I have been going to Yana's for years and recently had Ellen@Yanas cut my hair. She is excellent. Highest marks

It's wild to see a 5 out of 5 stars on Yelp. But if any place should have it - it's Yanas. This place is really something special and you'll feel it as soon as you walk in. Comfy seats, free adult beverages while you sit, and hands down - And I mean it - the best haircut I've ever had. I don't want to tell you who gives the best haircut because she's always so busy and it's hard to get an appointment - but she deserves all the praise. So if you got get Masha. They're all fantastic but Masha can do a fade and a straight razor shave like she grew up in downtown Chicago. She makes me so damn handsome. Also, her sister Natasha works here too and she does an incredible pedicure. It's the perfect balance between luxury and price. I won't go anywhere else in the Northshore again. read more

Yana is beyond amazing and professional. Thank you for squeezing us in and for being awesome!

Masha is fantastic. She is a perfectionist and will be returning. Haircut and all the attention to details was perfect.

Oksana was terrific. Gave me a great haircut! Reasonably priced, high quality. Nice, large salon. Highly recommend.

Well done! We went to Maria. She gave my 5yr old a cool fresh cut. So, we were happy with his makeover! They have a warm space with lots of comfortable seating while you wait. read more

Told her several times to leave it long and she cut it too short. I do not plan to go back.

This review is based on two visits... Yana is a boy whisperer and husband hair saver. I'm so glad my hubby ran across this place on Yelp. After he told me about it, I kept running across one great review after another. After looking at his crazy professor hair, I forced him to book an appointment. I just couldn't bear to look at it anymore. It was so long! He had the same stylist for years, but she retired right before the pandemic, so it was stressful finding someone. Going to Yana was the best decision ever. Even his former stylist (a dear friend of ours) agreed Yana gave him a killer good cut. My hubby left home disheveled and came home a cleaned up and new man. His tiny bald spot was nicely covered up with some pro layering. His hair still looks so good! All for $30! Now, on to my 14 year old twin boys. They hate everything (and most adults) right now. I mean they're teenagers! They were both complaining about their hair, since they were trying to grow it out. They were starting to look like drowned rats. It was time to see Yana. I told them they had to know exactly what they wanted done with their hair before they paid her a visit. No walking in unprepared. They spent a few days deciding how they wanted to look. I have one kid that's impossible to please, so I was really worried. He's super OCD and edgy and doesn't trust anyone. Let me tell you, Yana had no fear when it came to my boys, because she also has an older boy and "gets" it. She pulled my difficult son aside (he was so stressed) and she worked her magic and listened to everything he wanted...step by step...and he was so happy. Both my boys left pleased as pie! I mean no complaining whatsoever! OMG, Yana is a teen boy whisperer. The salon is very safe. There are only three cutting stations (pretty sure) and a lounge area. Each chair has an ultraviolet light above it. In between clients, Yana cleaned the area, including the scissors and all her equipment. Then she spent time cleaning up in the back before cutting everyone. There was only one other client each time we were in there. We booked everything online and we paid via our Chase Quick Pay. Bless you Yana! You are bad$ss. read more

Old school barbershop with good customer service. A lot of people have been regulars for many, many years. Open 8:30am-8pm, with street parking and by the Metra rail...it's convenient for people on the go. The barber is a real nice fellow; always with a smile or joke while sprucing up people's mops or giving a shave. read more

Tanya has become my new favorite barber. Her cuts and styling are perfect, and there is no lack of attention to detail. For anyone particularly concerned about Covid, they follow all of the appropriate protocols, and the shop is maintained at a very clean and sanitized level. Tanya's fades including a straight edge for the hard part are spot on. Definitely recommend! Thanks Yana and Tanya! read more

The best and salon where I can entrust my hair into the hands of a professional. Yana and her team is the best hairdressers I've ever met. Due to the previous unsuccessful hair coloring, my hair was in very terrible condition (Yellow blonde and all the hair broke from the top of my head because the previous hairdresser had overexposed the dye on my hair ). Yana was able not only to restore my hair, but also I achieved the hair color that I wanted. From now on, I only go to Yana and trust her with my hair, no one else. She will always advise what is best for my hair and will do everything to make me look good. I definitely recommend it, you will not regret it. read more

After forgetting to book an appointment at my regular place, I needed a quick solution. Stas cut my hair, and it was a fantastic experience. Highly recommend. I think I have a new regular place! read more

I booked a day ahead while visiting from NYC and Stas rocked out a fabulous high fade combover. He's definitely my new goto for trips to Chicago. Yana is a gracious business-owner who made me feel comfortable as a new client. read more

She's really good. Nice new shop. Appts easy to make online. Got a manicure too. I'll be back.

I highly recommend Yana's Barbershop of Ravinia. Yana opened her own new shop on May 29, 2020 after Illinois allowed barbershops to reopen. She has installed all kinds of safety and hygiene devices and measures to insure that her clients will be protected from COVID-19 during the pandemic. The atmosphere there is unlike any barbershop I have been in before.  Very comfortable surroundings. High class ambience. The barbers there (Yana & Tanya) are very friendly and highly skilled. They do a wonderful job of making your hair look great. They have an online booking service, which not only saves time, but also sends you reminder notices.  Manicures & pedicures are also available in private areas. Their prices are reasonable and there is plenty of free parking available.  I have been going to Yana for several years and she is the best experienced barber I have had.  You will definitely come away happy.                Paul Cherner read more

This place has saved my marriage! My husband (a do-it-yourself-er) used to cut his own hair! It actually upset me to look at him! (I'm a Leo so I'm into how your hair looks--andbald is cute too--it's the bad haircut that causes me pain.)Then he found Yana and, when he comes home after his haircut with her, he looks awesome and always says "I didn't tell her anything," meaning she gives him a fabulous cut that makes us BOTH happy! Thank you, Yana, I'm getting my next cut with you because you are obviously a talented hair artist! Update, 6/12/18: I gave my husband a note when he left that said "Do Not Say Cut It Short" and he came home with perfect, stylin' hair. Thank you, Yana!!! read more

Yana is wonderful! I take 7 year old there and she is so patient and attentive to the smallest of her customers. Really great cuts for really reasonable prices! read more

Good men's haircuts. Fast and reasonably priced. Makes it easy to go back for touch-ups more often.

Been coming here for almost 10 years. Everyone is your friend inside. I haven't had a bad experience or a bad haircut. But for every haircut, be sure to know what you want and don't be afraid to ask or bring a photo. If you are unsure you will more likely be disappointed. This will always be my go to barber shop. read more

I was a regular when Vince was owner but I returned today to sample the new owners. Yana was superb cutting my fine hair, which is a challenge. I'll definitely be back. read more

Best barbershop in Highland Park - very friendly place. Great value and fantastic haircuts.

I was sad to hear that Vince decided to retire after 38 years but I guess he's earned it. He left the barber shop in very good hands. I've gone to Yana now twice and I will keep coming back. They both are great and care about their work. read more
