Tried several Vietnamese restaurants in Praha and this was the best. Staff is friendly and helpful. The Pho is traditional North Vietnamese and the best I had in Praha. Spring rolls are very tasty. Will come back when in Praha.

Green Rice Fried Tiger Prawns. Just the cutest tiger prawns something so standard, yet presented in such an interesting way with so many details. I love a restaurant that puts love into their food! One of my new favorite restaurants in Prague! I can't wait to come back and try everything! @madamelynrestaurant * * Tip: Order a few extra because they are beyond delicious and you will be asking for more.

This is the best place to go on a snowy winter night in Prague. The ambience is classy and the staff is very friendly and speak English :). We summer rolls ( spring rolls in the US ), which were served with a warm clear sauce as opposed to the peanut sauce that is generally served with spring rolls in the US. We are a lil skeptical when it was served , but it turned out to be amazing. The warm and spicy sauce works beautifully with the light and fresh spring rolls. The sauce has character, but at the same time did not over power the shrimp in the spring rolls. Next we ordered Bun-ho-hue and red-curry with chicken. Both the dishes were very flavorful, we thoroughly enjoyed them. I have a feeling I will be back to eat at this place before I leave Prague :)

The place is very nice and clean with a much cleaner and classier look than most Vietnamese restaurants in the bay area. First thing to notice is the menu is in English. Not sure if they have a Czech. What's interesting is that the menu is entirely in English with nothing written in Vietnamese. All Vietnamese restaurants in California have the items in Vietnamese with English translations. What's also interesting is some items are offered everyday. Other items are only offered on certain days of the week. You might need to call in to see if your favorite item is served on a particular day. I had the Pho Combination which is interestingly a mix of both chicken and beef. The selection of beef is limited though. A few differences in serving style and utensils. Here, there were no big pho spoons. Also, no condiments such as Hoisin Sauce and no side vegetables to go with the Pho, such bean sprouts (though I did see a small amount already in the Pho), ngò gai (Eryngium foetidum), Asian basil. They do have really good pepper though. The broth is not as strong and flavorful as those in California, though was still tasty. The noodle itself tasted fresh and soft, probably comparable or better than Pho Kim Long's banh pho tuoi. Second item I had was the bun. The noodle wasn't so sticky, which I think would have made this taste better. It's similar to broken rice, when the meal calls for sticky rice. The meat was pretty good, as with the egg rolls, though the egg rolls could have been a bit more crunchy. Again, the flavors are not as strong as those found in Vietnamese food from California little Saigon restaurants. The menu was missing some of of my favorite drinks, such as soda xi muoi and soda chanh muoi. They do make up for it with a nice selection of wines and spirits. Great customer service as well, but I bit slow paced. Overall it was a good experience and good food, though can't compare to California.

This place is a total sleeper. If you go here expecting to be met with what most people know to be…read morepho, you are going to have to expand your expectant palate a bit. In my eating experience, southern Vietnamese style pho is much more prevalent to western markets and, at least from the US perspective, is what most people are familiar with when they think of pho. I have read that in the north of Vietnam (such as in Hanoi), the style of pho is different. Not necessarily better or worse, just different. This place definitely uses a northern style recipe and I was not prepared for it to be as good as it was. It blew me away in several ways. First, the broth seems to have a lighter style to it than pho from the Ho Chi Minh City area in the south. Not in taste but in mouthfeel. Given that, it also doesn't leave you with that greasy tongue sensation either which was a plus. All of the beefy taste was there and there was even a hit of ginger coming through after the star anise which really made it interesting. I've actually never tasted broth like it (I have never had northern style pho before) and in some ways, I almost prefer this. Second, the herbs are chopped up and already added as a finish during assembly. They do not bring you a large plate of leaves, sprouts, etc. However, what they did bring more than made up for my initial disappointment. A small condiment dish of chopped hot chilis, a lemon wedge, and best of all, a container of sliced raw garlic swimming in vinegar. That condiment alone was an amazing hit to an already great bowl of noodles. I actually could not stop eating it and must have ingested at least half the container on my own. I feel kind of bad because I alone probably ate about 30 minutes worth of garlic slicing and now nobody wants to stand next to me in the elevator but that's ok, it makes me feel like a rock star that I get my own personal elevator car even if it is only because of a toxic cloud of garlic off-gassing out of my pores. Third, the service was great. This seems to be a little family run joint. A nice woman was manning the front of the house and her son was at one of the tables entertaining himself. I am sure that there is a hard working family member running the kitchen too and they managed to serve a fairly full dining room with courtesy, speed, and accuracy. I am sure that running this kind of small family business is never-ending, back-breaking work so to do it with a good attitude really shows the effort being put in on their part. There is nothing to dislike about that. Finally, it was affordable. Very affordable. I had 2 shrimp fresh summer rolls, a bowl of sliced rare beef pho, and a mug of beef all for 239 Czech Crowns ($10.18 USD). I also got to use the secure wifi they have available during my meal (ask and they will put the PW in for you). All of that is a bona fide steal in my opinion. For an ethnic eatery in the middle of Prague, this one really bangs out the good stuff.

Prices were reasonable at 129Kr for the banh mi. We ordered the original special banh mi, which came out quickly and was served on a fresh baguette with mild Sriracha sauce, carrots, cilantro, mayo, but no jalapeños. It is also came with a side of fries, which were outstanding! So a quick Yelp search showed us that Mr. Banh Mi was a 5-minute walk from our hotel. We were a little iffy about how good Vietnamese food would taste in Prague, but we decided to give it a try anyway. We got there at around 9 and there was one table dining there. It's more like a hole in the wall than an actual restaurant. Most people were getting takeout or delivery. I got the Original (stewed pork Xa Xiu, homemade pate, pickled carrot and daikon, fresh cucumber, homemade mayonnaise, coriander). It was actually pretty good, and definitely better than what I was expecting. The pork was a little too salty but overall, it was exactly what I was looking for at the time. It's definitely not as good as the banh mis back at home in NYC but it was a good option for a quick meal.

We ordered veggie wraps, fried chicken, pho with chicken, chicken soup, and Pad Thai. The fried chicken had a strange texture, like it wasn't breaded properly. The pho had a weird flavor and was drenched excessively in purple onions. The chicken also had an unusual yellow color, which we later learned was because the chef seasons it with turmeric--something that looked quite bizarre. The chicken noodle soup contained egg, even though the menu didn't mention it. Honestly, it looked more like egg drop soup mixed with chicken. The Pad Thai was okay, nothing particularly special. The restaurant is very clean and has plenty of seating, making it a good spot to hang out with friends. The waitress was nice and attentive. Since we had several dietary restrictions due to allergies, she frequently checked with the kitchen to ensure our safety. Unfortunately, despite the good service, the food just didn't deliver.
