Requested a deck quote and setup an appointment. Eric Kent from Deck Plus came and I explained what…read morewe were desiring and when I thought my end vision was understood. He asked how we wanted to move forward and I said please prepare a quote to which he responded "I don't do that, I can give you a ballpark and if your serious I can be more detailed once you want to move forward". I responded in surprise so what what is your 90% ballpark estimate as we discussed (understanding minor adjustments and design changes can change cost as well as materials prices). His response was 30k so I asked he email me it as we discussed to confirm the size and design and again he said I don't do that and if you want to move forward we can get more detailed. I asked him directly " am I detecting an attitude in your responses as my desire is to make sure we are on the same page. If I can't get the estimating person to provide a basic estimate to build off with out a tone that I should just agree and hand him my cash is unacceptable. A basic estimate would have taken him maybe 15 minutes and would lay out timelines, payment schedule and clarification on what the 30k provides is not to much to expect. Under no conditions would I agree to any work where I get a fraction of my desires addressed / confirmed understanding and then be spoken to like "agree to us doing it then we can address your questions with a condescending tone. I thanked him and walked him to his vehicle. I called the office and explained my dissatisfaction and refuse to use a company that the sales person can not keep his frustration in check and forgot I am the one paying for the project and not some guy on the street that was interfering with his day. Attitude and respect sets the stage and if providing a quote is an annoyance, then don't advertise a free quote (perhaps the old saying you you get what you pay for is true, I paid noting and got my money's worth). I would prefer to pay for an estimate fee and feel my desires were heard and understood as I make my decision. George

I generally leave positive, generous reviews, but I feel obligated to warn others…read more In the last five years, we've completed over a dozen major construction projects across two properties. This is the first time we seriously considered terminating a contractor mid-project. Communication was consistently poor, the project schedule and material ordering were severely mismanaged, and the crew showed up only six days over an almost two month period in the summer when the majority of work should have been completed, contributing to turning what should have been a three month job into a six month project. Job-site cleanup was not maintained, significant errors were made, and there was resistance and defensiveness when those mistakes needed to be corrected. Rather than taking accountability, the company disputed issues that were clearly the result of their own lack of oversight and execution. Overall, the level of service, organization, and workmanship fell far below what we've experienced with other contractors and what you would expect at this price point.

She said she will have a man named* Alex to meet me at the property. In short, I returned her call and told her 3:00pm would be a good time to meet and she said she would call Alex; right after we get off the phone. She said she would need to confirm with him, if 3:00pm would still be good for him. I said ok, that sounds great! I waited until about 2pm to receive a call back from Karina. No call back was given to me! So, I called her and got no answer. I called repeatedly and finally Karina picked up and she said OH, I forgot to call you back! Karina didn't say... "I'm sorry ma'am, I ..." But she said hold on... I heard talking, in the background, I assumed it was business BUT no LOL. Karina came back to the line and said... I ordered some food that was my food order! All while "me" the customer was on the line. Karina said yes he will meet you at 3:00pm! I confirmed the address with Karina again and I said thank you and hung up. My husband and I went to that property at 3:00pm and no one was there! So, I called Karina and she did not answer but she did text me the number to call Alex myself, so I did. When I called he said OH yeah... as he too forgot as Karina did earlier. The man said OH yeah; I will be there in a few. I said ok and confirmed the address with him and... It was NOT even the address I gave Karina. So, I told the young man, I don't think this will work, sir. He said OK and hung up! WOW! He didn't say I'm sorry or... Can we meet another day...? This place isn't professional AT ALL and I want to make sure everyone knows this before wasting GAS, money and or time, like we did today! If I could give zero stars, I would!

We were looking for a replacement of small deck and i was quoted (over…read morethe phone, didn't even offer to come by) double the material cost of other contractors AND I was told that they deal with larger projects. I'm pretty sure that's why he jacked up the material quote over the phone. So............if you aren't swimming in cash and your project won't bring these snobs at least $15K look elsewhere. Looking at the other two reviews on here, I see I'm not alone. I was quoted $15K for a 100 sf deck....check elsewhere folks.

We signed a contract w Deck Creations in Sep of 21, they promised to start no later than 16 weeks…read morelater and started about 30 weeks later. They promised a completed project 4-6 weeks after starting and finished in about 18 weeks. During that entire time we had both a large dumpster and porta-potty in our driveway. We engaged them to design/build both a composite deck and paver hardscape area. During the deck construction the subcontractor was fired and at least one inspection was failed by the county. We were contacted directly by the subcontractor about re-hiring them, this made the situation particularly awkward. The deck was finished by another contractor who had to tear down at least half of what was previously done. The hardscape area was completed by a single subcontractor. The resulting space was short about 2.5 feet in width, leaving us ***** sq feet less room around the fireplace than contracted. This was space was especially important to us since it is around the fireplace(center) of the hardscape area. During the process I never got the impression that our project manager had command of the project or was really looking out for us. Ultimately, Deck Creations admitted that the space was indeed short the space around the fireplace sitting area as designed. They offered no remedy, only to waiver the small final residual payment and leave the project. I honestly believe I would have ended up with a better outcome by hiring subcontractors on my own. I also regret not taking the time to understand the details of the contract they had me sign. In hindsight I should have paid closer attention to the extensive protections afforded to them at my expense.
