Since I was doing the commute from LA to LV, I wanted to destress with a blow out. I chose the Artistry based on their proximity to my hotel and their fantastic Yelp reviews. While the confirmation email mentions the hotel (The Westgate), no other information was provided. When I arrived at the hotel I didn't see the salon listed on any of the signage at the Westgate, nor did the hotel's concierge know of this business. Finally I visited their website and noticed that '3rd floor' was stated at the bottom of their webpage. When I made it to the third floor, there sat the Serenity Spa? The only reason I thought this was mislabeled was because I had seen photos on their Yelp page that showed the same windows. I no joke had to do detective work to find this biz. I showed up to my appointment barely on time (despite arriving to the hotel 30min early) and incredibly stressed, especially since they have a strict refund policy. I'm assuming that the salon is largely meant for hotel guests who see the space and book while visiting the pool. I just wish they made it easier for those of us staying offsite.

The first review spoke about how the stylists discussed how difficult my hair was to blowout while working on me, leaving me feeling uncomfortable and guilty for even coming in in the first place. Please be aware if you have any texture or thickness in your hair, you will be disappointed. Every time I've come in, I've left notes for the staff to give them a heads up that I have thick and curly hair and to please give whichever stylist a heads up. If, for whatever reason, my hair is too challenging to work on, I'd rather them call me to tell me and cancel my appointment instead of wasting my time. Today, was my final straw at this location. It seems like no matter what, the staff is always struggling to blowout my hair. You'd think between 3 different stylists my hair would turn out looking somewhat decent.... you'd be wrong. I knew as soon as they turned me around in that chair that I'd have to come home a fix my hair, which is exactly what I had to do. The 2 stylists were in a rush to leave to their other commitments, which I totally understand. But, if everyone is in a rush and there's no one to take over for them then the quality of the blowout falls through the cracks.
