They also are very good about bringing talent to their shop; was recently in town and in a hurry to get a cut, so was assigned to a young professional Miss Chase Wirt. Very satisfied with the process start to finish! Yes, left with a nice-looking cut, but truly enjoyed the time chatting and interacting with her. First time here. Cute place, clean good location and parking. They need a receptionist. The staff having to leave their client to answer phones was visibly frustrating to the client and stylist. Amanda at YADA Salon did my hair cut/color & waxing a few months ago. My hair was fine but the waxing was not. She burned my eyelids & my upper lip. I called to let her know & instead of accepting responsibility & apologizing She became defensive. I went to a dermatologist & was given a salve. I left it at that. Now over the weekend I tried to contact her about an upcoming appointment. I needed to confirm the date. She didn't respond to my text or my phone call. Today she indicated that I needed to find a new hair dresser. Oh well, her loss. Out of 3 other people that I know, whose hair she's cut, never returned to her. Wonder why? I have been going to YADA for more than 10 years. Over the years, my experience continued getting worse and worse. I feel as though the hair dresses continue getting lazier and not caring as time goes on. My appointments started getting rushed, the quality was not as good, but I continued going because I have been going for so long and did not want to find a new place. However, yesterday was the last straw and I will no longer be going to YADA. I had a haircut with Kevin, and he was not friendly in the slightest. After paying almost $50 for just a trim, he had me in and out in under 20 minutes. No hair products were used, he just combed, blew dry, cut, and ironed my hair super fast. No care taken. When he went to wash my hair, he was super aggressive and grabbed my piercing and tore it. It was super painful but I let it go, still tipped him, and didn't realize it had been bleeding until I got home. It is still bleeding a day later. I have always gone to YADA because it was a place of relief for me, my time where I got to be taken care of. Nowadays they rush through every customer, don't care about making you feel comfortable, just want you in and out. Not worth it for the price you pay. More than anything, getting a hair TRIM shouldn't be painful and you should NEVER feel like the burden when YOU are the PAYING customer. So completely disappointed in this salon. read more

I was really excited to get my hair done at Yada. I have a cpl of coworkers who had gone and seen Genny and recommended her. - I made my appt about a week prior. I told the gal that I wanted color and a cut and she booked me for 6:30pm that next week. When I arrived, I found the salon to be nice, the people were ok and Genny was very friendly. Unfortunately, personality doesn't cut hair. Genny seemed exhausted and rushed. I should have just left when I realized that, but I figured that she was a professional and if she couldn't handle what I asked for, then she should have said so. My hair took 3 hours and by the time we got to the cut she rushed it and only spent about 10 mins cutting. Again, I understood she was tired, but she should have rescheduled me if she couldn't meet my needs. She messed up my cut. I showed her a few photos and was very vocal about what I wanted. She did not style or blow dry my hair (again, because of her being tired) - I agreed to go home and dry it myself. Disappointed as it were. I paid her $150. $150!!!!! Which is not a drop in the bucket for me. I treated myself to my hair and really expected it to be what i was paying for!!!! When I got home and dried my hair I cried. I couldn't believe that she did not do what I had been so clear about! - I texted her the next day & expressed my concerns to which she apologized, but was very defensive. I asked for a refund on the cut, the color was fine and I am willing to pay for that. She told me that a refund "would not be an option" asked if she could fix it and promised I would "love it". Sadly, I did let her try to fix it. She couldn't fix what she had cut because she took way more length off my hair than what I had asked for. Her hands were very shaky (to which she attributed to drinking red bull) but, I would have rather had my money back, or even an offer for a free cut next time or something!!!! In closing, I would not recommend Genny. She is friendly, but I feel like I got ripped off. read more

I hesitated in putting a review as my sister Betty Mills and her husband Kevin Mills on the salon and I didn't know how it would be received by some; But it doesn't matter if it's family doing your hair or someone else right? I have extremely fine hair and I've always struggled to find a way to wear it but Betty can come along and cut it and style it and make it look so very good. Moving to a new state and looking for a new hair stylist can be really difficult, especially when I've worked at an upscale salon for many years. I tried two other salons (giving each a 2-4 appointments each), neither were horrible, but not the above and beyond I was looking for. I made a desperate, last minute appointment, with Kimela (I think that's what her name is) at Yada. I tried to get in with another girl (referral from a friend that sees her) there but couldn't get scheduled for 1 1/2 weeks, so I took a chance. SO SO GLAD I DID! I wanted a funkier, but not trashy bolder color/foil, not the 90's version of a few highlights, Kimela delivered! I have really cool "peek a boo" color and a GORGEOUS deep solid color to cover some grey, it's a bit ombré, too! I REALLY LOVE IT and feel like Kimela nailed it. I hope my next experience with her will be just as pleasing! With out hesitation, I recommend Kimela. She does an outstanding job (oh, we also had a 20 minute consultation before the service to make sure we were on the same page) and her prices are very reasonable! read more

Genny Lord has been styling my hair for a few years now. She is the first stylist I've seen that actually understands color and placement. No more walking out of a salon with yellow blonde fried hair, or jet black helmet looking hair. She knows what toners to use and gives you the perfect shade you're looking for. She also does great cuts too! I had long hair past my shoulders and she transformed it into an absolutley beautiful A-line. I would highly, highly recommend her!! She is professional, timley, and the most sweetest, positive person you'll ever meet. Also, want edgy? She is current!! She works well with the other stylist to ensure you really get what you're wanting. Some stylist are afraid to ask, but if she has any questions...the Yada team comes together to make sure you walk out of the salon feeling beautiful and fresh! Make the appointment. I've been to this salon 3 times. The first time I went here the girl who did my hair was very good, reasonably priced but she wasn't the most social person. She was very quiet throughout the whole session. I think her name was Amanda. The second and third time was with Genny. I went back to this salon because the first experience went well. It had been a long time since I colored my hair.. And I wanted to go lighter, so when I called I was told that Genny was someone who would do a good job. I booked my first hair appointment and I wasn't really impressed and I felt like she didn't manage her time well. I think she did an ok job on my hair. She didn't really get what I was trying to go for and she gets really overwhelmed very quickly. She is really nice and really wants you to leave happy but I didn't leave all that happy. Then to fix it I wanted to go a little darker and I thought I would give her a second chance. But I just really don't like her style. This is my opinion and this is based off of my experience with her and it just wasn't a good experience. I feel that she doesn't manage her time well, I felt like she just wanted to be done and move on to another person. And I think the way she does her pricing is a bit misleading. I think she is a really nice person but I wouldn't recommend her unless you plan on doing something very simple. The Salon itself is big, clean and worth checking out. read more

Absolutely love this place! First got recommended by a friend to go, and I'm never going to another salon again. I see Jillian, and she's fantastic. Really takes the time to work with you to achieve what you want done with your hair and is very, very nice! I absolutely love what she does with my hair every time I go in. If you want somewhere that has a wonderful atmosphere with wonderful employees, this is definitely the place! I was looking for a salon in the Richland area. Read the reviews on Yelp . Decided to try Yada Salon. Talked to Genny on the phone, she sounded great..made an appointment with her for the next day. Genny was so welcoming and listened to what I wanted to be done with my hair. She actually listened. She did two-step color, haircut, and blow-dry. Genny is amazing! I first heard of Yada from a friend, when I was searching for a new stylist a couple years ago. My first experience there, with Betty as my stylist, was great! She took the time to look through pictures and make suggestions about the color and styles that would look best on me. Since then, I've only had one not-so-great experience there - and that was because another stylist did my cut and color (because Betty was booked up and I wanted to get my hair done as soon as possible).
