Since Ronnie was the fourth landscaper that we had met with, we can definitely say that his pricing is both reasonable and competitive. During the installation process, Ronnie and his team did a great job of keeping us informed of what was being done and they also left the work area very clean at the end of each day. He is very particular with his plant selection and also pays attention to details during installation, which makes all the difference in the design. In the end, our yard turned out AMAZING! Within a week, he'd drafted a drawing, had samples of plants and an estimate. Once I was ready to proceed a few months later, it only took them 2 days to complete the job, which included removing all of the plants and trees, and adding new shrubs, flowers, pebbles and a large boulder. After seeing the post on Instagram and Facebook I knew I could go there and man, was I excited! A lot of people (locals) do NOT know this either... FYI marketing social person. I went this afternoon and fell in love with the place. It's on the feeder of 45 coming into Galveston and has everything you need. It's small but mighty. And, it has such personal touches like you would at your own home; it's just soo zen. I met David and Dianna Estraca (owners who opened in 2002) and I was immediately impressed with their friendliness and customer service. They were literally hands on in their plants...and in the office, etc Diana was gardening and her husband David had just returned with supplies. All of this I saw first hand and it gave me a sense of pride for them. They appreciate everything they have and the people who patronize their business. I met Jared (horticulturalist) who is friendly, knowledgeable (and, so cute!) Ha! I did miss meeting their fun social guru, media person, Karla...because of her social media posts ...I found out the public can shop here just not wholesalers, etc A lot of lay people as myself didn't know the public can shop here...FYI I fell in love with this nursery and their people... friendly gets me each and every time. I've been a fixture at Tom's Thumb all this time (owner, Peggy Cornelius -no relation to new owners) retired this year and the small town (local feel) is gone. Still a beautiful nursery that I won't turn my back on just yet...but, Earth creations you are my new zen spot. I sat in the rainbow swing today and watched the traffic go by. Job Date: 7/2/2012 Project cost: $14,000.00…read more Description of work: They rebuilt the roof on my 1200 sq. ft. workshop. This included removing the old roofing, decking, ridge beam and rafters; reframing the roof, hurricane strapping, re-decking and laying on a new Timberline roof. Overall, I couldn't be happier. Their crew was out bright and early a few days BEFORE what I was expecting (based on what was specified in the contract), and by the end of the first day, all the roofing and decking had been removed, picked up and was ready for disposal. The second day was miserable - rain on and off - and bless their hearts, instead of getting out of the rain, they stayed up on our workshop spreading a huge tarp I had over our belongings so they would not get wet, THEN they got themselves out of the weather. This, in my opinion, was "over and above" what I expected - especially when they did this several times that day. The third day was much better, and for the rest of the week - clear skies and a lot of work. By that Friday I had a new, stronger roof structure installed and decked out. Saturday, the cornice crew came out and trimmed out everything, installing new Hardee board soffits and fascia and the following Monday the roofers installed our new roof. They laid approximately 16-17 squares, and stayed with the job that day till it was completed. Tuesday was some minor clean-up, a final inspection and close-out. Would I hire them again? Most definitely - as a matter of fact, here's my comments on the second job John did for me . . . Job Date: 8/10/2012 Project cost: $9,000.00 Description of work: This was the second phase of our workshop rebuild. In this part, John's crew stripped the old siding and storm sheathing off my workshop's walls, installed new storm sheathing, Tyvek house wrap, trim and Hardie-Plank siding. They finished up by painting the workshop to match our house. My workshop was pretty much ruined during Hurricane Ike (6' floodwaters). I had started some remodeling and repair work shortly before the hurricane hit. I was removing old weathered T-111 siding, removing windows, reframing and installing new OSB storm sheathing. About half of the structure was in the new OSB storm sheathing when the storm hit. Unfortunately, due to the massive amount of damage sustained to our house, my workshop had to wait till now. By the time I was in a position to rebuild my workshop, all the "storm-chasers" and transient carpenters had moved on to other projects, and construction contractors were somewhat harder to find. I had recently heard about "Angie's List" and decided to give it a try - this is where I found John's "Green Leaf Contracting" company. John's crew restored my workshop in two phases. First phase, which I've already reported on, consisted of rebuilding our roof structure and installing a new 50 year Timberline roof. This last phase involved stripping all the remaining old siding and storm sheathing down to the wall studs, installing all new storm sheathing, wrapping the entire structure in "house-wrap" moisture barrier, installing Hardie-Plank lap siding and painting the entire workshop. What was nice about this phase was we had some concerns about leaving open areas in the walls overnight (vandalism). I expressed these concerns and John's crew made sure the building was secure every evening before leaving the job site. As with any construction job, there is always going to be some clean-up afterwards and his crew did what I thought was an exceptional job of cleaning up. I had jokingly referred to my workshop rebuild as my "Sow's ear to Silk Purse Project". John's crews really did pull it off!

My neighbors tree had been dying for years. This tree was on the side yard and many huge branches…read moreextended over our property. My neighbor did not want to share in the cost of bringing the tree down so I contacted several tree companies to bid on branch removal. Daniel with D&J Tree Service was the first to respond and he was able to give me a very competitive proposal. Since the branches were already falling on occasion, Daniel and his crew removed them the same day. I also had a second tree of my neighbors that was over my fence and rubbing my house. D&J removed these encroaching limbs. I had D&J remove one small palm tree on my property that was leaning so far over that it was going to fall over soon. D&J cleaned up and hauled off all limbs and debris from my yard and my neighbors yard. It was a fantastic experience. We've made plans for D&J to perform some future lawn work.

The job was completed that very same day with awesome results. Its has been awhile since I can once again go in my backyard with a cup of morning coffee and smile. Work done Huge over hanging oak tree pruned with just the canapy of foliage left ( exactly what I wanted). Crape Myrtle pruned and cut short to my liking Jasmine Corkscrew Willow was over grown in hanging over 2 of my neighbors fence. Tree pruned with just the canapy foliage left ( tree is now straight up with no encroachment into neighbors property) All of my flower beds dug up and reworked with weed blockment and weed boarders. All mulched. Ugly brick planters demoed and taken away. Area cleaned and all cut limbs hauled away. GREAT JOB DANIEL, ALLEN AND JOSE(aka Angel Eyes)! Would hire again and recommend!
