We have been eating fish and chips in the Redcliffe area at a different establishment, for a few years now. Today we decided to try Yabbey Road after checking it out on Yelp! We placed our order during the busy lunch period, and the 20 minute wait was reasonable. We ordered the 4 cod pack which came with $6 chips and free mushy peas, and we added a small home made tartare sauce. We normally only order crumbed fish, as we are concerned about the thickness of the batter on fish. Today we ordered two crumbed and two battered fish! News flash! We are now only going to eat fish and chips from here! The fish was fantastic, and the batter was thin and crispy. The crumbed fish was great, and the chips tasted just as good, firm and not too soggy! The mushy peas were a great addition and the tartare sauce just as nice! The size of the meal was just right for our family of four. Do yourself a favour and try the fish and chips from Yabbey Road!

The fish and chips were excellent here. Although it was very greasy. The seating was a bit uncomfortable but also typical for this area. Service was ok. Definitely stop here if you are in the area.

British style fish and chips and yes mushy peas available too. Reasonably priced and great tasting food. Gluten free batter available too -yum! Good classic rock music in the background to add to the atmosphere.

Best fish n chips on the Redcliffe Peninsula. Great little place to relax with a casual and kid friendly atmosphere.

Very good. Big portions and fun presentation. Always need to eat here when in Brisbane. I preferred the battered.

If you're looking for a GOOD fish 'n chips place, this is it!…read more Here's my criteria on fish and chips: 1. Not too oily or heavily seasoned 2. More fish than batter 3. Fish should taste fresh and the batter should be light and crispy Honey Pot meets all of the above. It's a small deli-style shop so you walk up and order your food. There's a couple of teeny tables and chairs to sit in front if you like. But me and wifey usually take our food towards the water for a meal and a view. We both typically get 1 order each and it's neither too little or too much. I have a bigger and 'meatier' appetite than my wife, but I grab any leftovers from her so it works out pretty well. The fish is perfectly cooked: Soft and hot on the inside, nice and crispy on the outside and it's not overly battered, burnt or oily... It's what I would consider the perfect battered fish. There's no heavy seasoning (of salt or anything else) which I appreciate. They give you a slice of lemon and you can opt to get sauce (which we do) to give the fish more flavour. The chips too are perfectly fried with the outside being nice and crispy and the inside being soft and hot. Other than that, the service speed is neither lightening fast nor is it unbearably slow. And the place is deli-style small so don't expect a quick turnaround if there's a line. But what I will say is that if you happen to be waiting - the food will be worth the wait. Trust me. *Man, just thinking about it now, I want some!! Highly recommend. If you want some really good fish and chips, go here. Price came to $8 per person with a sauce.

I never thought finding a fish and chip shop along Redcliffe beach would be so hard but I had a…read morehankering for F&C and wasn't going to settle for a cafe or pub meal so we vowed to keep walking until we found the real deal. And Honeypot was worth the walk. For $7.20 you can get a fantastic battered fish and chips and if you are feeling nostalgic why not grab a Chiko roll. For fans of authentic potato cakes/scallops which are a full slice of spud you should steer clear...it may fool some but there was no slice of potato to be seen, just mashed up spud shaped into a sneaky slice shape. But that was not enough to dampen my enthusiasm for the crisp, perfectly cooked chips without a hint of excess oil, the firm battered fish and crunchy on the outside, soft on the inside chiko roll. Head down to the beach and enjoy the view while you eat. If your lunch is anything like what we enjoyed you will not be sharing any chippies with the seagulls.

The takeaway is quick with their service and the seafood is always fresh. I've never had to wait more than ten minutes from ordering to receiving. Because there are barbecues always going on across the road, the demand for their chips is always high. I assume, this is the reason why, without fail, they are masters of the deep fried potato delicacy. Even if you don't like fish, you have to buy a large serving from Woody's. What I don't recommend is their barbecue chicken. It's very oil I find and at the end of the day, when that chicken has been sitting there for a good amount of hours it doesn't look appetising. In saying this people still buy it. All I can say is chips - get at them.

I crossed the road to the park to eat it. The fish was nice the rest was a mash of old crumbs from the deep fryer. The Tartare sauce tasted only of oil and garlic and was not pleasant with seafood. I returned the uneaten meal to the shop just to show them how bad it was.Taylor the girl who took my order took it away. I was walking back down the road when the owner came running after me, yelling very loudly "I MADE THE TARTARE SAUCE IT IS GOOD".He then yelled towards waiting customers "my sauce is good" they seemed as upset and confused as I was. I looked at this man who was wearing a dirty apron and had dirty hands and walked away. 0 rating
