We had a great experience with the 2 brother owners - installed a beautiful VT granite post and mailbox with lettering & a cedar cap. Their mailboxes in my neighborhood say 'this homeowner is discerning & cares about the beauty of their property'. The workmanship and attention to detail is superb. Have admired their mailboxes expansion in our neighborhood for years whilst we kept patching ours every 3 yrs. Mailbox & post survived the horrible '25-'26 winter snows. These guys are innovative and have developed great solutions like their stabilizer system/handmade bracket in back is the secret to the superior lateral strength, plus is an American flag holder. They developed a plastic sliding tray for a short armed person to pull mail from the back towards you (ran out of the molded ones). They use quality, heavy duty stainless steel hardware that spread the load out. They wax the mailbox so it's super shiny & nothing sticks to it (use Meguiar's Ultimate Quik Wax spray). The mailbox system is not cheap, costs over $1K, but it's beautiful, door works magnetically & easily, they wax it for you, put a cold patch & tamp it down hard if going into asphalt. An issue with address sticker bubbling & lifting off was fixed quickly. A neighbor with a Yankee mailbox had plow hit it, with the bracket dangling & it was fixed next time we went for a walk. This should be the last mailbox you order for decades. They installed w/in a week of ordering. We used this process and got great service right away from the Yankee Mailbox owners last summer: Get order form from Angel's Garden Ctr in Hopkinton, fill out & have Jeff Doherty, Angel's owner, fax your order to Yankee Mailbox. If you have Jeff get involved, he can help with the communication part to the Yankee owners. We double counted something and Jeff corrected the error. I got email directly from customerservice@yankeemailbox.com within a week. Definitely opt for the reflective letters, visibility helps the plows not hit your mailbox at night! In all they came 3 times as the latter 2 were to bring the mail tray & then to redo the bubbled up lettering. I placed an order 3 days ago. I have not gotten a response. I sent another. Nothing. One phone number the mailbox is full. Alternate number is out of service. As we live up the street,so my son decided to take a ride over. At first he could not find it. He knocked on another business's door and was directed to a trailer down behind another building. No one was there. I'm canceling my order. It is a beautiful post and mailbox but is it worth the aggravation? read more

Yankee would not come to do their agreed to estimate appointment unless my wife was also in attendance. Both my wife and I told them clearly that due to her work commitments, she did not want to be part of the estimate process. We also did not want after hours or weekend estimate appointments. Also I explicitly told them that I was the economic buyer and decision maker. After being told all this, they still insisted my wife be there. They did not listen. Got the feeling that they would not be a good provider partner. So I disengaged with them before we even got started. read more

I used Yankee Mailbox a couple years back, and after reading reviews knew what I would be dealing with. A good product but poor communication. I wasn't in a super rush at the time so dealt with it. But after a truck took out my post early this week, I am without a mailbox and now need a quick response. Four attempts and no answer. This company's customer service is non existent. You can see the consistent reviews on all the review sites with others having the same experience I have had. They do not take any phone calls, and 100% will not return a call if you leave a voicemail. Same thing both years I have contacted them. They have a "contact us" link on their site but also do not respond. Even when you use their online system to place an order, good luck in getting any correspondence on a time frame for instal. There is literally no way to get in touch with them. I also own a small business and am completely mystified at how they haven't improved on this with years of similar complaints and feedback. Go elsewhere, as there are several other good companies in MA that actually value their customers. read more

Update: 5/10/18: True to their word, Yankee Mailbox did come out today to install my mailbox. It is beautiful. Absolutely stunning look. Great craftsmanship with quality materials and installation. I am certain it will look great for years to come. I've amended this review to 4 stars. The only negative was the lack of communication earlier in the process. I do believe the wait was worth it in the end. If you have patience, or maybe order during the spring/summer months (when installs can happen quickly), the finished product is beautiful and will be an instant improvement to your yard. Update: 4/30/18: After leaving a voicemail and follow up email pleading for a response, Yankee Mailbox did contact me this morning to indicate that they would come out to install my mailbox on 5/10. I'll update once the mailbox is installed. Looking forward to a beautiful result Absolutely terrible customer service. I ordered a mailbox on March 6 and received a confirmation on March 8 staying the mailbox would be installed within 4 weeks. As of today, I have left 2 voicemails, 3 emails, a "contact us" form submission through their website, a Facebook post, and a private Facebook message. I have not received a single response to any of it. From what I can tell this company is no longer in business. Their website cites many happy customers raving about the customer service, however I have not experienced any of that. All I want is a response to my emails or phone calls with an updated estimate on when they might come to install the mailbox. Initial install was amazing. Box got damaged and tried unsuccessfully for three months to get a response on repair. Just moved and I would love to have another mailbox but won't give them the business after being ignored on the repair. read more

I placed an order for a mailbox on March 26, 2018 (after reading favorable reviews on the company's website). They (or their computer)quickly confirmed my order, saying Yankee Mailbox would install my mailbox within 4 weeks. For the next six weeks: 1) they never showed up or contacted me, 2) they never responded to my email inquiry, and 3) they never answered the phone. I just sent an email to cancel the order so I could use another option. Very strange. I saw a recent post by someone else who had the same experience with Yankee. Do not bother ordering your mailbox from here. I placed an order on March 10th and received a confirmation email on March 11th that stated the mailbox would be installed within 4 weeks of ordering.. Fastforward to today when I have not heard a single thing after emailing them three times (April 8th, April 18th, and April 27th) and left a voicemail asking when I should expect the box/post to be installed. I'm really surprised by the negative reviews on here. We had a Yankee Mailbox installed at our last home and absolutely loved it. After we moved, we knew we needed to get another one. In fact, when we pulled up to our (now) current home during the open house, the first thing I commented on was that it needed a Yankee Mailbox! Finally at my last straw with the wobbly mailbox & post we inherited from the former owners, I ordered a YM online in early December. I honestly expected the owner to reach out and tell me I would need to wait until the spring, however, he and his crew came out to Sterling on Dec. 13th to install it. They worked well into the dark, in the freezing cold, and got it installed. It looks beautiful, and is incredibly helpful this time of year when we are all getting more mail and packages (the size of the mailbox is very generous). As I said before, I have ordered from them in the past, and if we move again, we'll order from them again. Their product is far superior to the other offerings in the market. A bonus to us is that they removed our old box & post for no charge. I have had some issues with their emails going to my junk folders, so for those of you who feel like you haven't heard back from them, be diligent about checking your junk folder in your email. We were very fortunate that we didn't have to wait long for installation, but I will say this: if you do have to wait 4 or more weeks, I can guarantee that it is worth the wait! It is a beautiful product and really does help contribute to a nice sense of curb appeal. read more

I've used Yankee Mailbox twice in the past 20 years. Our first mailbox and post lasted 20 years. We recently had a new post and mailbox installed by Yankee and it is gorgeous! It stands out among the other traditional mailboxes on our street. It was installed 3 weeks after ordering it, as had been promised. The installer left things exactly how he found them. Unfortunately I've had a similar experience to other reviewers. My mailbox got knocked over by a truck. Ordered a new one to be installed through Yankee Mailbox. Three weeks later there has been zero communication from them. My voicemails and emails went unacknowledged. Now I am getting really worried because the ground will freeze soon and I can't get so much as a call back from this company. I wish I had checked Yelp before ordering! read more

I contacted Yankee Mailbox to install a new granite mailbox post and mailbox on May 4th. The website indicated it would be installed within 3 weeks which was a main reason for setting up an order with them. I received a confirmation e-mail 2 days later that it would be installed within 4 weeks. But that did not happen. I contacted the company and they gave me an exact installation date of June 15th. It's June 15th and no installation and no contact from the company. Follow up. They arrived at about 8:45 PM on the 15th in the dark and did the installation. Imagine my surprise. I don't know how the could see well enough but I'll be able to see it better in the light. But from what I could see in the available light, it did look good... read more

My mailbox got knocked over this winter too. I have been leaving messages and emailing to their service..email per the voicemail instructions since March of 2019. Todate no answer at all. We were thrilled with both the customer service and the quality of our mailbox we received from Yankee Mailbox. Scott, the owner, was especially responsive to our needs. When he and a colleague installed our mailbox, it was clear that they took much pride in their work. All materials are American made. Once my mailbox was installed, Scott took a cloth to make sure our mailbox shined. Then he put an American flag onto the beautiful granite post, as a finishing touch! I think they must be out of business, because I have left multiple messages, voicemails and sent multiple emails trying to reach someone. In January our Natick mailbox got knocked off of its granite post by town plow trucks, and we contacted Yankee Mailbox and received a quote to fix it, and then they TOOK OUR MAILBOX and said they would come back out to do the new install "when the ground thawed". The ground has definitely thawed. It's almost June. But Yankee Mailbox is NOWHERE to be found, and they STILL HAVE OUR MAILBOX. All I've been asking for in my messages is SOME TYPE OF COMMUNICATION to let us know when they can indeed come and do the service they have already quoted us on, but right now, I can't reach anyone and they are holding our existing beautiful mailbox ransom. Yankee Mailbox -- I will update this post to reflect proper customer eventually received, but you've got to at least communicate something to me! read more
