If you're comparing it to somewhere like Cava, it does take a bit longer, but it's clearly made with care. Everything tastes homemade, fresh, and noticeably better. Visited for dinner. There is a small parking lot in the back which can be hard to locate a spot as it's shared with a popular Italia restaurant next door. Inside the restaurant was cute and a little funky. However, it seemed off that evening. I noticed that many of the tables hadn't been cleaned off. Chairs were not neatly tucked in. The dining room looked in disarray. Yet, there was no one else there. If I hadn't read the good reviews on here, I would've just left. We found a clean table, and we had to ask the server for menus. The salads we ordered were good, but they needed more dressing. The ingredients were fresh, and I genuinely did enjoy the food. We had a good lunch here. We are not vegan nor vegetarians, but every now and then we do crave something "healthy". We were doing errands and getting ready to do some food shopping. I don't like going to the grocery store hungry cause who knows what I'll buy then, and I remembered this restaurant had opened here not long ago. We were familiar with the building location. We have been to a number of different places here. So we knew that the parking lot was behind the building. You enter from the back door from the lot. When we stopped by, it was basically a one man band. He was making the food, taking the phone orders, and the payments. Luckily they were not very busy -- a gal sitting at the counter, and one other table occupied. But there were a few takeout/pickup orders. Even though they have regular seating, we ordered at the counter. We thought it would be easier. We decided to share a tuna wrap. It had mixed greens and avocado on it. Plus it came with a side salad. The wrap was very good. I ordered a plain lemonade which he made for me in the blender. It was refreshing, but may have had pineapple in it as a sweetener or the machine still had pineapple on it. I'm allergic. I'm glad I only had a few sips. I usually try to visit restaurants in the area that I've not visited before. Today I had lunch at Whole Green Cafe. It's not a vegetarian or vegan only place but they have lots to satisfy the vegan palate if that's your persuasion. I wanted something different so I chose the Quinoa bowl. It was obviously prepared fresh and all the ingredients were crisp and delicious. The bowl itself comes with sliced cherry tomatoes, avocado, broccoli, cauliflower, red cabbage, sweet potato and a few stalks of asparagus. And of course lots of Quinoa and a green goddess dressing. It was a hot food bowl and there was a small amount of paprika sprinkled on some of the vegetables. If you want to add protein, you can for about five dollars. I didn't even finish eating before I started my review. Came in and got the Ahi Poke Bowl. I was surprised because it's SO big- I couldn't finish it. Honestly, I didn't expect much but it was delicious. And the price was about $16, the same as the fast food poke places but triple the meat, and actually really good. My dad got a salad he said it was great too. I walked by some girl eating a gyro, which was gigantic and looked SO GOOD. If I lived in the area I'd be here every day. Had some questions about ingredients for food sensitivities and ingredient swapping because I couldn't have rice and gluten. Wanted a poke bowl. Was asking the guy what we could do instead- perhaps extra broccoli? He said he wasn't sure how to charge it, i said i was more than happy to pay an up charge - for a little extra broccoli . The guy seemed quite unsure of how to handle it- points to the manager or owner not empowering their staff to do a good job???!! But where it got awful - and we walked out- was when Joshua the employee chimed in under his breath while he sat at a table nearby, "we don't negotiate prices." Negotiate? Man I am just trying to get food in my bowl and pay a more than fair price. We let them know our party of five with tip would have cost us $150. We asked Joshua if he knew what was happening. He clearly did not. We walked out frustrated and terribly mistreated. Gross. Won't return. I hope the owner takes this as a sign to train the employees better and if an employee wants to be a dick, he should maybe not work there anymore. I could hear the conversation in the background between the person who answer the phone and I assume the manager.
