I was told that Larsian was born sometime in the 1980s when Larry and Siana were selling their street foods to local residents. They were famous for their "inihaw" BBQ seafood, and soon thereafter, all the locals followed suit. They got so busy and famous that they eventually found this huge plaza, and turned it into many small business vendors to accommodate the crowd that comes here for lunch, dinner and late snacks daily. Hence, the "Larsian" BBQ name was formed with their names Larry "Lar" and Siana "Sian." I suggest to travel here with a huge group. It's a lot more fun. The way you order is you choose a vendor where you will buy your seafood and meat. They will hire the guys to grill them. Certain tables are owned by certain vendors and they will direct you to a table that is theirs. My favorite has to be their grilled stuff squid. It was so good and you can really tasted the charcoal grill. They get very busy after 6pm to midnight everyday, so make sure to arrive early to get the best fresh seafood daily. Cheers! read more

Great place for fresh Barbecue meats! There are many vendors in the area to choose from (it can seem overwhelming because each vendor wants you to buy from their stand). Each stand has its own seating area and once you choose your meats the cooks will immediately grill them and deliver them to your table. It is a kamayan style of eating (no utensils) and they provide plastic gloves. It's great for large groups and an overall fun experience! read more

When I visit any destination, whether it be in another country or in the Philippines, I want to eat where the locals will eat. I'm admittedly a neat freak and cleanliness is a big factor anywhere I go. BUT, if the food and experience is great, I won't even care if there was a cockroach seated next to me (seriously!). Larsian is a big barbecue center located in Fuente Osmeña Circle in Cebu. As soon as you enter the center, you will be greeted by throngs of stall owners inviting you to check out and choose from their wide array of "ihaw-ihaw" or grilled meat, poultry and seafood. Basically, it is THE one-stop barbecue place in Cebu! Since all their meat and seafood is on display, you are guaranteed that the food is fresh. There are long tables & chairs designated to each stall; In the middle, you see all the grilling stations. I suggest you pick a stall that is furthest away from the middle, unless you want to small like barbecue too. :P When you are seated, a stall attendant will give you native plates lined with plastic, plastic gloves (yes, you are expected to eat with your hands!) & a basket of "puso" (rice cooked inside cone-shaped coconut leaves, Php5/0.11USD per piece). My friends and I always end up ordering the same grilled items: chicken (Php50/1.07USD per stick), Cebu Chorizo (Php5/0.11USD per piece), Bangus or Milkfish (Php120/2.57USD, depends on the size) and other grilled meat here and there! Everything is very cheap! :) I recommend that you MUST order the chicken and the Cebu Chorizo. You will not regret eat those with your hands with 3-4 puso too. To me, dining at Larsian is more about the experience you will have while eating with your friends. There are other more mainstream restaurants that will serve better grilled dishes. A must eat for anyone traveling to the Cebu City area! Super affordable food for anyone on a budget but it's also one of the best bbq spots I've been to. There are many vendors to choose from! I've been told the taste is similar between all the vendors, so pick whichever spread appeals to you the most or whomever advertise their stand the best. They all have pork and chicken bbq, liempo, filipino chorizo, and all types of seafood! Rice is automatically placed on your table and you pay per puso rice. for tourist, I wouldn't recommend this place for your first time tasting Ph made bbq. Most first tome tourist gets scammed here paying up to 3k of only 500 worth of bbq. but I'm not generalizing tho. some of the bbq stand here are honest and serves fresh bbq. read more

Always a favorite when I visit Cebu, I've only failed to eat here on one of my visits. The server's may get annoying as they try to lure you to their stall and block your way, hence, I always choose the stall at the end where there are less people. Over the years, it has also changed dramatically from stalls having individual areas for grilling to one that has a centralised area for grilling, making it less likely for you to leave the area smelling like smoke. The wash area has also been slightly improved though I'd rather bring my wet wipes and alcohol. Be sure to choose the stall you want as though they generally offer the same selection, they have some slight nuances such as perhaps one would have shrimp and prawns, the other would have pork belly and another may not offer seafood at all. Also do note the marinades are heavy on salt so do hydrate as well. read more

Great for first time visitors but once you've eaten here, you wouldn't want to go back! Larsian serves grilled food and barbeque - chicken, fish, pork, longganisa, hotdog, and anything that can be grilled. The price is perfect for those looking for budget-friendly eats but the place is definitely not the cleanest. We went there and saw a cockroach flying from one stall to the other and then crawling all over the food on display! It was a good thing we already finished eating or else We would have hurled all the food we've eaten. Amazing. If you like barbecue. Then come here please. You pick the meat or fish you want them to bbq for you. And then they bring it to you and eat. You can also have the fish either grilled or turned into soup. It is an experience i haven't had before and i am glad that my friend brought us here. At first the place looked skeptical because it definitely looked like a wet market. But from my experience, skeptical usually means great food. Place can be crowded and loud because of people barking at passerby's in an attempt to get them to eat at their stalls. There are also alot of flies because it is outdoors and the place is a bit dirty lookin. The great side about this place is that the food is cooked deliciously!!! It was amazing.. i kept eating and eating. I was definitely surprised on how good the food came out. If you are a picky eater or someone that may want to make sure what you are eating is 100% taken care of an sanitary. You might lose your mind in this place cuz i personally doubt that this place is clean, but it is probably safe to eat to some extent. Place gets crowded late at night. I'd come back here. Larsian is all about BBQ. This is coming from someone who's lived and vacationed there, trust me. Do not pass up going to this place when you're in Cebu or if you're planning to go there, this is something that needs to be part of your list. It's not a fancy tourist spot but if you want the full experience and really mix with the locals then you should definitely pay them a visit. Like I said, it's nothing fancy so your wallet shouldn't worry, it comes pretty cheap. I suggest you go here with friends and family because the experience is more fun when you're with a group. When we go to Larsian, it's usually out of the blue like we'd wonder where we're gonna eat and someone would suggest Larsian and magically we'd all agree. Cheap place for a barbecue. The place is like a mini market where you pick a store who sells all kinds of barbecue, choose from their menu selections and make them cook it. The one we got for example sells grilled fish for 180 ea h, isaw for 6 pesos and chorizos for 8 pesos each, etc. We picked what we wanted by hand and hand it to them to cook. Each store has their own tables where you can eat. Con is that they dont have a bathroom or a place to wash your hands. You can ask for them to provide you with a pail of water to do so or they themselves provide you with gloves so you can eat. Unless you order something with soup like clams tinola....they also dont provide you with cutlery. Its a real kamayan (eat by hand) place! read more

For the down-home Filipino barbecue style, try this place. It's huge inside, like the circus big-top, and you can choose from among many separate vendors there. A worthy experience, I recommend. The only reason I rated it 4 instead of 5 stars is that personally I don't believe any Filipino barbecue is worth 5 stars, but if you do like Filipino barbecue, a must-try. read more

Well for me, barbeque is a form of art and man, this place is a museum! With all of the different art pieces like pork skewers, chicken thighs. It overwhelms me at times. But eh with grilling comes certain perks like the smoke and hungry flies but it does go away after a couple of hand swifts! But overall this place sure does fill up that tummy!
