To keep a long story short, we…read morehave been with them for about 1.5 years and granted numerous chances to establish and maintain our front yard. It took three tries for them to remove rocks and seed our yard correctly (one time they put dirt on top of rocks, such a shallow layer that the yard was crunchy to walk on and had to start over; another time they admittedly forgot weed control and had to start over again). It did eventually grow but then was mis-treated and all died. The photos are the state of our yard when we finally ended our services. The worst thing is they were still coming out and "mowing" and charging us with no response to my texts about the state of our yard. Would strongly encourage folks specifically in need of lawn care to look elsewhere.

This guy, Steve Hill, is the furthest thing from professional. If you call him out on unfinished work, he just says you are being too mean and that he's ending the conversation. Basically, he is either a delicate flower that can't take a negative response, or a conman that uses that as a way to get out of owning his mistakes. Overpriced and lackluster work is how I would describe the actual work. Not to mention the poor quality of the sod. I sincerely hope this place is no longer is business 100% is this company. I cannot tell you how many times friends and neighbors have said "you've got the best backyard in Raleigh." Steve Hill is a straight shooter, made common sense recommendations, kept his team on track, and brought our project in on budget and during the time promised. If we had punch list items months later, he took care of them. If you want it done right, at a fair price, I'd give Turftenders a call.

The yard looks amazing, and Corby was a pleasure to work with throughout the entire process. He really listened to what we wanted and kept us involved every step of the way. We explained that we want to get away from grass and that we don't use the irrigation system that came with the house. Even though we were out of town while the work was being done, Corby kept us updated with photos and texts throughout the project. He even checked with us on the placement of a few of the larger plants before installing them. One thing we especially appreciated was his thoughtfulness. We had a large amount of pine needles that needed to be removed, and instead of hauling them away, he offered them to a neighbor who could use them. My sister was at our place and told me that Corby was very conscientious about locating and avoiding the irrigation lines during the installation. He was also extremely knowledgeable about plant care, including deer deterrence, watering requirements, and ongoing maintenance. What also stood out was his vision. He suggested incorporating boulders into the design, and at first we weren't entirely convinced. The more we talked about it, though, the more we could see what he had in mind. The finished result adds character and interest to the yard and feels much more unique than a cookie-cutter landscape design. Corby does outstanding work and is truly a joy to work with. I highly recommend him and his team!

Our requirements were that the plantings be deer and drought resistant since we aren't here in the summer and that we have a minimal amount of grass that wouldn't need watering. We liked Paul right away because he listened to what we had to say. At the same time he didn't do anything we asked for. Later on, I suggested a design element and he politely told me it wasn't a good design and he'd come up with an alternative. I liked that. One of our requirements was that he put in smaller plants or plants that spread to keep to our budget. and he did this. Our property is on a hill and we have a lot of serious drainage problems. Paul's design dealt with the problems and directed the run-off to the woods. His installer was also extremely knowledgable and had worked with Paul for many years. During the installation, he was friendly and went to great effort to find blue stone for the small patio that matched the stone in the 40 year-old path to the front door. The stonework for the small patio and a couple of retaining walls is fabulous. We watched and it was done with great care. We've hired Leisure Landscapes to do our ongoing yard maintenance. We couldn't be happier with the results. He accommodated the playground that my husband had built, and created a design that is welcoming and fits with the house. I'd recommend the company highly.
