Yup, while in Prague, the first type of cuisine I ate was Asian. You know you're from Vancouver when... I ordered a "Thai" curry, and while it was nothing special, it wasn't terrible, and it filled me up. Since I was pretty tired and hungry, I didn't spend too much time looking over the menu. But the website shows that in addition to Thai food, they offer sushi and dim sum, amongst other things. And not only do they offer dim sum, but they offer non-pork dim sum, which is a plus in my books. They also have free wi-fi (password needed).

We ordered Phad Thai Kung - super flavorful, tasty huge prawns and good portion. 5 stars Beef Stew Yellow Curry with Jasmine rice - superb curry with soft potatoes. Best meal in Prague!

Their lunch offerings are super cheap, include a decent Thai broth and have never disappointed me. Their Pad Thai is one of the best in the city and their currys are also pretty authentic, I'd say. After a long day of walking around the city, I'm so happy we came across this spot to fill us up. Service was great and if I do come back to Prague, would love to try this spot again!

This is why I sometimes end up here - when being in rush and in the mood for Thai for reasonable price. The restaurant is in the cellar and the decor of the restaurant does not go at all with the Thai meals and sushi that they serve here. The food quality is rather poor and the staff is forgetful, not very professional and definitely far from friendly. I guess the restaurant is aimed at tourists who accidentally find themselves in front of the place when walking from the Charles Bridge. The prices are cheap for the area but still, taking into account the for quality and ambiance, it is not a place I would recommend.

We came in fairly late on a Saturday night, about an hour prior to closing, and the restaurant was still pretty packed. We took that as a good sign. Once we were seated and got a chance to peruse their menu, we decided to share an order of their tofu summer rolls. I got an order of their tofu phad gra pao kai dao, while my friend got a noodle dish. I did ask for my dish to be spicy, but I guess the spice levels have been adjusted to suit more local palates as it wasn't exactly spicy. Other than that, the food was pretty good and fresh. Not a bad place to get some decent Thai food if you happen to be in this part of Prague.

We were anticipating a decent meal based on its popularity and Vietnamese staff serving the food. I had the beef noodle soup in Hue style (Bún bò Hue) which seemed to be one of the go-to dishes. Why not 4/5-stars like everyone else? Perhaps I've been spoiled with pho and similar noodle soups elsewhere but the taste was sub-par. The soup was relatively bland despite the intense appearance, and seemed to be missing the umami beefy flavor or much herb garnishing. A bit disappointed that it came with mostly lettuce but it was at least mildly spicy and sour. The saving grace was that soup was hot and the noodle portion was satisfying. I must say, locals seem quite generous with their restaurant reviews. Maybe I'm missing something, since they could just be limited by the availability of some asian ingredients despite their extensive menu.

That being said, the dishes themselves were good, but not great. The papaya salad was nice and spicy but definitely not as crisp and sour as I like it, and had too much sauce, making the lower part a bit soggy.
