That's actually what happened to me. A professor of mine noticed that some symptoms I was exhibiting matched that of a fellow student who also struggled in the class. He suggested I seek a diagnosis as it could help provide me the necessary resources in college to overcome something I was up against. Growing up in the 90s, I, like many others my age, was told that we were just lazy, not trying hard enough, and that ADD/ADHD wasn't real and eventually I believed it. Now, a teacher of about the same age (I'm back in school thanks to the panny), is suggesting I seek treatment. So I started looking. I looked for months. Nobody had availability. I actually was about to give up when my partner came found Modern Integrative Psychiatry on Yelp. Normally they're crazy booked out, but thanks to whatever circumstance, I was able to secure an appointment with PMHNP Ashley Winn. I've been seeing her for around 6 or 7 months now and honestly it was the best decision I ever made. She makes seeking treatment painless and effortless. We meet remotely so even though I no longer live in the best city in the universe, I'm able to see her from campus, my car, or wherever I have access to the internet. It's been a great experience and I can't recommend this office or Ms. Winn enough. For those, like me, who may have suffered for too long without seeking treatment due to the stigma: give it a shot. I arrived on time and was never greeted by the practitioner that I had been corresponding with. Never met them. - I was visibly upset, so I was paired with the first and currently available practitioner. Surprise uninformed pairing for both of us. - Apology sent from practitioner that never met me. - Provided my FSA benefit card and personal card for payments to my file. Was charged erroneously on personal card when instructed to charge my FSA. - Charged $115 per session, then $95, then $40 until my copay was met. My copay does not apply to mental health. - Erroneously charged $135 for $40 session. Refunded and account audit performed. - Practice realized account over charge errors and offers to write me a refund check that I am instructed to come by and pick up. - Choosing to continue to see current Practitioner because my experience with them does not reflect my experience with the administration of this practice. TL;DR: - Scheduling errors, over payment, and uninformed billing. - One-on-one care: By chance really, really positive and transformative care raising this experience to one whole star because this practitioner is a star to me. I was Dr Kozikowska patient for 16 years since 2008, in 2024 two weeks after my youngest brother…read morepassed away I went thru serious accident I fall down the stairs,lost consciousness, have a cuncosion and broken jaw I fall from 15 concrete stairs,in 2023 I was of the medication for 11 months , was taking natural remedies with Dr approval,buy always Cary with me rescue medication if anxiety comes in, after the accident I started to going back to medications in which I started to experiencing severe side effects like never before, I informed Dr kozikowska that im after cuncosion and something doesn't work wright,long story short,I asked the Dr if she ever had a patient after head injury and cuncosion,the answer was no,I have to say that Dr trying to help, respond to my phone calls for some period of time, but later I was started to hear that im calling to often,and that the phone calls needs to be limited,I was suffering so much from medications side effects and later withdrawal,I was hospitalized 5 times where they changed the medication for me,I was severely harm by that, and the day comes when Dr kozikowska said to me that I need to look for second opinion,I did what she have said,but later drop me as a patient,I think Dr should do some research how to treat medically a patient after head injury and cuncosion I was to much for the Dr leaving me with clonazepam which I was taking for many months was prescribed by the Dr, Dr kozikowska it is great Dr but for easy cases,and patients who don't need special care and attention, so after 16 years of being this Dr patient I was dropped off,without any feelings of humanity,i was crying because of this,Dr Kozikowska will not helping to come off of clonazepam cose her taper is to fast and can be harmful,the second Dr that I have seen harm me so much and gaslight me terribly,this kind of medical practice can put a patient to the severe mental crisis,I was having hope in Dr Kozikowska since she helped me for many years, but not after accident,I was treated cold on the end and that was the worst feeling after being patient for so many years... very sad.

I've been going through crisis after crisis for a ridiculously long time - since way before the pandemic - and after about three years of chaos, mistakes, addiction, heartache, etc, I cracked and ended up in the psych ward of a hospital. It took something terrible to shine a light on how severely depressed and "stuck" I've been for a long time. I'm between CBT therapists. So when I found out Kate does these types of sessions- something less conventional, I felt like it was meant to be and enthusiastically booked with her. I sent her an embarrassingly long message explaining all of the current problems in my life - because I wasn't sure which one to focus on first... which negative thoughts, feelings, ideas need to be cleared before moving on to the next thing. She pin-pointed exactly what I thought she would, and I suppose what my intuition was telling me- that a ton of my issues, bad recent experiences and painful emotions come from an overall lack of self-love. So we worked on that. I've done EMDR sessions before, and a ton of acupuncture over the years- both have consistently led to cathartic emotional releases. I wasn't surprised that this had the same effect- I was crying within just a minute or so of us diving in to the tapping part. And as self-aware as I usually am, Kate pointed out some things during the session that I hadn't been tuned into about myself/my feelings. And I definitely felt a shift in my energy at the end of the session. Kate is a really smart person, kind, and perceptive. Would highly recommend to anyone, and am looking forward to doing another session. Also - if you're not in Brooklyn, don't let that stop you from booking.
