I really love this place. Their BBQ is so delicious and at the same time their crews are easy to approach :) I will go back to this place!

Conching's Native Chicken

Best Native Chicken! [CEBU CITY Philippines]…read more When it comes to food, Cebu has a lot to offer. From savory lechon (roast pork) to sweet desserts Cebu is a foodie's paradise. But we have been eating some form of lechon since we arrived on New Year's Day so I was getting tired of it LoL! just a little. I ordered grilled chicken instead. Conching's is famous for one thing: their charcoal-grilled native chicken. What is a native chicken? They are more commonly raised in rural areas, cage-free. They are smaller in size than the regular chicken, it's because of their organic diet. Both its size and diet make these native chicken unique and more natural in taste. We ordered two servings and it didn't disappoint. So delicious, salted just right and the skin is crunchy. Setting looks rundown, nothing fancy with long tables and plastic chairs and a grill out front. Very laid back. Live music entertained the diners... young adults with music instruments. I was amused. Filipinos love to sing. LoL!Friendly service. I just didn't like the flies... we had to keep swatting them so they don't go on our food. Review #3349

Visiting Cebu City - my girlfriend raved about the Native Chicken and that we had to try it - so…read moreupon arriving in Cebu City my gf's cousin took us here... Not sure what authentic should feel like but this restaurant felt authentic considering I was the only foreigner there... One of the waiters is an interesting one - done up in a lot of make up and apparently very flirtatious and seems like he's a staple of the restaurant per their Facebook page... Anyway the native chicken cooked on these little grills but the chicken themselves are tiny - you probably need about one chicken a person. They have a lot of other grilled and friend foods including various fish - milkfish was the only one I recognized. We also tried the ceviche (local name I don't remember) but extremely good!! You should also try the puso which are the individually packaged rice which are local to cebu.... Very cool place and recommended if visiting,

AA BBQ grill is always my first stop in Cebu…read more It doesn't look like much: a sort of covered outdoor canteen with plastic chairs and a view of the parking lot. At the counter, you see fish, squid and prawns wrapped in cling wrap, and you're supposed to take a tray, open the transparent plastic partition that separates you from the seafood, and tong your fish directly onto it. There are colorful menus that allow you to choose typical Filipino dishes via their photos, and the first time I saw them I assumed that they had pulled the images off the internet. Once you order, and surrender your tray of raw seafood to the staff behind the counter, you pick your table and wait for only 5-10 minutes until the food starts streaming out of the kitchen (and no, those photos were not pulled off the internet). Squid grilled to perfection, kinilaw (seafood ceviche in vinegar), grilled vegetables mixed with glass noodles, fried fish and steamed fish and grilled prawns and more fresh vegetables! I am always amazed to see what emerges from that kitchen. To be enjoyed with a pitcher of the day's fresh juice (for example, watermelon-guava-apple), and raw baby chili in soy sauce (or not!).

We were m so looking forward to our dinner! Even my friends who lives here in CEBU, were quiet and disgusted. I was quietly thinking is the Owner proud of this food? Because it's nasty and disgusting. Will never go back. I eat there every time I come to CEBU and this will be the last time. And they need to remove the old location from yelp. It's been gone 4 years ! The one we ate at is the location near waterfront hotel. Horrible food. Never again
