Yanagi Ramen made fans of me and my girls back on July 20, 2024. This modern Asian restaurant is in a newer plaza of Lubbock, TX. We were seated right away and had very nice, fast service. We ordered: Edamame $4.99 Black garlic ramen $13.99 Seafood ramen Edamame $16.99 Build your own ramen $14.99 I liked how they served an empty bowl on top of the little green boiled soybeans. This not only kept them moist from the kitchen to the table, but instead of using the same plate upon which they were served we used the bowl to discard the empty shells. I highly recommend the black garlic ramen. I had pork with mine. Their pork was very tender and delicate. The bowl was quite the chore for me to finish so I'd probably skip the edamame next time. Lol. The only thing that disappointed me was the women's restroom which was a single room with the toilet and sink. I do not think a single restroom particularly for women was enough especially when I simply needed to wash my hands. Great stop for lunch. Free, ample parking out front.

We were hungry for some asian food for dinner. We ordered Ramen, hibachi chicken and chicken nuggets for my son. They were all very tasty. Nice ambiance and great customer service. Will be coming back definitely.

This is hands-down the best Ramen in Lubbock. Talk about authentic! On my first visit, I didn't actually have ramen. Rather it was the chicken katsudon that really called to me. That wasn't bad. The rice was high quality, but I knew I had to give them another shot to try out the ramen for an honest and true assessment. Cue visit number two. I led in with the perfectly pan-seared gyoza, the best way to start any ramen experience. These were absolutely incredible. Then the ramen. I had the spicy curry ramen and it was flawless! All the right ingredients and proportions. A perfect broth with the right amount of creamy and oily to it. The only thing that would have improved it would have been a bottle of shichimi togarashi on the table. Their menu also features a ton of other sides, starters, hibachi, and sushi. One particular roll had me very interested, so I'll be back for that, never mind the ramen. Prices are average and well worth it for great food. Staff was also great and friendly. Highly recommended for your ramen fix!

Ramen 10/10- packed with flavor, perfect heat. If I returned it would be just for the ramen only Jalapeno bomb 2/10- lacked any flavor and hard crunch jalapeno. Zero crab taste and only cream cheese with no flavor. Pork buns 6/10- lacked flavor and minimal amount of meat for nearly $10 for two buns. We each had one slice of meat. Cups- the cup I had still had lipstick on it, husbands had food on rim. Clearly thrown in dishwasher and not actually scrubbed. Forks had food stuck to them. Bathrooms were yucky. It was cold outside but so hot inside it was uncomfortable with people fanning themselves.

Katsudon, omelet beneath is so soft and flavorful

This review is from a visit in December of 2023. Solid ramen option in Lubbock, been consistent since the last time we came. BMW roll hits, and chicken katsudon is delicious with a nice fluffy omelet underneath. You know when you go to a restaurant a couple times and then it starts to become a staple because you can vouch for its consistency and quality? That's where we're at with Yanagi-- great Japanese food for a good price that'll always hit on a rainy day. Competes well with Asian hotspot ramen places in LA or Dallas. We haven't had that ever in Lubbock, so I'm very happy with this restaurant.

Yanagi's is a nice, new place with subtle asian decor. The menu was full of options. The server didn't get the build-your-own ramen bowls correct, but the other food was delicious. Not everybody in my party liked the food, so I'll have to return on my own for a chance to try some more tasty food.

The order came out at a decent time, and our server was very attentive and nice. My friend and I both enjoyed our meals! I really liked the beef on mine.

Nice clean, modern environment! The selection menu was very diverse! I got the bento box which has a variety of foods! Others ordered the Ramen bowls and they were very tasty. Food is a little pricey but well worth the cost! Waitress was very attentive!

I ordered the Special Fried Rice and there is absolutely nothing special about it. Every cut of beef was fat and there are no spices or vegetables in the Special Fried Rice. It's bland and pathetic. That's my last visit to this restaurant. read more

It is a beautiful restaurant. Ramen was disappointing. I live 6 hours and came to town to visit family. Have been looking forward to eating here. The broth had no flavor. Chicken Katsu was a bought chicken cutlet and was very dry. When we left the hostess was sitting in the waiting area texting in her phone. Said noting when we left . The soup was not over-salted which made it better than other ramen places we've tried, and the clam meat, scallops, and shrimp tasted nice. Also, the prices were reasonable. The salad had a ginger dressing which was excellent. This was a nice variety of foods and perfectly cooked! For dessert we shared some green tea ice cream which was beautifully presented in a martini type glass and topped with whip cream. The ice cream was not strongly tea flavored as I've been accustomed to. But it was green and very good as well. I'm looking forward to returning to try other dinners.

A few pieces of old rice from the night before in the middle of the grill. The food cart was disgusting. Old food grime everywhere. Thank God the food was on trays. The pepper shakers were all corroded with old food, so the holes were plugged. We checked 4 different shakers, and all were the same. Food from the night before still on the floors. The bathrooms were sickening. If I had gone to the bathroom before we ate, we would've left. Dead cockroaches on the floor. Pee and grime all over the toilet and urinals. Walls were stained with urine, grime, and dust. Floors were sticky and smelled. I will never go back to this location ever again.
