Every time I spend the time to feel pretty, I schedule a time to do my hair. Sarajon is my stylist. She is such a beautiful person and knows how to fix my hair every time I damage it. I have a rare disorder, I ripe my hair out one hair at a time...it's called Trichotillomania (google it). I sometimes just sit in her chair and cry, sometimes I sit in her chair and boast about my 3 week record of not ripping my hair out. She always makes me walk out feeling confident!! Went and got my hair done. Was excited from all the good things I heard about the salon. Came with a fairly basic picture and really doesn't look like it at all. Doesn't look bad just doesn't look like the picture... pretty disappointed after sitting for 3.5...I feel like I can barely tell I got my hair done. It's hard to find someone who knows curly hair. I stopped going to salons after many failed visits. I was referred to Beth, and I am so happy with her services. I've had two colors and a cut with her, and each time has exceeded my expectations. My last color, I wasn't sure which way to go. I gave her an idea and she nailed it. I highly recommend this salon. I moved to the tricities about 1.5 years ago and have been searching for an amazing salon and colorist. I was previously getting my hair done at a high end salon in Seattle, but I was nervous about trying somewhere new. I am very particular about my hair, and I decided to book an appointment with Briana after hearing many positive reviews. Well, she was incredible. My hair is glamorous and she uses top of the line coloring products. She will spend a lot of time giving you the perfect color (most other salons just hurry you through and don't think about things like depth and dimension). Terrible service and unprofessional personnel, clowns! I have been planning for my appointment for several weeks and to find childcare on a Saturday. I received a call on my way to the salon to have come in later that afternoon because the stylist decided to perform a more complex style at the costumers request, when that person was not scheduled for that kind of service and length of time. Jade, the stylist, was arrogant and didn't care a bit she had another costumer. This is so disappointing! I called Z place salon and the girl there was able to get me in that same day. Do not go to Encore Salon to get a Brazilian blowout. If I could give zero stars, I would. Kami was the hairstylist who did a very poor job at applying the Brazilian blowout. I have had Brazilian blowouts in the past, and the technique Kami used drastically differed from other hairstylists. I questioned her throughout the process, and she just reassured me that she was following protocol. I made the mistake of trusting her. Literally the next day, my hair was frizzy. I contacted the salon owner, but it was futile. I sent photos to the salon owner showing how frizzy my hair still was. Kami had offered to redo the Brazilian blowout for a discounted price. Why would I go back to the same person who couldn't even do this process correctly the first time? I honestly think she does not have enough experience dealing with hair of different ethnicities. When I asked for a refund because she clearly didn't give me what I paid for, Kami was so rude "educating" me on how the Brazilian blowout does not straighten your hair, only reduces the frizz. Duh you doofus, I've had them before and I'm fully cognizant of what Brazilian blowouts entail and what they don't. She even had the audacity to say that the frizz in the photos are improved versus what my hair would have been without her. Laughable! Also, during the process she tangled my hair so badly that she had to cut a piece off, leaving my hair uneven; didn't even offer to fix her mistake. I understand that she has to pay out of pocket for her supplies and her spot at the salon, but if you do a shitty job, admit it, and give the refund when it's actually legitimate! I don't know how the salon owner could run this business with employees like that. I've already discouraged multiple people to not go there for services. To say I'm disappointed and angry is an understatement. I've included a photo of what my hair looked like after the first wash (using the Brazilian blowout shampoo and conditioner) and dried naturally. The salon is very cute and welcoming from the get go. They are doing a great job following COVID-19 protocols which I had liked a lot. So, my overall first impression of the salon itself was great. But, the stylist was running behind, I waited 15 minutes before I was allowed to come in the salon. Hair dye from doing my shadow roots, had ended up on my cloth mask, my shirt, my face and as well had went into my eye. She don't acknowledge each time that the dye had ended up on my face nor the one time it went into my eye. I had to wipe the dye away a few times myself using my hands. So, I had stained hands as well. Eventually, she noticed the dye was staining my face, and started trying to clean up her mess (but only spent a few seconds trying). It was clear there was still splotches of dye all over my face at the end of the appointment. I had been in her chair for almost 6 hours and I don't recall a time it has even taken this long to do a bayalage on my hair. I realize I do have a lot of hair and there was a few processes needed - however, this is a service I've had done before and was completed within 4 hours. Then, she asked to cut my appt short as she has a second job to go to. So, my haircut wasn't done and didn't get styled. I still paid for those services regardless of them not being completed as she charged for those services. She tried to make it right and asked if I could come in another morning to get my haircut completed and styled. Then cancelled the appointment the morning of the rescheduled appointment. Then she asked to reschedule. As my initial experience already hadn't been great, I didn't really want to come back a second time, let alone have to rearrange my schedule again a third time. I do appreciate her attempts of trying to make things right as not a lot of stylists will do that. However, I paid $250 plus the deposit, for an hair appointment that did not get completed. She should have not charged me for the haircut/hairstyle to begin with as that service was not yet provided, and scheduled me to come back another day for the haircut/style. Which then, I'll pay for those services after the appointment like any other service. I also don't like leaving bad reviews for a stylist providing services as I know they all are on their feet all day, and serving clients. It's not a easy job! The stylist providing the service was nice and the results of my hair color is beautiful. I feel like I would have enjoyed the appointment if we didn't have issues with the dye ending up everywhere, the appointment being cut short, and if she had been more efficient with applying color. After reading other poor reviews about Encore, I wanted to share that I had a similar experience. A couple years ago I went to them to dye my hair back to brown as I had box dyed it and it had faded. After 4 hours, my hair was dyed STRAIGHT black. My hairdresser apologized, said the colors didn't turn out, and said she'd reschedule me for the next morning to try again. How do you accidently dye someone's hair straight black? I came back the next morning, and it took my hairdresser almost 8 hours to get my hair to look somewhat brown. I felt as though I was being worked on by someone in the middle of beauty school, completely unsure of what they were doing and I was the test subject. By the end of the day, my hair was so dry from being redyed over and over again, and no discounts or anything were given despite it being nearly two days of them messing up over and over again. Absolutely loved my experience here. The Studio One Salon I always go to was all booked for prom and I needed to get my roots done. So I was suggested to try the new location, I'm glad I did. I love the atmosphere as soon as I walked in. Jayel the Master Stylist greeted me and offered me coffee or water. We then talked about what I wanted done and she initiated the process. The end results were stunning, and gorgeous I have never loved my hair more. My hair always likes to hold a level of brassiness but she new exactly how to fix it.
