Xtend Barre Queenstown offers a fantastic low impact exercise alternative which promises those long desired lean and toned babe'n bodies most gals dream of.
I started with this studio when they first opened a few months ago. As an individual who loves to commit to a strong exercise regime, barre encompasses my love of pilates and it's benefits, with a promise of getting my heart rate up and burning even more calories. (You will seriously sweat - this is no lie!).
The location is perfect for Western suburb's rollers like myself, and is the first studio of it's kind down this side of town.
The studio is brand new with a simple and modern layout and plenty of windows for natural light - adding to the overall calming and relaxing Zen-feel.
A range of classes are offered including standard barre classes each day, a stick variation barre class, a technique class for beginners, stride which encompasses some light interval running with barre, pilates and yoga. With plans for more classes in the future, Xtend is building a strong following.
The instructors are all fantastic. Each have their own specialities, and there is no doubt you will find your favourites amongst them. Management greet you with big smiles, and it's great to be consistently provided with friendly and helpful service.
Furthermore I highly recommend trying the studio's unlimited two week trial for new non-members. It's a great inexpensive way to figure out if barre is for you and which times and instructors suit you and your needs. You may find a new love for this unique work out.
I've personally found barre a fantastic work out which has greatly assisted me in my rehabilitation from having deep vein thrombosis. I still get fantastic results and can keep up a reasonable fitness level by undertaking a lower intensity workout. Letting the instructors know of any injuries is extremely beneficial, as you will find they will give you loads of support and always provide alternative options for certain exercises to those who have injuries.
Consistent commitment will definitely provide you some proud results even if you are like me and are forced to come to the realisation you will sadly never have the coordination of a ballerina EVER; and whilst you may think you look like a graceful Swan at the time, appear closer in reality to a challenged penguin. But don't worry, there is hope for some plié-inspired buns of steel instead. And who doesn't want a perky toned butt?! Makes looking like an uncoordinated penguin justifiable. (Tip-Just try not to look at yourself in the mirror during class). read more
