In writing this review, it reminds me of how few times I have taken the time to do so, which makes this review so important to me. I have had experience before owning a number of properties, involved in new roofing, however, that was before the Pandemic of COVID and the subsequent changes in costs that exist today. A very sobering change to say the least dipping my toes into the pond again. I sought out a one-year period of a new learning curve where it is difficult to compare "apples to apples" so-to-speak. Early on when I was first getting estimates, I had the great fortune to meet someone who would make all the difference in my decision process. I went through a process of fifteen professional estimates, the word "professional" is used loosely here, as it was re-educating myself of the "new normal" in the industry. Fifteen estimates, you learn a lot of the shenanigans employed, of like a carnival shell game to deceive, all bait, to get a signature and then to "pad the bill". Some take your deposit and never show up, some do very shoddy work, some misrepresent the products being used, and many do not have the qualifications for the work to be done, all ending up in a nightmare for the consumer. I am writing this lengthy review, because I walked the walk and can talk the talk. I went to the extremes on all this research for over a year until I made the decision to spend a lot of money, and I am careful about money in "this day and age" of spending money. On my Bennett's Creek property in Suffolk, Va, and of the fifteen estimates it came down to five, then it became one, not by company, but by a salesman who had stayed with me throughout the whole process when all other fell away. Sometimes it is not a business, it is the person you come to trust. That person was Robert "Bob" Hall. Having my trust in him, I had my trust in" Chase Roofing, LLC., 1409 Oriana Road, Yorktown, Virgina. Chase Roofing is way beyond "Five Stars", incredible professionalism, a "World Class" work team of crews that amazed me in every way of how fast and hard they work, this work was done over seven days of tireless dedication in all inclement weather, they were actually working into the night in 27 Fahrenheit degree temperatures with windchills as I am on the water of 12 degrees. They worked with me in every way, helping me with the costs. I am so indebted to all those that worked so hard under difficult weather conditions to complete this project. We had a leak in our roof following a storm. Called Chase Roofing and upon a thorough inspection we were informed the place of the leak could be repaired but that the rest if the roof only had about 2-5 years left. We decided to go with a full roof replacement and we were glad we did. We were scheduled promptly, the crew arrived on time and were professional. The installation was completed in one day and they cleaned up as though they were never even here. I cannot recommend Chase Roofing enough. Originally, 2 projects supposed to be $94k, then it turned into $97k, then, Jose magically ran out of money and asked me to pay for supplies ($8+k), then, requested to add another $4k. Job supposed to be completed in 2 weeks, then 4, then 6 and on week 7 they abandoned the job without finishing it, taking materials I paid for, and/or refunding the money. I think some of these reviewers need to have a little patience. Our estimate was accurate and the final cost was per the contract. (They had to replace more plywood than expected.) The crew arrived when expected and finished in one day except for one little area that they finished early the next morning. The roof looks great and has no gaps that we can see. We don't expect any leaks and are pleased that their work is guaranteed. They cleaned up after themselves, including the leaves on the deck! We appreciate Chase's extra effort to find the color we wanted. Nantucket Morning was initially nowhere to be found. The ladies in the office are great with communicating details. Seems like a racket. You pay $70 for an estimate which could be credited to the cost of service if you choose to go with them. The thing is Chase would need to follow up with you but they don't. I had the initial call out on Dec 18 and as of today Dec 28 I have not received any estimates. Most of these roofers operate the same way. Some local guys don't even return your calls. I wonder if it's seasonal, maybe they don't wanna work in winter time? In the mean time, my skylight is leaking every time it rains. read more

I called Chase on a Wed for an estimate to have my roof replaced and the girl said the salesman Mike can come Fri (2 days later). Mike did in fact come to my house, but the experience with him was not pleasant. He started by asking me if there's anything he needs to know? You know what, YOU are the salesman. You tell ME what I need to know! Tell me WHY I should give my business to Chase, how long it will take them to do the job, any warranties for labor and material, the difference between 3-tab and architectural shingles, etc. It was like pulling teeth with him. He then said he will take some measurements and "disappear" for a while and that he will email the estimate to me by that evening. Well, OVER A WEEK later and I never heard back from him. Never received the estimate! If that's how Chase treats a potential customer, I'm afraid to know what would happen if I had a problem with the actual installation, or God forbid, a roof leak 12 months later!
