I'll update after install, and I hope this review improves, but so far, the experience is not good. Sales is super helpful and communicative UNTIL you give them your deposit. Then, after you have given them thousands of dollars, they drag their feet and refuse to schedule the job until you jump through additional hoops that were never spoken about prior to the 50% deposit. And since they have your money now, with little way to get out of it unless you sue them, you have no power to make them do what they are supposed to do. Even after that, more over-promise and under-deliver. they convinced me to let them install ahead of another yard contractor, saying they would do install the next week if I let them go first, and then backed out on the promised timeframe via text after it was too late to get the other contractor (landscaper) back in time. (and the delay will likely now turn into AT LEAST 2 additional weeks because the following week is now supposed to rain all week. I paid them over a month ago. I still have no fence and no scheduled install date. - Please don't hire these scammers. Or if you do, don't pay them a cent without a guaranteed install. read more

Colonial Fence is one of the best companies I have ever worked with. From my first phone call to the end of the project they were totally professional. They answered any questions we had and gave us great advice. The work crew was kind, respectful and hard working. They stayed for 12 hours to complete the project. The fence looks great! We had multiple companies give estimates and they beat them all by a lot of money. Their timeline was also about 2 weeks where other companies quoted 8 weeks. These guys were a class act. I had been soliciting bids on a small fence job (60' white vinyl picket) from several local fencing firms. Found Colonial originally on Angies list and they quoted sight unseen (which I initially didn't like). While visiting one of the other firms I happened to be driving by Colonial and stopped in, they pulled my quote and walked me through the process, the materials, options, etc. The team was helpful, knowledgeable, and professional and I decided then to give them my business. They did great work, showed up when they said they would, and the front office has been excellent to work with. read more

Wow, what a rude guy we just dealt with here. Went in to shop for a mailbox post. Wandered around inside for about 5 minutes before the guy came over to the counter (he could see us the whole time and the place had no other customers). My wife asked about the difference between two different types of vinyl posts could be made of, and the guy shot back "They're just two different products. That's it." and glared at us. Sorry bub for wondering whether they have different wear properties, etc. Next we asked if a flower box could be added. "Sure." Okay.......do they do that? "If you want one you shop for it online and do it yourself. That's it." The tone was utter condescension. We left. Would have bought something here, but don't want these guys to guys to get our business. read more

They did an awesome job on the white vinyl picket fence at our house. And the price was awesome! I had quoted many other fence places. We had the fences installed off the back corners of our house to the property line and it was on a hill. I was nervous it would come out looking odd but was SO happy with the outcome. We also were in a rocky part of town and I felt so bad for the worker who spent a lot of time pulling them out but he was so nice about it. The sales person was very nice and answered all my questions up front. We have since moved and will be in touch with them again to fence in our yard at the new house! read more

A few months ago I had about 300 feet of vinyl fence installed by Colonial. I just had another 200 feet put in. This time I had to be on vacation while they worked, but I wasn't worried. Ken Sr, who runs the show, had come by and walked the border of my property with me. He understood what I wanted. He also made good suggestions. The route of the fence was staked out, including the 8 foot tall part. Short story, I got back from vacation and it was perfect. Colonial uses a high quality vinyl that looks strong, solid, and attractive. I couldn't be happier. Great guys. Great comany. read more

Their vinyl gate door busted again today with one gust of wind. The hinges are spring loaded but the cheap vinyl cannot handle any wind. Very disappointed and am leaving the gate door off as not spending there again to get another cheap gate panel!!! Thought I was buying a fence for twenty years and already having to replace gate door again. Quality of product is not what I expected!!!! read more

I quoted out 5 different fence companies in the area for a large fence - chain link & vinyl. Prices ranged from $7,000 - $13,000. This company was at the lower end and seemed very professional. The fence came out beautiful, their timeline was accurate, and the quality of the product very good. I would definitely recommend them. read more

I've been having a lot of work done on my home and Colonial Fence are the only people I've hired that have not disappointed me. Because I work from home I'm able to get a lot of estimates and Colonial blew the competition away with their prices. Definitely the lowest estimate by half. Of course I also wanted a high quality vinyl fence and I got that. The guys who installed the fence were friendly, capable, and reliable. They also did extras that I wasn't expecting. As a business owner myself, my expectations are very high. It's rare that someone can meet my expectations, and even rarer to exceed them. Colonial Fence exceeded my expectations. I really give Colonial Fence 0 stars, but had to put in at least one to be able to post my comment. Customer Service is nothing I have ever witnessed in my life. When checking upon status of a gate that was not installed properly by Colonial Fence, I was yelled at and told never to call back again because they don't want my business. He referred to me as "lady" while yelling at me. He said they had a lot going on because of Hurricane Irene and would not give me a status as to when they could get back to fix the gate. I am still in shock by the way I was spoken to. Absolutely disgusted! read more

Colonial installed my pool fence back in 2011. Great job and happy with results. I called last week to get a quote for another fence. I told the salesman with an attitude I needed a 40-50 foot border fence installed he immediately said he could not help. When I mentioned Colonial originally installed my pool fence low and behold they could help with the new fence. Not sure why. I proceeded to provide my info to the salesman but I couldn't take his attitude anymore. I told him thanks but no thanks. While hanging up I heard him actually swear at me. I called back and left a message with the owner but its been over a week and still no return call. I guess its true companies take on the personalities of their management. Outstanding job installing two lantern posts surrounded by sprinkler heads. Colonial came in right on time and proceeded to fix a mess created by a "friend" who supposedly knew what he was doing. Both posts were put in perfectly and all debris from the past job was picked up and taken away. Very happy with the work and would highly recommend to others. read more

I went into Colonial Fence to replace a post cap on my ten year old vinyl fence. I was rudely told they would not sell me a cap because I didn't buy the fence from them. I didn't even get to discuss my second reason for going there. I was also looking to get pricing on some new fence. After I was told no the salesperson just dismissed me and walked away.
