First time at this restaurant. The service was prompt even thigh it was fairly busy on a Saturday afternoon. I ordered the vegan chicken in curry sauce with boiled rice. It was tasty and a decent portion. However I did find a stand of white hair in the chicken which was a disappointment.

I wish I had the balls

We came in a big group and chose this place in the Trafford centre because it was packed. Always a good sign , so I thought. Abit pricey to be honest they had a set menu but nothing on it that was amazing in my opinion. The menu is huge! Had the war tips (pork fried dumplings) which where good but the sauce that came with them was awful it was like vinegar.. I thought it was soy and dipped the whole thing in it and immediately spit it back out. I got fried squid tenticles that where like rubber I could have bounced them off the wall and I told the waiter and he asked did I want some more? I couldn't help but laugh he just walked off and it was still on the bill at the end even when I left the full plate.. They where unedible! The Peking duck was good but nothing we haven't had before! Staff just smile and ignore you and rush you out the door by placing the bill as they lift your plates.

There are two camps of thought about all you can eat bufffets: 1) amazing value because for £6 you…read morecan begin sedately with some chicken and sweetcorn soup, move onto finger lickin spare ribs, tackle the main courses, having as much sweet and sour chicken as you like (and if you are anything like me, this is a LOT) chow mein, beef in black bean sauce....are you hungry yet Then you can cleanse your palate with a fresh fruit salad or get even fatter and have a cake from the selection. 2) You are being ripped off because seriously, after one full plate does anybody have room in their swollen stomachs to risk making another round? This food is rehashed rubbish and has been left out for a long time to catch a nice dose of salmonella. I am a devotee of the first ideology and I think that followers of the second school of thought are weird. I am sorry but are you mad? Did you see the sign? "All you can eat"....ALL YOU CAN EAT. Years of training have given me the ability to expand my stomach size by 300% and I can have firsts, seconds, thirds and Dessert quite comfortably thank you very much. I have often performed this talent at Pond Quay where the lunchtime buffet is served on Mon-Fri from noon to 3pm. The staff there know me well- I am the greedy girl who ignores slightly judging looks from the waiters and waitresses as I stand up and saunter over to the buffet table for my third and fourth time. The food here is good, not amazing, but tasty Chinese cuisine. My only complaint is that children are charged £4.95 and adults £5.99 for the buffet. There is not enough discrepancy between these prices and believe me, I can eat at least 27 times more than my munchkins. Pond Quay is a a pleasant, clean restaurant, nice decor, red paper lanterns and friendly staff. It also has a takeaway service and delivers after 6pm. The Mother in Law loves it.

Have ordered take aways from the pond quay on many of occasions and always tell friends and family…read morehow lovely the food is. After putting an order in tonight for nearly £45 I was not happy as it was poorly made .. the crispy beef was burnt and the noodles were half soft then crispy dry in the chow mein which has never come like that before (usually soft and very juicy). After giving the pond quay a ring to let them know I was told basically 'oh well nothing wrong with the food' and they were going to do nothing to rectify this also no apology which I think is very poor customer service. I will not be ordering from pond quay ever again and will never recommend ( after all the money I have spent in there over the years annoyed is an understatement) I

This is the Chinese take-away we use most often. Whilst this is a very good take-away it is not hte…read morevery best in the area it has one fantastic advantage-THEY DELIVER! Ideal for those can't be bothered nights. Delivery costs £1.20 (within a three mile radius)40p per extra mile. Both delivery drivers are really nice and the service is very prompt. They have the usual stuff you would expect to find on a Chinese menu although the starters are rather poor for vegetarians one tip NEVER EVER have the crispy seaweed-its awful. For some unfathomable reason they put sugar on it. One of the best features about the menu is the main course menu(this is in addition to the sweet & sour, house special, egg dishes, fried rice, fried noodle and curry dishes) this comprises of a list of mains-Fillet Steak, Beef,CHicken,Duck,King Prawn,Char Siu, Mixed Vegetables and special combination(Beef, Char Siu,King Prawn and Chicken) You then get a choice of sauces including Black Bean; Satya, Garlic and mixed veg and Garlic & Broccoli(my fave) The overall effect of this is that vegatarians such as my husband have a far wider choice of dishes on offer. The quality of the food is good and the food always arrives piping hot. Prices are arround the £3-4(excluding stuff like fillet steak and duck) with rice at £1.30. Sometimes take-away chips can be a bit if a let down,Not these lovelies though, there chips are totally FANTASTIC. Even my take them or leave them husband can't resist the chips from this take-away. Wonderful. The staff are lovely on the phone and prices very reasonable-just don't eat the seaweed though!!

Incapable of getting an order right. Ordered Szechuan house special and got chicken in a weird…read morebrown gravy sauce. Had to take it back. Got home opened the food carton and discovered it was the same order I had taken back with some prawns, beef and char sui now added. The beef was a washed out grey colour! Grey beef! Prawns were barely warm and the char sui had a visible white vein running through it, obviously an extremely cheap cut of meat. Now to the sauce, as you may well know Szechuan sauce is a vibrant red coloured sweet and spicy sauce. Mine consisted of a brown sauce with some red chillies and tasted kind of like gravy. Wrong on every level. Binned it. I will never order from there again. Ruined a rare Saturday takeaway. Do yourself a favour and order from somewhere else instead. Complete waste of money.

It's our…read morefamilies 'go to' Chinese takeaway (I'm really sorry Mrs Lee at Davenham's Sun Ho - I love your special fried rice - please forgive me). It's small, family owned and consistent. Consistently brilliant. Our usual order is as follows: (feeds 3 adults and one bottomless-pit Brother) - Sweet and Sour Chicken; it's honestly the best I've had anywhere. Ever - Char Sui Roast Pork; again, amazing - Soft noodles; with bean sprouts and onion - 2 Egg Fried Rice or 1 Chicken/other meat Fried Rice; Tasty, non-greasy - Prawn Crackers - and one other main dish that we choose at random The family/staff who work here are friendly and super organised; when you arrive for collection (they don't deliver) the orders are spread in a fan over a silver tray - they know exactly which docket to choose from the delicately arranged pile, they pop into the kitchen and out with a bag of take-out-container filled joy. You can also opt to eat in. The restaurant is fairly small but the service is exceptional and the food is wonderful regardless of where you eat it. Car parking can be a little tricky at busy times. It's just off the main road with the car spaces in front. It's tight squeeze to manoeuvre if you're wedged in nearest the house. Also, watch out for the sneaky traffic light camera as you approach. But hey, even if you do get flashed on your way to mouthfuls of heaven - you're the real winner here.
