once the report came to us, we negotiated the purchase based on the deficiencies noted. We are a military family, and now work for the Veterans Administration. This is not an unusual way to inspect or purchase a home for the military. Fast forward into 2024, and as we were having professionals come in, we were made aware of other deficiencies, that we were never made aware of. But the biggest problem was when we had nice weather and tried to open the row of windows along the back of the house. The rotten wood at the bottom of the casemate windows is shocking. Several are not even operational. There was no furniture in the home to block access to these windows. We have tried and tried to reach this company to find out why the inspector did not attempt to open, as per his own notes. Sent emails with pictures, and left messages. They will not respond. Which is very unprofessional. I have given them many opportunities to talk to us before leaving this review. Don't use this company. You will be very sorry, and will be wasting your money. We've shared these problems and more with our agent as well.

The inspection took about two hours and thats because they looked through everything and took the time to show us and explain anything the home needed! The full report was prepared before the end of the day which was also great.

What was promised as a smooth, professional roofing project turned into a prolonged, disorganized, and deeply disappointing ordeal marked by poor communication, repeated delays, and a complete lack of accountability. This was not just an inconvenience--it was an unacceptable experience that has left us extremely dissatisfied. Communication from both the project manager and crew was virtually nonexistent. There were multiple days when no one showed up at all, and other days where productivity appeared minimal at best. We were originally told this would be a one- to two-day project. Instead, it took seven days to complete what should have been a basic roof replacement. That level of inefficiency and lack of coordination is inexcusable. Even more concerning was the condition in which our property was left. Nails were scattered throughout the yard, debris was left behind--including cigarette butts--and there was little to no regard for cleanup or the safety of my family and pets. This created a legitimate safety hazard. At one point, a member of my household stepped on a nail. Fortunately, it did not puncture the skin due to thick footwear, but the situation could have easily resulted in serious injury. That level of negligence is unacceptable. To make matters worse, the roof was not completed as expected, and despite repeated attempts to get answers or support, follow-up from the company has been severely lacking. We were told multiple times that someone from upper management would contact us--yet weeks later, we have heard nothing. Instead, we continue to receive generic emails suggesting they would like to do future work for us, which is both tone-deaf and frustrating given our experience. While some form of compensation was offered, it was nowhere near adequate considering the delays, safety hazards, and overall lack of professionalism we endured. Overall, this experience demonstrated a serious breakdown in communication, project management, and basic respect for a customer's home and safety. I cannot recommend this company under any circumstances.

This made the symptom difficult to repeat as regular rains wouldn't cause the problem. We had a range of quotes from $700 to $3000 for rebuilding the suspect roof area to installing a larger cricket; none would guarantee their approach. Alpine Roofing offered a solution that they would warrant for half the cost of other estimates. It's not about fixing a leak the first time, it's about seeing the job through as promised. Alpine did that. The initial repair stood up to most storms. When we saw some water during particularly high winds, Alpine returned to expand the sealed area. They prioritized us even though many other jobs were in queue after the storm. Alpine identified the right fix, and ensured that fix stood up to the worst hurricane weather. They are the only Williamsburg roofer we'll use.

Ricky was able to diagnose the problem and get a cost estimate to our home warranty company that lead to the warranty company giving the maximum coverage provided, as well as get us scheduled for the repair the following week. When bad weather was predicted before the repair was scheduled to begin, Ricky was able to have Ben create a temporary fix that stopped any further leaking and provided coverage until he was able to do the full repair. I will be recommending Alpine to anyone who needs roof inspections, repairs, replacements, or gutter work
