My wife visited earlier in the week and very much enjoyed her meal, so we decided on a takeaway at the weekend.
The food is delicious, finely balanced and fully flavoured, freshly prepared and enjoyed by even the smallest of the three children (1year old).
The Malaysian hot-pot style might be some kind of Lancashire-Malay fusion dish, but it was very more-ish and served well the next evening too! The soft vermicelli rice noodles were also very good, and the sweet & sour pork was brilliant.
They do a full coeliac menu and see to pay very close attention to detail in making sure it is safe for those on gluten free diets.
So-far, so-good you say, why only three stars???
Well, firstly, when you put on your takeaway menu that you deliver within two miles for a certain fee plus 50p for every extra mile beyond that, you should do it, not suddenly claim that four miles is too far to deliver.
Then there's the price: When ordering a takeaway, you generally don't expect the price to be as much as a sit-in meal... Including service!
The main dishes were fairly averagely priced, a bit on the expensive side, but £3.10 for a portion of boiled rice and £3.80 for noodles!!!!! That smacks of racketeering, charging as much as you can get away with charging, and stinging the diner in the pocket for something that is very often included in the price of the meal at most restaurants.
I might consider eating here or getting take-out again, purely because the food was completely yummy, but I'd get a bag of basmati rice and cook it myself to go with the main dishes. read more
