The instructors, Jeff and Cindy are so great! They are welcoming, encouraging, and professional. There are many regulars that attend the basics class as a warm up and then take the level 2 class an hour later. I have gone to 3 classes and plan on taking more in the future. I have also attended a members social that had food, drinks, music, and two hours of fun. Everyone that I have met at the classes are friendly and patient when I ask questions or get the moves wrong. I feel that I can only get better with practice and experience. There are other classes offered at the ballroom like Salsa,Tango, Country Two-Step,Country Swing and more! Check out their website for dates, times, and class levels.

You bet I am! This is Northern Nevada's only nonprofit dance studio and they are doing everything they can to get everyone dancing. The research on partnership dancing and aging has been phenomenal! That alone should encourage everyone to dance! The Ballroom offers a free Dance With Me program for those who have cognitive and/or mobility issues such as Parkinson's or dementia. There is an afterschool program through Reno Housing Authority in underserved areas. There is also a program for young children! Last night was the annual fundraiser Gala for the studio and what fun we all had. What wonderful performances by all. And yes, I have the parent's permission to post the pictures of the youngest student to perform at the studio!

The price is extremely affordable and they discount your monthly membership fee with every referral. Each member of our family has individual memberships and my son's is now free because he's brought in his high school buddies to work out. As expected, a decent number of Spanish Springs and Reed High kids work out, along with a few UNR students, which brings a lot of energy! We chose this gym 18 months ago because they had relaxed mask policies, which was important to us. They don't offer an extended amount of classes, which is reflected in my rating. Other than that, we thoroughly enjoy it!

She joined only to use a trainer. 4 months in he raised his rate above what she could afford. She never used any equipment or other services with them, she called to cancel. She asked if they could mail or email the cancellation. They refused. She was not willing to drive then and we had no idea that she gave up trying to cancel. She just let the charges happen till this April when I was helping her with an issue and saw the monthly charge. My wife and I went into the gym and talked to the manager. She said she had to cancel in person and refused any refund. However, she did cancel the account without my mother-in-law present. It took 2 minutes. They clearly knew they had an old lady who didn't know what to do, a fitness center contract is only good for 2 years. Didn't matter to Eagle, they had easy money and continued you charge her. Then when confronted, basically gave us the finger. Not a good local business to support.

So surprised I went, SO GLAD I did…read more I was expecting a burlesque show. What got was more. The group did acts from the 20's to the present about an hour of time, with a short intermission. Loved the first two opening acts. They were great and I loved their choice in music. It was the old school vaudeville burlesque style. As acts continued we had clothing and music from the 60's, 70's and 80's. The final act had to be from the present since I didn't recognize the music. Each performer did a fantastic job at costume and music selection, as well as putting together the right theatrical dance. I enjoyed the old school feel of the show. I did miss a fan dance- a Sally Rand impersonation would have topped off the night. Right up front the audience was told how the troupe is about celebrating the woman- no matter their sexual orientation, color or size. Any ill manners are not tolerated and you will be removed promptly. It takes quite a bit of nerve to perform in front of so many strangers. If you ever see the name, catch the show.

Bell's singing was so beautiful and Geston was hilariously full of himself (how he should be)! All of the performers were so good (and I know a few were High School or younger which is very impressive). Vocals on point, costumes/props perfection, choreography awesome, and we had the best time. I can't imagine how much time it takes to put something like this together... the talent! I'm exited to see what other plays they will be doing down the road. My daughter was dancing around the house when we got home pretending to be one of the performers. (The best compliment is imitation right?!) Well done!!

The group did an incredible job in their presentation of this 1950's Broadway hit. Gamblers, gangsters, show girls and missionaries all collide in this comedic musical. The entire ensemble seemed perfectly casted. The over 100 costumes propelled you swiftly back to the mobster era of the late 20's. All the voices were strong and on mark. The dance scenes were full of energy. I enjoyed the simple set they created. It allowed for quick scene turnarounds. Performances at the Hawkins Amphitheater are wonderful. Set up on the natural hillside inside Bartley Ranch, you can enjoy outdoor shows in the Nevada evenings. Seating was good, easy line of vision to the stage, as we sat rows 4 and 5 with seats 1,2, & 3. Sound was great through the entire show. Seating was reserved pre sales. I do recommend bringing a cushion. The spacious metal seats can get a hard by the second act. Plenty of on property parking. Bring a flashlight to get back to your car. There are no lot lights. Why don't more residents enjoy our local theater groups. They are so affordable and simply do a fantastic job.

A wonderful magic show inside the Grand Sierra Hotel & Casino…read more I was looking for something to do without leaving the hotel for a major conference. I saw that they were advertising this show...and I like a good magic show. It did not disappoint. The sleight of hand and on-stage demonstrations were incredible. I was still banging my head of how they did it or maybe it was the cocktail at the bar that was playing tricks on my mind. As a guest of the hotel, I had a 20% coupon and promptly used it at the ticket office, though I think I should have picked my seat better. Nonetheless, I was in the second row and I was able to get a good look of the magic up close. If you arrive early, you can hang out for Happy Hour, they had some unique drinks including the local standby beers and cocktails...and mocktails for those attending the all-ages show. I recommend seeing this show on a Friday or Saturday night if you want a bit more rambunctious, racy show.

After happy hour ended a bud light and high noon was $18. I can't believe they turned the old movie theater into a magic show theater. I sat there thinking about all the movies I saw at the Hotel and the first time I had a drink in a movie theater so long ago, 1989. It was fun in the bar prior to the doors opening they have a magical experience for adults and kids to set the mood for the evening. Tracy the bartender was awesome! She also works at Blitz during the day. She has the kindest soul and such a people person! It was like I had known her for years. They have a box office where you can purchase tickets. Very hard to hear the gal! They definitely need a microphone to speak to each other. If you think you're going to save a few extra dollars on those service fees - you may have to think twice, just purchase on line. It's much easier. Also, they have a snack bar with fresh popped popcorn $9 -$13 and huge pretzels $14. Chase Hasty and his wife have traveled around the world to over 25 countries sharing their magical talent and ballet dancing skills. My favorite part of the show was when Chase brought out a locked box and Hoisted the box with a rope up to the ceiling and told this guy to watch the box. Later in the show they opened the box, it was a pretty impressive trick!!! One not to be forgotten!! It's a small production but well thought out with couple extra dancers and costumes changes. I love that Chase, picks people out of the audience to help with the show. Maddox was a return kid that had been practicing his magic and Chase let him perform in front of the audience and what is that called "That's Magic!!!" It's nice the performers will met you afterwards in the hallway to have pictures and ask questions. It's a great family night or you can come to the later show at 9pm for a little more risky nocturnal show. I'll have to save that one for another time!
