Because of those positive experiences, I felt comfortable bringing my current dog here. Unfortunately, my recent experience with this new groomer was completely different and deeply disappointing. I took my Great Pyrenees in for a routine groom and removal of a few mats. What should have been a simple appointment turned into a painful and distressing experience for both my dog and our family. When my dog came home, it was immediately apparent that something was wrong. His haircut was extremely poor, but that is the least of my concerns. The groomer severely injured his ear, which has since become infected and required veterinary treatment and antibiotics. In addition, whatever was done to his feet left him in obvious pain and very anxious requiring medication for anxiety. For days afterward, he would yelp and pull away whenever anyone touched his paws, and he was unable to enjoy his normal walks because of the discomfort and even had difficulty standing long enough to eat. A professional groomer should never send a dog home injured. Accidents can happen, but the extent of these injuries is completely unacceptable. Watching my dog suffer from something that was entirely preventable has been heartbreaking. I am sharing this experience to warn other pet owners. If this review prevents even one family from going through what we have experienced, then it is worth writing.

Dr. Farr and her team were incredible from start to finish. The communication, updates, and genuine care they showed made a stressful day feel so much easier. What stood out most was how personal the experience felt. I never felt like just another client or that my puppies were just another appointment. It was clear that Dr. Farr and her team truly cared about them and understood how much they mean to me. When I picked them up, I knew they had been well cared for, and the thoughtful follow-up afterward only reinforced that feeling. My brother was staying at our house with our two dogs. Two days after we left for our two-week vacation, on July 4th, the air conditioner in our house broke. On a holiday and with a 7-hour time difference, we had to make other arrangements for our dogs. Happy Tails not only answered my texts first thing in the morning Dallas-time but they allowed my brother to drop off our dogs, even though they were closed. I had no idea how long my dogs would be there but they assured me the dogs could stay as long as we needed them to. We were in communication throughout the week as the repair status for our AC changed and Happy Tails was so responsive and accommodating. Every business has had to adapt and adjust the way they interact with their customers, patients, or whatever. Going from normal to locked down there was no time to prepare and is a learning process for everyone. Even customers have had to adapt. We had never dropped Tate off by himself for an appointment at a Vet before. Always stayed while vet did examination/shots. I can only imagine how confusing all of the new covid protocols are for pets and owners. Metro has taken care of Tate and treated him and us (his overly protective dads) very kindly. And with compassion. The communication at metro was lacking a little at the beginning but they have more than made up for it. We lost (Zero) about 4 years ago after a friends, much larger, dog bit him dog on the head. Zero was only 5 when it happened. We got Tate shortly after he had to put Zero down. Unfortunately because of that we are a bit overly protective with him. We had gone to Metro a couple times in the past and never had an issue. The 2 previous visits, years ago, were great.

We went there in June 2024 to check what is wrong with Walter, since he was vocalizing at night rather often. Jennifer Hewitt prescribed him Methimazole. After treating our cat with that medication Walter felt really bad, started to hide like he is about to die. I cut the prescribed dose in half and gave him also not every day how that doctor said, but every other day, and still he felt bad. She prescribed him 2.5 mg twice a day. Then started to give him 2.5 once a day, the 2.5 mg every second day. But he felt worse and worse. Before that treatment Walter would run occasionally around a house, like all cats do. But not anymore after that deadly treatment. In March 2025 Walter passed away.

After we decided it was time to put her down we decided that we were going to do it at Metro Paws and I don't regret a single thing. The genuine care for her was absolutely amazing. There was peanut butter and other treats in the room when it was time, the lights were dim and even though they closed 12 that day they did not by any means rush this devastating time. Along with her urn box we received a little bunch of her fur in a jar, a certificate of cremation, and a cement paw print. 2 weeks following they sent a card signed by all of the employees and it also included 5 pictures of her paw and nose prints I can't even express how happy I am with this vet.

They determined it was a clean enough break to cast him and let it heal on its own. My kitten was so crafty he escaped his cast several times but the staff was kind enough to let me bring him back in to rewrap it. After a week of that, they xray again and determined it was healed enough to let him go without it but to keep him calm in a room without stuff to climb and jump on. Walter is lucky he's a kitten and healed quickly! The staff was so friendly and welcoming and answered every question I had about my kitten as well as the costs along the way. Everything was laid out before I signed for treatment. Overall great experience. Thank you!

The staff is incredibly friendly and attentive to my puppy, who thoroughly enjoys her time with the staff and the other dogs! They even celebrate birthdays! I really appreciate that they have the dogs on a regimented schedule instead of confined to one playroom room all day. The dogs have personal time, indoor play, and outdoor play time (each with similar sized dogs). For personal time, each dog has a roomy open-air suite with food/water bowls, a bed, and toys (if you opt to pack them in their daycare bag). For flat-faced breeds like mine, they provide slanted bowls. Although there aren't livestream cameras, the team posts photo dumps to the Facebook group every afternoon (see examples)! Also worth noting, the team is quick to flag any upcoming vaccination needs or behavior changes. They keep a very close eye on the dogs. Lastly, the hours they offer are unmatched. Drop-off opens at 7:30am and pick-up closes at 7:45pm. In summary - The attention to detail that the staff has is exemplary, and their patience and love for dogs fosters a tail-wag inducing environment!

Accidents, late feed times, anxiousness and furniture damage. Not with Maggie. When we come home, Julian and Lucy are on cloud nine. We can tell, they have been catered to.
