Inside the restaurant was cute and a little funky. However, it seemed off that evening. I noticed that many of the tables hadn't been cleaned off. Chairs were not neatly tucked in. The dining room looked in disarray. Yet, there was no one else there. If I hadn't read the good reviews on here, I would've just left. We found a clean table, and we had to ask the server for menus. The salads we ordered were good, but they needed more dressing. The ingredients were fresh, and I genuinely did enjoy the food. However, the state of the dining room and inattentive service set a not-so-great vibe. Perhaps it's different earlier in the day. Perhaps it was an off night.

The staff seemed unsure of what I was referring to, and I got the impression they may have been new. Another employee stepped in to help, which I appreciated. However, I noticed that I was charged more than the price listed on the online menu. The rice bowl itself was delicious. You could tell the ingredients were fresh and it didn't have that generic corporate chain flavor. The steak was tender, the sauce paired really well, and I especially enjoyed the corn in the bowl. Overall, I'm glad I gave this place a try. I do think the staff could benefit from better training, and I was disappointed by being overcharged compared to the advertised online price.
