It has to be one of the most glamorous places in SA to go to the gym, complete with chandeliers and works of art adorning the walls. The place is massive and the facilities are state of the art - you never need to fight for a space to exercise. The class times are a bit awkward and don't really suit city workers, who I'd assume would be their biggest clients - so I'd recommend checking that out before you join. I'm hopeful that as they grow they will have more classes (especially yoga!) available. The biggest downfall is parking - unfortunately they have no designated parking and the car park across the road closes at 7pm which doesn't help those of us wanting to train after work. Street parking is the way to go but often difficult - unless you are doing a 6am class. Overall, a great gym and can't wait to see how it improves as time goes by!

The staff are friendly, always saying hello and goodbye when you leave the gym. The people who have set this gym up have a keen eye to detail, they are interested in providing an innovative gym experience. I have started with a Personal Trainer recently and it has been one of the best things that I have done. We have been incorporating a few crossfit exercises into my training and he has been able to make the training specific to my strenghth building needs that compliments my other activities. The gym boasts lots of great activities such as pilates, gravity yoga and pole conditioning. There is even a cafe on the ground floor with a wide selection of goodies for gym junkies. And if you have children, there are childcare facilities too. I haven't had a problem with carparking before or after hours either.

As the name suggests, the gym is open 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. There are personal trainers and staff in the gym at particular periods of the day, but it's open to members whenever they wish to access it. The equipment is state of the art and brand new, with a range of weight machines, free weights, treadmills and much more. They also have cycling simulators with which you can race with someone adjacent to you. It's like playing a videogame, only you have to put in all the work that the cyclist is doing on the screen. It's a great way to rule out the dread of exercise and turn it into a fun activity. The security is top-notch and is a necessity for a gym that is unmonitored by staff for the majority of the day. Members gain access using an electronic keyfob, and a camera armed with face recognition software will alert personnel if the keyfob is being used by anyone other than its owner. Emergency panels are also ready inside in the case of injury or danger. The other week my girlfriend and I used the same keyfob to get in, as I'd forgotten mine at home. The next day she received a call from security staff, informing her that someone had entered the gym with her device. Despite the false alarm, it was incredibly reassuring that the security personnel is on its toes!

And I've gotta say, it's quite an experience. I'm between gyms at the moment. I've probably sunk a small fortunate in testing out gyms with which I have no membership. I guess I'm afraid of making a commitment, or I'm waiting for one to jump out at me. So far, I'd say 24fit is dancing quite happily at the top of my list. The facilities are great. All the equipment is in mint condition and very easy to use. I've a friend who has a membership here, and I heard about the place from him. I've so far attended twice and have had a huge amount of fun racing him on the virtual cyclist races. I've a feeling if I had a membership at this gym I'd build up my legs quick-smart. A great, fantastic gym. If you're looking around for one like I am, you might just settle on this one, as I'm most likely to do.

It is such a different space of course and I have to say I'm impressed with what they have done. The facilities are fantastic with individual unisex shower/toilet rooms. The staff are extremely friendly and the prices are more than affordable. I noticed most of the cardio equipment is the Life Fitness arrange which means you can download an app and login with a QR scan and track your fitness regime. Great to see their security measures - being a 24 hour fitness centre, you can wear a security tag that links directly to security if you feel you're threatened when there on your own outside of normal business hours. Definitely a place to consider for your fitness needs!

My partner and I signed up around may-June. With nothing but hassle. The person that signed us up, named Riley (who has since been fired for fraud) told us nothing about signing up to a lock in contract. We only were told once the late payments happened. I went in to settle the account and also gave this Riley boy my details over the counter to then still get charged late fees and my details had gone into thin air. After expressing my frustration they told us there isn't much they can do, the fee is around $300 to get out of the contract and we can freeze our accounts but it's a $5 fee each week for both of us. Mind you we have then got an email saying that from 8/7/25-1/09 we won't be charged anything and payments start again on the 4/09/25. Keep in mind we've been over charged for late fees that wouldn't of been charged if my bank details were taken and done nothing with them, also in the "free of charge period" I was charged $60 in different transactions. I've gone in today with no help. I'm getting asked to repeat parts of the story that don't matter like that I told them I never really wanted to join but got roped in by this Riley person. Irrelevant to the whole situation? I've also somehow since the payments starting again on the 4th of september weve been charged $151.43 which im not sure how any of this adds up. What would you do, I have tried to get in contact with the regional manager whom i had to seek out her details if correct as they refuse to give me the details to pass on the matter.

I joined when this gym first started up because the marketing campaign was uber-persuasive, and I thought it would be nice to get fit in a low key setting with other birds. Plus it looked pretty cheap. What I found was a small circle of equipment that was so low impact I could barely feel myself moving. I think I was the only woman there under forty and perhaps the machines were at the lowest setting to reduce impact for older ladies, but if that's the case, should I not have been warned by the staff that maybe it wasn't for me? Anyway, after two sessions of circling around and yawning with boredom I went back to jogging. It's free, and at least I know for sure I'm exercising.

But I wanted to highlight the importance of cutting past the shiny brochures and smooth sales pitch when considering a membership at Next Gen. There's no doubt that it's an impressive gym with 5-star facilities. The problem is the management seems to think so too. They're guilty of being complacent at times with customer service. There's eagle-eyed attention to detail when it comes to signing new members. An activities board at the entrance, used to make it look like there's heaps of stuff going on, is updated daily. In reality, the information on this board is next to useless for members. But things you'd actually like to use, the iron, the scale, the toilets take ages to be fixed when they break. It's not often you need to talk to a staff member, but when you do, you can feel like you're interrupting. They're particularly bad at acknowledging you and at worst can be snarky. Which is funny because they mostly seem like good people and that it's the general culture around the gym. I'd like to join the council gym (North Adelaide Aquatic centre) which you can bundle with a years worth of golf at the North Adelaide Golf Course for roughly the same price as an ace member at Next Gen. But even though my contract's up, Next Gen requires 3 months notice to quit. I'm the idiot who signed the contract, but why do they make it so hard to leave..? Their facilities are impressive, but are not matched with equally impressive service.

North Adelaide runs a fully equipped gymnasium with separate weights and cardio room. In addition, they have two rooms allocated for fitness classes. They run all of the popular Les Mills classes and a couple of their own including Pilates, Yoga and Kickboxing. They also offer RPM in the cycling room downstairs but I cannot tell you what it's like because RPM is the worst kind of pain ever invented and I rather poke my own eyes out then go. The staff are super friendly and will sit down with you and work out what they can do for you to help with your weight loss and fitness goals. They will also create a personal fitness plan for free and they go through all of the exercises and movements so they can be performed and safely and correctly for the maximum benefits. They also run boot camps and fund raising fitness classes which make for an exciting and uplifting atmosphere, where you really feel welcome. Because of its location there is limited parking which can be a pain in the butt, and the street is also used as a shortcut for traffic coming from the city. So try to avoid peak times and there will be less traffic, more parking, and less sweaty beefy men filling the weights room!
