OK I'm gonna give you a long and boring story, but it's my tale of Y2Komics and why I'm giving them a pretty good score. If you start reading this, please go all the way to the end. A few years back, around the time when the newer Scarlet Spider comics (Kane in that sweet red & black suit) was just getting started, I had just gotten back into buying comics. Not really collecting, but I'm not much for digital comics. I prefer to hold the books in my hand, I prefer to support local businesses, and I've always enjoyed the atmosphere of the comic book store experience. So, when I hadn't found the issues I was wanting at the place I usually went to, I did some Googling and found Y2Komics. My first visit was uneventful. Nothing bad really. The store was more gaming focused than the places I usually ended up going to but that's fine. Variety and all that. Plus they had a really good selection of graphic novels, TPBs, and back issues so it was fine. Some time later I found myself back at Y2Komics looking to fill out a story arc I was reading and I went in to see if they had what I needed. Luckily (or so it seemed), they did. Sadly though, after picking up a stack of books I wanted to buy I made my way to the counter where no one was seeing to customers. Everyone in the store was at gaming tables in the back. I looked for a bell to ring but found none. I called out "Is anyone working here today?". I called out again "Can someone help me?". Now, I may be a comic book nerd, but I don't conform to the stereotypes. I'm not small and I don't mumble. I have a big booming voice and it does carry. So after calling out for help 3 times, after waving my hands in the air trying to get the attention of anyone who would be willing to complete my purchase, I sat my stack of books down on the counter and walked out swearing I wouldn't return. Lucky for them I'm an honest person because I likely could have walked out with anything I wanted from the front half of the store. So a few years have past now and I once again have started picking up some comics from time to time. The old place I used to buy from closed down but Y2Komics is still going strong. So when I couldn't get a copy of a recent issue of a DC story I'm reading I decided to put this old grudge aside and see if they had the book I was looking for. I'm quite glad that I did. Unfortunately they didn't have the comic book I was hoping to find, but what they did have was a staff who was not only willing, but eager to help me. When I mentioned the book I wanted the fellow helping me went to the shelf himself to double check. He said he was really sorry they'd sold out of their second order of Batman: Dawnbreaker and he looked up when they might get a second printing for me. He then went on to tell me about other books coming soon and suggested other things I might like. The point is, this was a guy who wanted my business. A guy who wanted me to leave his store happy and well served. And I did just that. I bought other stuff just because the guy was so enthusiastic about comics! This was a great visit and I am eager to return this Wednesday to try and get my next issues. I'm giving this review a 4/5, but I fully expect they'll get the fifth star on my next visit. Thanks Y2Komics for really making me feel welcome and wanted. I will be back! ***UPDATE*** I just went back and once again was given excellent service by some people who clearly care about this hobby. I gotta give them the 5th star. These guys are for real.

Service was pretty good. The two women that were working with extremely nice and friendly. A down…read moreto earth and chill vibe. Selection was pretty amazing. Would have to say it was in my top 10 places for comics. Most stores are very small, limited selection. This was not the case here. Value: cover price items for the books for the most part. The condition of the comics was 50/50. A few books I wanted had some heavy edging to them. The spines were not in the best shape but that was just the ones I picked up and looked at. I made an exception for the ones I bought because I try to never go into a store and not buy at least one thing. Always trying to keep the indie comic places around with one book at a time. This section explains why the store got 4 and not 5 from me. Is it worth chancing out? Absolutely! Oh... do not use the address in Yelp. It's wrong. Use Google or Waze.

I am not sure how long this shop has been open, but I only recently noticed them. After stopping in…read moretwice now, I decided to do a check in and noticed they weren't even in Yelp yet. This being Christmas time, I thought I'd add them in. Who knows, maybe they'll get some last minute shoppers? Anyway, this LCS has a proper assortment if comics, comic book character memorabilia and accoutrements, games, gaming spaces, all the things that make a proper local comics shop. A pretty great selection of collectibles too, if I do say so. Well worth your time if you're a geek, or someone who buys gifts for the geekiest among us (which includes me, that's not a derogatory term in this context). Consider stopping By!

The cutest plant shop with wonderful terrarium classes! Highly recommend for a girls night out…read moreactivity! My friends and I booked a terrarium class at Ephemera and had a wonderful experience! The class is about an hour long and includes a walk through of the plants, step-by-step instructions on how to build the terrarium, and an opportunity to personalize your little garden. Our instructor was very knowledgeable and friendly! He was patient with us and did a great job demoing each step. I love all the little figurines you can add and that the prices range based on what you want. Looking forward to my next class!

It was just lively enough -- there was a couple making a pretty large terrarium together and a handful of others who came in and out to buy a small plant or little knickknack, and this shop is bursting with both. You'll find all kinds of beautiful houseplants (will yours live in the sun or shade?), a variety of containers (terrariums!) in every size and shape, and endless decorative goodies to personalize your new plant-home with: crystals, pebbles, dried flowers and leaves, tiny toys and figurines, glitter and gemstones. For $25 you can choose a small plant, a small terrarium, and then have access to a specific assortment of decorative items. You can purchase any other knickknacks and doodads that speak to you, haha. They seriously have tiny figurine versions of everything... animals, superheroes, food items, zombies and aliens, cars, cartoon characters, seasonal stuff. I chose a little witch and tiny barn owl to add to my terrarium. It's the cutest thing ever! And the guy who sold it to me and walked me through the whole process was really cool and funny. He made everyone in the store feel comfortable and proud of what they were doing, haha, but he didn't hover! He was just a cool guy who seemed to like his job, which is really nice to see. I have so many ideas for more terrariums, both for both myself and as gifts!! I'll be back soon.
