I feel a moral obligation to write this review, given the stellar reviews…read more I waited a bit to review, because I wanted to make sure I had as much information as possible before writing it. I hired the team to hang and tape/mud about 1000 sqft of drywall. I had a number of quotes, and Solution DryTex was one of the higher ones, but still within reason. I went with them because of their responsiveness and friendliness. I fired them part way through the work. I had six other drywall companies out to inspect their work - all six said it was unacceptably poor - four of them said to tear it out and start over. As they started hanging, they were doing an alright job, though slightly messier than I would've liked. As they continued, they did a few things that were absolutely unacceptable: - Extensive over-driven screws, which means the drywall will not hold well - Breaks in drywall not directly over a stud/joist, which means the drywall will flex and crack - Extremely poor shimming, meaning the drywall will be crooked - Random pieces of trash sitting behind drywall, meaning the drywall wasn't sitting level - Unnecessary breaks in drywall, which will cause more visual imperfections. - Completely crooked pieces that won't be able to made to look good, no matter the amount of mud I brought up some of these concerns, and they attempted to fix them. The fixes were wholly inadequate. Before I had a chance to circle back with regards to those fixes, they begun taping. After I saw their taping work, I promptly fired them. The taping work contained a number of major problems: - Prefill huge gaps using premixed mud, which will take weeks to dry (if ever) - Mud all over my brand new windows - Bubbled tape that won't be able to be hidden - Globs of mud used to fill an inch wide gap - Corner beads with large curves in them I messaged them repeatedly, telling them they needed to return my money, given the fact that I was going to have to redo all of their work, and they wasted thousands of dollars in material. I received no responses. The team is very nice - they're a pleasure to be around. But no amount of kindness makes up for the fact that they have no idea what they're doing. I don't feel particularly good about leaving this review, but I think it's the right thing to do - I don't want them to take advantage of others like they took advantage of me. EDIT: In response to the owner: Scope of work: Correct, the work was interrupted before it was finished. This was after trying to get poor work corrected. I have also verified with six independent teams that the quality of the work was not such that it could be made to look good and last. Site conditions: Regarding framing, the team came out ahead of the project and spent quite a while measuring. If the framing was not acceptable, then that would've been the time to say so. Client collaboration: Now you're just being strictly dishonest, because moving the cabinets was explicitly included in the agreement. And you used _one_ sheet of drywall, mostly because you used the 1/2 drywall in the wrong places and needed to make up for that fact. Quality of work and adjustments: The work was so far from professional that it could not be adequately adjusted. I have verified this with SIX different companies, to make sure I'm being reasonable in my assessment. Track record: I can't speak to this. All I know is my experience.

Steve provided several great suggestions for us after walking through to see what we needed - which we really appreciated. His crew had great attention to detail (our new doors required a bunch of precise masking) and did really high quality work. They also left the house super clean - we didn't find even a scrap of tape left behind. We couldn't be happier with the outcome, and the cost was reasonable - especially given the high quality. We will definitely use Evolution for our next project - highly recommended!

In 2022 Ron was responsive and ensured the window panes were replaced. In May of 2026 more seals on the same batch of windows failed, but now Ron is no longer responsive. He put us in touch with an Alside branch manager (who FINALLY sent us a list of the serial numbers for our windows) and washed his hands of us. Ron didn't responded to my last email, just forwarded it to the Alside Rep. So while their work is fine, their customer service isn't.

I wanted to add French doors to our bonus room to create a home office for my wife. Dewayne came to the house, took measurements, and gave me an honest quote. He mentioned his pricing might be a bit higher, but his work would reflect that--and it absolutely did. He helped me shop for materials, and once the doors arrived, he showed up right on time and got to work. The result was beautiful. He even installed the hardware and doorstops. A few days later (6/8/25), he came back to sand and paint the doors--and they look stunning. My wife was so pleased, she moved in that same day. I'm truly a happy customer. Impressed by his work, I hired him again on 6/10/25 to replace the roof on my front porch. He discovered significant rot, replaced everything, waterproofed the new roof, and cleaned up thoroughly. He even hauled away all the debris. When I noticed a small detail I didn't love, Dewayne listened and fixed it immediately--no hesitation. Dewayne is easy to talk to, highly professional, and clearly cares about making customers happy. I highly recommend him and his team for any home improvement work. I'm already planning the next project--hardwood floors throughout the house. Thank you, Dewayne. Fantastic job!

My original review is below: We hired Unique Northwest Building for carpentry and drywall work to upgrade the interior design of our home. We installed some wooden slats and installed a new door. It's very rare to find contractors who go above and beyond and Daniel from Unique Northwest was one. We are extremely pleased with Daniel's work (refer to photos). While the photos speak for themselves, for those interested in learning more about our experience, read further. From the get-go, we were very pleased with Daniel's responsiveness. Due to Covid and some logistical issues on our end, our request was conducted via phones and photos. Daniel was prompt, communicative and addressed our concerns. We were concerned about project scope as we couldn't conduct an in home visit (again, due to an issue on our side), however, Daniel had scoped it correctly and there were no last minute bait and switches in pricing, which we appreciate a lot. During the job, Daniel went to great pains to understand the details of our requirements and did a walk through the house to made sure he had got it all right. On the job, he was quick on his feet, yet thorough and precise in his woodwork. When necessary, he went by himself to procure the wood and other materials we needed and ensured he had it all right. If there were any issues he found while doing the woodwork, he would let us know immediately to confirm his proposal, and we mostly deferred to his expertise - which he had in plenty. In three days, he transformed our house from a mediocre place to a gorgeous layout. We had some other minor issues that needed fixing in the house (fixing some plumbing), which Daniel took care quickly as well. He had to come for an extra half day to finish some paint work as it needed time to dry, which he did meticulously again. We are extremely pleased with our result, and all of our friends have loved the new design. I would 100% recommend Unique Northwest Building and Daniel for any of my contracting work and would definitely hire him again. Thank you again Daniel was doing a fantastic job!

I had a specific budget and design (marble white themed) in mind and Daniel was able to meet all these and exceeded our expectations. His communication is very prompt, accurate, complete and he provided insights and recommendations that I appreciate along the way. Our home remodel took over 2 months to complete and he single handedly did most of the work, and only subcontracted the electrician, plumbing, and custom glass shower door. He came to our house on time and worked on the rooms sequentially. He left the work in progress rooms and our house organized and clean all the time. He worked on a few weekends to ensure the project ended on time, and this was also because I added scope along the way. We were very impressed with his professionalism, patience, and his attention to detail, that even there are areas that I didn't plan for him to address, he took the initiative to address it to make the look complete and right. I would highly recommend Daniel to anyone looking for the best value and quality work for their home. Many people have who have seen the remodel can't stop complimenting and have been asking for his info for their next home project. I won't be surprised if his schedule gets booked quickly!
