We had a selection of items; 3…read moremains (Gurkhali Butter Chicken, Gurkhali Shahi Paneer, Tandoori Monk Fish) side dishes to share (Paneer Shaslik, Baigan Bharta, Vegetable Peshwari, Tarka Dal, lemon rice and a vegetable platter), 3 naan breads (Bullet Naan, Cheese Naan, Garlic Naan). Our guest had not tried Indian/Nepalese food so we agreed a nice selection of dishes was the way to go. My main, the Gurkhali Paneer (Indian cheese) was lovely, very flavourful, had spice and warmth, good aroma and not overpowering at all. My favourite side dishes from this particular restaurant were the Paneer Shaslik (Tandoori roasted Paneer rubbed in the namesake spices and clay oven, Baigan Bharta:recommended dish comprised of roasted aubergine and a delicious creamy tomato based sauce). The naan breads were a bit different to the usual fluffy bread I am used to eating, they were okay overall, just a bit dry for my taste. Had the naan bread been fluffier and not as dry I would have felt 5 stars were on order. Should I stay again in Falmouth and fancy a curry I would happily order again or visit the restaurant. Many of the side dishes were a bit dry, though the entries were fairly tasty. The largest problem was the service. Despite being nearly empty everything from taking orders, delivering food, and providing check post clean up was incredibly slow. It was a multi-hour experience and I felt like it hardly needed to be. Overall, I'd eat here again, but I'd carve out enough time to do so.

I asked them to wrap up the leftover sauces, because they were all so flavorful. Next course were onion bahgi - a good sharable item (three large balls) - not greasy, just right. Followed by my favorite, Tiger Prawns in Vindaloo sauce with Pilau rice. Good spice, not too too crazy. Good amount of prawns. Took half of it home. Service was professional, attentive and the server didn't rush me out of the door. Lots of takeaway customers collecting food while I was there - which was nice to see. The restaurant was busy and fortunately had a table open despite not having booked ahead. We were lucky because the restaurant got full quickly and had a warm humming background murmur without being loud or disruptive. The naan was light and flavorful. The balti chicken was good enough to be my son's new favorite dish though could have been spicier. The vegetable rice was excellent. I got to try a new beer that I had never had before (Cobra). Locals at the table next to us said it was the best Indian in the area. We are definitely glad we stopped in!

We were quickly seated and served. The food is delicious and beautifully presented. Decent choice of wine too. All through the evening they were extremely busy and continually turning people away who hadn't reserved a table. If you want a decent Indian meals whilst in Penzance this comes highly recommended. As it is not far away from my house so we all friends would hang out there at night and enjoy. It is very spacious and not quite busy so good when you want to hang out. It has quite a good blend of indian dishes with variety of menu items which I like a lot. Not only that it is very near to pubs so after having dinner we would always go out.
