My endo specialist, Dr. Elizabeth Poynor recommended me to Dr. Larish. He is a fabulous surgeon, super smart, and accommodating. My appointments have always been on time. The nurses are great as well. After Dr. Larish gave me my pass maker, which is works amazingly, he called several times to check in and see how I was doing. When I started seeing doctor Larish he was in house with my insurance a few months later I saw him again.. and he was out of house.. but I called made my appointment.. saw him and then was informed they don't take my insurance. Okay. He preformed surgery on me for a stone. He promised he would be there when I woke up. Groggy from surgery I was told he left early... I had questions and concerns that went unanswered. I was in excruciating pain for days and developed a yeast infection from medication I was put on. Not ever seeing or having one before I had no idea. Desperately called his front desk for answers.. anything.. please.... was rudely asked "didn't he explain this to you!??" Uhm no I wasn't told anything... I ended up in the ER because of my pain, symptoms and lack of knowledge. Does anyone want to be in an ER after paying for a 5th ave urologist out of pocket??? He has a nice manner and seems funny but to this day whenever I think about him or his office I feel a pain in my kidney!!' No joke I'm traumatized! Maybe he didn't like me. Maybe it was a bad day but all in all I am deeply hurt and worried. I see a new urologist who is absolutely horrified by my story. He is accessible, personable, knowledgeable and has a great sense of humor to boot. He handled my complicated kidney stone issues. After filling out some basic information I was called right away. Dr. latish took the time to talk to me, not just ask me what was wrong, but actually talk to me and build a rapport. As for the reason for my visit he assessed what was going on and frontloaded some of the pertinent information even before the exam. THE BEST DOCTOR FOR KIDNEY CANCER Dr. Larish saved my life and helped me get through my Diagnosis of Kidney Cancer with laughter and understanding. I can not say enough good things about this doctor. I am so fortunate that I was referred to him by my oncologist. First of all Dr​ Larish is an excellent surgeon who put me at ease the very first visit. He is one of the best surgeons for Kidney Cancer and not only did he put me at ease but was able to make me laugh several times. Words can not express how grateful I am to this doctor. There are a few things that he did that really made a huge difference in my recovery. First,​ he told me I had a choice to get my kidney removed or to try to save it. He was very upfront with me how intensive the operation would be if I chose to save the kidney but in the long ru​n saving the kidney was a more difficult route but ensured that if​ cancer ever came back that it could be easily removed again without risking my life. I chose to save my kidney which he recommended. The procedure was intense but Dr. Larish visited me in the hospital every day I was in the hospital. I was really impressed that such a busy doctor would take the time to visit me each of the 5 days I was in the hospital. He encouraged me to get up and walk and actually helped me out of bed and waked with me down the hallway. He has such a good sense of humor that even such a intimidating diagnosis as Kidney cancer we found a way to laugh about it. He made me realize that even though the diagnosis was serious that it was easily addressed by surgery and that even though the recovery process is intense at the end I would be cancer free with two functional kidneys. I can't tell you how grateful I am to this Doctor. He took his time to help me understand the procedure was there every day of the recovery process. His nurse visited me several times before I was released to ensure that I knew what to do when I went home. In addition,​ his partner Dr. Glickman visited me every day as well. Dr. Glickman was part of the surgery and helped me through the recovery period as well. There wasn't a moment where I felt that I wasn't well cared for and that my doctor was on top of my recovery process. All of this was treated with a light hearted sense of humor which enabled me to laugh and realzie that I just had to get through a very intense operation but that the kidney cancer diagnosis was operable and that after I had recovered I would be cancer free. I couldn't imagine a better doctor and highly recommend this doctor if you have Kidney cancer or have a spot on your kidney. Dr. Larish is also one of only a few doctors who are​ skilled enough to remove a kidney tumour​ "off clamp." I learned how important this is through his careful explanation​ of the procedure. The important thing is he is so good at what he does he can remove a tumour​ without​ clamping the blood supply to the kidney. This is crucial as I had 100% renal (kidney) function after my operation so the kidney's function was not damaged at all during the procedure.​ Most doctors clamp the kidney while removing a tumor which damages the renal function. Dr. Larish is one of only a few that will perform this procedure "off clamp" which results in preserving the kidney's full function. In Larish's words "we are trying to save the kidney so I perform the operation off clamp so the kidney's function isn't damaged." I've done a lot of research and Dr. Larish is the only doctor I could find who would remove a Kidney Tumor off clamp with minimal blood loss. Dr. Larish saved my life and he also helped me get through a very difficult diagnosis and procedure. Words can't describe how incredible this doctor is and I am so grateful I was referred to him. If you have a diagnosis of Kidney cancer Dr​ Larish is the doctor to go to without hesitation. I couldn't imagine a better doctor who was more skilled and more importantly helped me emotionally through this difficult journey. He is the best, the most attentive and made the process so much easier. One thing I recommend is you will have the option to have a plastic surgeon​ close the wound. I didn't realize just how big the incision is for this operation. You will want to make sure you opt to have a plastic surgeon​ close the wound. Even if a scar won't bother you I highly​ advise getting a plastic surgeon to close the wound. Dr. Larish advised me of this. Trust, opt to get the plastic surgeon​ to close the wound! Dr. Larish will talk you through the entire procedure but it involves several surgoens as a team. The team approach ensured that there was a specialist to perform every step of a very complex procedure. I can't stress enough how detailed and how he was there for every step. I made an appointment weeks ago for a convenient time and location, downtown NYC East Village in the evening. THE DAY BEFORE, provider canceled me and moved me to a random time at a random, far away location, without speaking to me. Worst of all, the new appointment was for the very next day and hadn't I noticed the minute they changed it, I would've been liable for a "late cancellation fee" since it was within 24 hours. I called the scheduler and she did not care whatsoever about my care. She said she'd put me on some random waiting list, but when I pressed, it turns out there wasn't really a waiting list and she was just trying to get rid of me. She was rude and dismissive. She chalked it off to a doctor having a death in the family, but when I pressed again, it turned out that they have not even been scheduling this doctor at the location that I booked for WEEKS and didn't even care that people were booking there! It was a scheme to be able to reschedule them at the far away location without even speaking to them!!! People can't even leave proper reviews because they cancel before they're eligible to. Oh and guess what? The latest appointment they can ever do is M-F at 2:30. NOT ONLY ENTIRELY DIFFERENT LOCATION THAT WAS POSTED, BUT ENTIRELY DIFFERENT HOURS, RUDE AND FLIPPANT DISMISSIVE SCHEDULER AND WAITED UNTIL THE VERY LAST MINUTE TO RESCHEDULE ME WITHOUT SPEAKING TO ME, EVEN THOUGH THEY KNEW THEY WERE GOING TO HAVE TO RESCHEDULE ME TO THIS LOCATION FOR WEEKS, SHE SAID!!! read more

Dr. Larish was exceptional. He spent his Saturday night off performing my ureteroscopy. He was extremely knowledgeable, patient, attentive, funny and made me feel at ease. It's a shame I haven't gotten a chance to meet with the dr himself. I give one star for all the frustration it's been to book an appointment with this office. They say they're available on ZocDoc but the front desk doesn't ever confirm these appointments. They even changed a 5 pm appt which was available on ZocDoc to 2:30 pm a week after booking probably cause they didn't check their ZocDoc notifications. But I did call numerous times and left messages and never got a call back. That's not how you treat any patient, especially a prospective new patient. I've worked as an office manager in a dental office and know how ZocDoc works. ZocDoc has been notified about this nonsense and were kind enough to send me an Amazon gift card for the trouble. Notifications must be checked first thing every morning to avoid overbooking the time slot. The front desk is obviously not good at their job. Not a hard job at all!!! UPDATE 1/31/18: The office's automated confirmation system just tried confirming the original appointment that the office rescheduled without my consent. This shows how behind his staff is on going through their ZocDoc notifications. I never OK'd the switch from 5 pm to 2:30 pm. I cancelled that chance they made without my consent to a more suitable time that is convenient for us. They ignored that change which was made over a week ago. TERRIBLE!!!!! 2nd UPDATE 2/1/18: Rebecca called this morning to confirm the appointment that they rescheduled without my consent after I left a message yesterday telling them I never agreed to that appt time and that I had rescheduled twice over on ZocDoc because they never confirm. All she said was oh ok. She wasn't even confirming but trying to get me to come in even earlier in the morning. Original appt was 5 pm. They switched it to 2:30 pm and then today she says the dr had an emergency and needs to leave earlier. I worked at a front desk and that's what drs say on Fridays when they want to get their weekends stared earlier cause they don't have enough patients booked for the afternoon. At least I got to speak to a human weeks after trying to get in touch. This office needs to figure out how to handle patients. They lost one new patient and hopefully others are warned by this review. read more

I am writing the post as someone who shared this experience with my partner. When you hear that your loved one has cancer or potentially does you feel like your world has stopped, what you looked at as a priority is no longer a priority and this sense of fear covers your body like a shroud. Doctor Larish and his partner Doctor Glickman were absolutely incredible. The level of Care, the INCREDIBLE bedside manner, Thoughtfulness and Love helped guide me/us through an extremely rough and uncertain time. I really thought i was strong enough to handle this and when i began to feel unsteady the level and support i received on a consistent basis was par none. They saved my partners life and i don't know how to put this into a review, but i will be eternally grateful to the men and woman on Dr Larish and Dr. Glickmans practice as they gave me the best gift of all in saving my partners life and for that i will be eternally grateful.
