Stay away, they are not trustworthy and dealing with them is a waste of time. Marcus came to our house for an estimate, I showed him the entire backyard and explained the work that needed to be done, which was minimal. We agreed on a price for two monthly visits that I thought was already pretty expensive and on a start date. Before they even came for their first service visit Marcus texted me saying that after looking at property pictures again (he never took any pictures while he was here), he determined that he needed more money and increased the initial quote by almost 25%. It's a total bait and switch. We will look for someone else who is trustworthy and keeps their word. read more

They were very efficient and did an amazing job getting the sprinkler heads I wanted and coordinating the best placement. Marcos and his team are outstanding! We hadn't had a yard clean up in over one year. Yard Techs came in and expertly cleaned it up which helped us sell our home. Very knowledgeable about our plants, and the most reasonable monthly clean up charge we've had in our 16 years in Coronado. I had bi-weekly yard maintenance service from Coy Land Techs. It seems they stopped caring after they got our business. In their last visit, they stayed less than an hour, barely doing anything. When I went to water my plants the next day, I found 20 caterpillars eating my plant and it was in very poor shape. When I asked them if they saw any pests they said they didn't. When I showed them pictures of all the plants that weren't doing well, they blamed "poor install" when I literally had some of these plants for years. Then they said there's an invasion of pests, when they said they didn't see any pest when doing maintenance the day before. Contradictory information. I can no longer trust my yard to them, so I cancelled. Their quality of service is not worth $100 per visit. See pictures for the problem plants they said that had no pests. I don't think they know how to take care of plants. They just want the easy trim hedge jobs. read more

Marcus and Yard Techs were OK. He acts very professional and has a nice electronic payment setup and scheduling system. His communication with me was OK but the people who came to my yard to do service seemed to just be on autopilot and didn't respond to requests or directions. They were always very pleasant, but they didn't seem aware of conversations I'd had with Marcus. I had to ask three separate times, in writing, for them not to trim our palm trees and was ignored the first two times (despite getting assurances from Marcus) and then no apology whatsoever. They trimmed other plants that shouldn't have been trimmed - cutting branches off delicate fruit trees when they were only supposed to be trimming some bushes. If you just want routine maintenance of conventional landscaping their service is OK but if you would like to have a gardening service that will respond to requests and do things in a particular way, these guys probably aren't for you. read more

I have a giant yard with many fruit trees and lots of vines that grow like crazy. I hired Coy Land Techs to do a one-time complete clean-up that included trimming everything, weed eradication, and clean-up. Marcus, the owner, met with me and we discussed the services in advance. They did such an amazing job. I now have them on a monthly plan where they come every 2 weeks and mow, tend to weeds, and do a clean-up. Marcus communicates well and addresses any special needs. I would not recommend working with this business. After Marcus and his team did a clean up of our garden in our new home, several of the initial items we discussed were not completed because they did not have enough time. We hired them for biweekly maintenance ("68 minutes every two weeks") and were told that they would finish the initial clean up during the first visit. After the first visit, it was unclear what had been accomplished other than mowing a small patch of grass (and leaving all of the clippings) and giving our Cyprus tree a REALLY bad haircut. I reached out to Marcus to ask what was done during the time his worker was at our house and why the rest of the work wasn't done, why our beds were full of weeds and leaves, etc. Well, apparently you can ask this man to clarify things or where your money is going! He snapped at me, told me the issue was the fact that our trash was small and around back of the house, and "fired" us as clients after I suggested that I should be around when his people were at the house to answer questions and bring around the trash can. I hired a new gardener who came in and pointed out several places where Marcus and his team had cut corners, traumatized bushes by cutting them with the wrong tools that left the ends of branches frayed, didn't clip the palms close enough to the trunk, misshaped our hedges, and all of the rubber debris left from their cutters. It's going to take some time to clean up the damage done, but I'm glad they fired us when they did because nothing was hurt too badly by having them come once! I would say this guy is a bit temperamental and despite seeming professional from the logo-ed vehicles and high end invoicing system, is not professional at all. I've hired Coy Land Techs multiple times and they never fail to impress me with their overall knowledge about irrigation and yard work. I purchased a home with a shotty irrigation system that contained an old hub and Marcus was able to rewire and upgrade my irrigation system to a wireless console. As a new homeowner, he also provided tips and tricks on how to manage my water usage. Now that I am selling the home (because I'm moving to a different state) I hired him and his team to clean up my front and backyard since it was a huge mess after the long raining period. My backyard was full of tall weeds and the grass hasn't been mowed for a while. My potted plants were also completely disheveled and choked by the weeds growing in them. Marcus and his team worked expeditiously within their estimated time slot to remove and repair everything! They completely cleared the slopes of unwanted plants, mowed my lawn which now looks like artificial turf because of how even and neatly cut it looks, and repaired my potted plants! . I can't express how grateful I am to have found this business because they go above and beyond to help their customers and ensure your yard is well taken care of. They are also super honest and upfront about pricing and let you know what the costs will be before starting any work. I only wish I can take this business to Maryland with me :). read more
