He wanted us to provide card and account details and he would sort it in a few days. I was not happy with this as we were flying home tomorrow. When I stood my ground, the owner threatened to call the police, which I was quite happy with. I think he thought I'd walk away which I didn't. I called the credit card company and logged a fraudulent transaction (it had 2 ARN codes so had been put through twice). Police arrived and it backfired on the owner as they were very much on our side. Can't fault the police, they were brilliant. They insisted the owner resolve the situation immediately or the waiter would not be allowed to work there again, and they would both be off to the local nick. He paid us cash and we went on our way. Be vigilant folks, there is always someone looking to rip off a 'dumb tourist'. It also put a few potential diners off too as no one like to see the owner and waiter being interviewed by the police. His loss, silly man.
