I recently purchased the Sara bag from Pelleteria Artigiana Viviani and wanted to share a detailed…read morereview based on my experience from ordering through receiving the product.
Before placing my order, I contacted the company with questions about possible customization. They were very responsive and helpful, though the specific changes I wanted were not possible. They did offer alternative options and were easy to communicate with. After placing my order, I also inquired about adding a key leash, but by that point the internal construction of the bag had already been finalized, so it could not be added. This was entirely my oversight for not requesting it sooner. Throughout all communication, responses were consistently fast--always within 24 hours--and polite.
I placed my order on April 22, 2026. The website stated a 40-day production timeline. As that timeframe approached, I reached out for an updated estimate and was initially given a delivery date of June 1. When no shipping update had been received by June 3, I followed up again and was informed there would be a delay, with an updated estimated delivery window of June 16-June 20. The bag ultimately shipped on June 16, I received tracking on June 17, and it arrived on June 18. While communication remained polite and responsive, the timeline did shift multiple times and ended up being longer than originally stated. Since then, the company has updated its website to reflect longer lead times due to increased demand and the small size of their workshop.
Shipping was €50 at the time of purchase (now listed as €60), and there were no additional customs fees. The bag arrived very well packaged in a sturdy box, with a dust bag included and the bag itself properly stuffed and wrapped, which made the presentation feel thoughtful and premium.
As for the bag itself, the quality is excellent. The leather has a rich natural smell, feels soft yet structured, and the craftsmanship is very well executed. One detail I especially appreciate is that the body of the bag has no edge glazing, with glazing only on the detachable strap. Despite being the smallest size in this style, it holds more than expected due to its wide opening and fits my daily essentials comfortably. The only functional drawback is the interior phone pocket, which is quite stiff and does not comfortably fit my iPhone 13, though it works for flatter items.
In terms of design, I have only minor personal preferences, such as the angle of the top handle hardware when using the crossbody strap, but nothing that affects overall usability.
Overall, while the production timeline was longer than initially stated, the quality of the bag itself is excellent and exceeds what I expected at this price point. I would still consider purchasing from them again in the future, particularly the larger sizes of this style, but would go in with more realistic expectations regarding lead times.
