Food and services are amazing. Very cozy vibe. I come here every morning for breakfast, by myself and never feel awkward or left out. Those relaxing mornings are the highlights of my Montreal trip.

We ate here two nights in a row. We stayed at the Vogue Hotel which made it super convenient. It also helped us avoid the cold outside. The first night we ate at the restaurant. The second night we ate at the bar. To stet off the staff is excellent. Our first night our waitress suggested the tasting menu which my wife and I ultimately selected. The presentation and food were awesome. Each course was explained to us by our waitress. The presentation of the food was top notch. The portions were perfect. Completing the meal was a perfect chocolate and per desert paired with a great cup of coffee.

We stayed at the hotel and it was one of the best experience and to top that the food in the hotel, Yama Resto was phenomenal. We had breakfast and dinner and it was magic for our tastebuds. Highly recommend staying at the hotel and eating at the restaurant for all meals!

Such a wonderful unexpected surprise- We were staying at The Hotel Vogue and thrilled to learn they had a Japanese restaurant. We went for dinner our first night and after chatting with our waitress we decided to each have the tasting menu for the evening. She assured us it was the freshest seafood we would ever have. Each dish came out with an elegant presentation- One of my favorites that night was the Tuna Taco- Each course was spaced out perfectly allowing us to enjoy drinks from the bar- We enjoyed several Naked and Famous and Bubbles - I really enjoyed the Sake and pear in the Bubbles - nice tartness and a slow sipper which went perfectly with the tasting menu! Our food was so good the next evening we sat at the bar - Had drinks and ordered some sushi rolls and truffle fries - The space was quiet which allowed for nice conversation. The resturant was not overly busy and the staff are attentive but give plenty of space. Overall one of the highlights to our Montreal trip

Visited Chef Antonio Park's Restaurant, Yama during December for a birthday party. The restaurant is located inside the luxury Vogue Hotel in downtown. They also serve brunch and lunch, with a full cocktail bar. My first impressions walking in the venue, was the beautifully crafted decor. Each section was elegant and thoughtfully designed. The lounge area has a large seating area by the window and fireplace. There was a huge Christmas tree which was great for taking photos. Tongue came through with accommodating our huge group of 30 guests. He made sure we had everything and we were taken care of. Great host! Before dinner, a friend tried a cocktail from the textured menu, served in a clay pot. I sampled the espresso martini which was perfectly balanced and strong. We enjoyed the fixed menu which includes appetizers, main and dessert. Presentation and taste were 5 on 5 for each item on the menu. The risotto was the best dish of the evening. During the long wait, we were provided french fries which satisfied the hunger until dinner service. I sampled everything from the fixed menu: chicken gyoza, bluefin tataki, black cod, beef tenderloin, mushroom risotto, and lastly the caramel hazelnut chocolate pastry dessert. The sommelier was helpful and knowledgeable and brought an effervescence wine which was not listed. We ended up purchasing two bottles as it was light, bubbly and affordable. I kept the wine corks to add to my collection. During dinner, we saw Chef Antonio Park making the rounds and greeting tables. He was so kind and all smiles to take a photo. It was my first time meeting him, I thanked him for taking the time and commented on the amazing food. My experience at Yama met my high expectations, I would recommend the venue for date night and celebrating a special occasion. Enjoy!

Good food, good vibes and quick service! Id say the sushi taco is quite small so definitely order more than one. The drinks are good here too. It's located inside a hotel and also expect higher prices because of that.

What a splendid find! Right across from shopping this place is wonderful. Very very limited menu but everything is done right.

we feel like we had a once in a lifetime experience. We had the Omakase tasting menu and we're not sure we'll ever taste anything quite like this again. Mainly because there isn't a set list of items for this option (omakase means "leave to me" in Japanese.) and we love the feeling of a basically personalized meal. One dish was so rare the staff took pictures of it . Expertly prepared and decorated (check out that gold leaf) every dish looks and tastes like a work of art. You don't go here to just eat for sustenance, you go to gift yourself an incredible gastronomic experience. Very quick, dedicated and knowledgeable service. The whole staff seems to know every detail about the food they serve. They seem very well trained overall which adds even more to the elevated feel you won't find just anywhere.

I would give this place a 3.5/5 stars. Our waiter was really nice and gave us some great recommendations as we're visiting from out of town. The restaurant was pretty but not the most comfortable dining experience. We came here to use the food credit at our hotel but I would frankly only recommend the passionfruit cocktail. The kimchi and cheese fusion dish was an interesting fusion choice. The sushi and soup weren't bad but I would only come here for convenience and cocktails not the food.

Incredible meal from Chef Antonio Park. The ambiance is 10/10 (we sat at the bar). The decor is beautiful with modern design and such a great vibe. Every dish we had was literally Michelin star worthy. My favourites were the Yama Maki, the Cod and the Octopus. All were cooked to perfection and had a unique mix of flavours and ingredients. Drinks were also very good. I look forward to returning and trying the tacos (they looked incredible!)

We dined here for lunch upon arrival to the vogue hotel and lunch was amazing. The mushroom burger was delicious and the little fish taco, fresh. Because we walked for hours and had no will no travel any further than into the elevator, we decided to try for dinner as well. The entrées were equally amazing. The burrata was delicate and fresh while the tuna was top tier as was the wagu. Unfortunately main course wasn't as impressive but still yummy! The cocktails that get crafted behind the bar are ones to come in and enjoy. The "wood" cocktail was exceptional. This restaurant is not only beautiful, but it serves delicious food as well!

We walked past this restaurant a few times and decided to give it a try. We didn't have reservations but they still accommodated us on a busy Saturday night which was excellent. We sat at the chefs table and it was a great experience watching the chefs prepare the sushi & sashimi plates all night. The drinks we ordered came very quickly but the wait between the appetizers and the main plate was really long, it was close to 1 hour if not slightly more. Fair warning, the prices are a bit steep for what you get. We started off with the Yama Maki and the Toro sashimi which were both good. The maki roll came with a dark sauce in the middle of the sushi plate that was sticky and sweet. Upon request we did receive wasabi so don't be afraid to ask for some as it doesn't come automatically with it. We had a bit of a misunderstanding about the duck plate as I thought it was going to be duck confit and not duck breast, it was paired with duck heart and duck foie gras. The duck breast came out on the rare side and would have liked to be asked if I wanted it cooked a little more when they first took my order (even though I know duck breast is supposed to be cooked on the rare side, this is why I was so excited to get duck thigh). Regardless, it was still ok. Although the plate came with a few slices of pickles, the plate felt like a bit of duck overload without any vegetables or potato sides to make it more balanced. The lamb plate was good, the meat was tender. They delivered our the plates to our table and poured Demi glaze right in front of us. I found the sauce was a perfect pairing with the lamb. I enjoyed this plate and would recommend it. The food was at a good temperature and they were plated nicely.

I really enjoy this restaurant located in the hotel I was staying at. One of the best hotel bars I've ever had the pleasure of dining at. The sashimi plate was simply perfect and melted in my mouth it was beautiful. The cocktail was very nice and exactly what I was looking for. Light and fresh all around. 10/10 will come back

But before even checking in, we had to walk through Bar George ~ and instantly knew we wanted to eat there. We were lucky enough to grab a last-minute reservation, and Julien took a good care of us throughout the evening. His recommendation of the Beef Wellington was spot on (it's already one of our favorite dishes), but this was hands down the best we've ever had. I ordered the lobster risotto, which was excellent with just the right amount of spice. My son had the 10 oz striploin steak with homemade fries (chips), and it was absolutely delicious. I also loved the Canadian touch of coarse salt on the steak, plus the option to choose between Béarnaise or peppercorn sauce. Julien also mentioned their pastry chef placed second in a NY competition, and the desserts absolutely lived up to that reputation. We tried the pineapple and coconut pavlova and the "lick me hazelnut" ~ both beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. We also ordered iced coffee and a latte, and noticed something interesting: this was the second place where we found Canadian coffee to be smooth and mild ~ such a nice change from the often bitter, over-roasted American coffee. Yes, dinner was a bit steep ($300+), but it was worth every penny. Between the rich history, stunning design, outstanding service, and unique cuisine, I would highly recommend Bar George. The server seated us without warning, and when we went to order, each item we requested had run out. No Cuban, no chicken melt, no several other delicious sounding things. She gave us 10 more minutes to look over the menu and come up with a plan B. Truthfully I wanted to jump ship, but couldn't because our drink orders were already in, and I was captain of this gastronomic journey. We'd set sail without proper forecasting! We settled on the baked egg and salmon bowl, neither what we were exactly craving. The baked egg was fairly tasty, a shakshouka-esque experience accompanied by rustic bread for hasty dipping. The salmon bowl was excellent, with delicious dressing, but the salmon portion was oh-so-meager. It made me wonder if the lunch rush had given the kitchen such a beating that they had split my salmon filet in half and served it to me and my neighboring table friend. Check out my photo and tell me if that portion seems right? The lore says Michael Jordan worked his rear off every game because he always told himself there was probably at least one kid in the stands who came there to see THE Michael Jordan. Well this kid in the stands caught Olive et Gourmando taking the night off. There is a risk for peril if you choose this restaurant, especially if you are in Montréal for a limited time!

I would assume many were customers first and then realized that this would be a chill place to eat. With my progeny, I almost made the mistake of eating in the Old Port. I mean, maybe chocolate crepes for dinner would have been more consumed than the healthier cheese and chicken alternatives at Chez Jose, but the relaxing vibe, and wholesomeness of it all, made me so relieved that I didn't settle for a tourist trap. I went a long time ago, back in 2021, and I was so happy to have gone again since they relocated to Old Montreal. The exterior is this new building, but inside, it feels like you're in an old building with rustic textures and colours. The ambiance is so lovely and it truly is the best place for delicious brunch items and taking cute pictures too! My friends and I visited on a Saturday morning without reservations, but we went relatively earlier. We were seated right away for a table of 4 and were served teas and coffee. I ordered the Bone Marrow & Duck Confit which consisted of a country-style bread, duck poached egg, bone marrow, confict duck leg, manchego shavings, herb salted crumble and green peas. It's a massive dish and honestly everything tasted amazing all together. The bone marrow was perfectly cooked and the duck poached egg meld everything together. They also give you another bowl so you can put the marrow once you're done eating it. The bread was needed to soak up every part of this delicious dish. Other items ordered was the Foie Gras (Chef's specialty) which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, caramelized onion compote and crispy proscuitto chips. The chips were a wonderful item to pair with the seared foie gras. The foie gras was perfectly cooked. The Rustic is another fan favourite which had brioche bread, duck poached egg, sautéed mushrooms. pulled pork, potatoes and argula sprouts. it is such a beautiful dish - nice colours, many ingredients and placed well on the plate; not to mention it was so good too! The last item was the Croque Monsieur which has country-style bread, maple-glaed Gaspor acon, confit tomatoes, cheddar, duck sunny side-up egg on an endive salad. You can't pick it up and munch on it, so you know how big this must have been! Even cut into pieces, it requires some maneuvering to munch on it. Great place for brunch. Awesome service too. I would highly recommend this spot if you're looking for a brunch spot!
