Cool, dark spot for a date. Somewhere between casual and classy. They have excellent characterie boards and sparkling wine cocktails. That' said, this place is called Xampañeria and there are ZERO actual Champagne options by-the-glass, which is super disappointing (they have an okay selection of Cava and other sparklers). And even on the list, it's all grandes marques, and quite overpriced. I expected more variety and some grower producers for a place that supposedly focuses on Champagne. Overall, an enjoyable experience as a bar/hangout spot, but disappointing from a wine lover's standpoint. read more

This was probably the worst stop for drinks and food of our entire 10 day trip to CDMX. The waiter spoke great English and it really put my partner and I at ease - we should have been more vigilant. We wanted something off of the drink menu, just Titos and Cranberry, ezpz, right? For food, we also ordered pizza. Initially, I said I would try the arroz con pollo, but I changed my mind after I saw pizza on the menu, the waiter verified he understood. We had our Titos and Cranberry, and it was weak, so I ordered another shot, I ask the waiter how much each shot of titos is, and he said "ah... I don't remember." After this, one of their food runners comes out with the arroz con pollo, which I reminded the waiter we got the pizzas instead, so they take it back to the kitchen, rightfully so. We finish our drinks and we ask for the bill, and for drinks we both had a Titos and Cranberry and had the shot added on the side because the drink was very weak. On our bill, they charged us 255 pesos (15 US Dollars) per shot, which is absolutely absurd. The waiter not knowing it ridiculous. Whatever- we are paying now, and his machine conveniently doesn't work, so he tries it twice more, which put a hold of 100 bucks on my checking account, THREE TIMES. My partner tries his card and it does the SAME thing, it doesn't work and he blames the machine. He offered to give us the receipt with all of the recent transactions, which had other card numbers on it. Do NOT go here. The drinks are too weak for 15 USD for a shot of Titos - a bottle of titos is literally 15 bucks, and the waiter DID NOT disclose the price on purpose. Do not eat or drink at this terrible, scammer bar, they try ALL the games they can. It took 4 days for the three pending charges to drop off my bank account. Imagine if you were on a budget and couldn't afford your account being 300 bucks less for 4 days of your CDMX trip, it could ruin it! AVOID AVOID AVOID!! read more

We had some drinks and snacks after a failed dinner (just me). I had the white margarita and the porn star. They were both quite tasty. It is here that I also learned I like taro chips. My husband had the oxtail burger sliders that he said we're decent. We also had the ham croquettas that were good. I'll come back because those drinks were on point. read more

Cute champagne bar! I went on a Monday night and was a blast. There was an awesome DJ playing some early 2000s R&B! Wasn't expecting that mood but I appreciated it! The bar tenders were awesome, knowledgeable and excited about their jobs. We asked about their favorite Mezcales and our bartender had us try a few different options. He was so excited to talk about his top five faves. Then they had a signature cocktail that was created by a star guest bartender. Came here around 9pm on a Monday night, the place is pretty empty but the DJ was busting a funky tune and it feels alive. The place has really nice decor. It doesn't have traditional Mexico menu, mostly tapas with Mexican twist. They also have wide range selection of champagne and champagne cocktails at a really reasonable price. Also they have a full bar you can choose from. Food is perfect, the octopus appetizer has really good flavor, and the potato is delicious. Service is excellent DJ is really good at what he is doing, but there's no dance floor. We turned the place up as the night goes. Defiantly have a blast the night there. read more

This place was one of our favorite places to eat and drink in Mexico City. Located in a nice, trendy part of the city and we never felt unsafe walking to it. The sign outside actually says "La Xampa" so it might be confusing at first but it's easy to find cause it's right on the street corner. Our server was fantastic and him speaking English was an added bonus. His drink recommendations were superb (and I can be picky at times). If you like ceviche make sure to get it here - it was excellent. read more

Usually when I go on vacation, I try not to go to one place more than once... but Xampañería was an exception. A champagne bar tucked into the trendy Condesa neighborhood, this bar is a great option for whatever type of night you're looking for. One of the biggest reasons my traveling partner and I came here was because it's open way later than most bars in CDMX - it's open until about 3am, and considering we didn't start our nights until after midnight, it was the obvious choice. It's also right next door to Azul, so you can grab a drink here while you wait for a table. Ambiance is dimly-lit, dark wood tables, wood panelling everywhere, and lots of glass windows. It's intimate, with a steady buzz of music and chatter, but not loud. The menu is extensive, with a plethora of champagne options for whatever taste you're going for. However, they also have a fun cocktail menu, mostly with champagne and other alcohol mixed in. I ordered a couple different champagne cocktails and although I can't remember the name, they were all delicious. I also really enjoyed the mojito. Now you're probably thinking to yourself, "this must be expensive." Not even. Cocktails end up being around ~$5 USD. We came in here twice and both times, the service was excellent. The hosts leading us to our tables greeted us with a huge smile and pulled our chairs out for us. Our servers were super attentive and helpful. They spoke pretty clear Spanish so I didn't have much trouble translating, but they also speak English. If you're planning a trip to CDMX, make sure to hit this place up. read more

What a cute bar. It is a champagne bar in the Condesa neighborhood- right across from the artic bar and clubs on nueva leon. I was really excited to go! The drinks were all champagne based (but they have a full bar). I am sad to say the experience was poor. Every drink took about 30-45 minutes to receive. The waiter either kept forgetting our orders or never put them in. So we always ordered in advance when he came around to us. The manager of the restaurant was nice and made sure things were kept in check and checked on my friend and I a couple times with us waiting for our drinks every time. Not sure I would go back when I go back. There are so many great bars in Condesa and this was honestly the worst service I received in all of CDMX. It made my friend and I late to our next plans but we came to try it out to see. Cute place, just wish the service was better. The couple next to us was pretty upset about service as well. read more

After hearing good things, I was thoroughly aroused at the prospect of tapas and drinks here. It was disappointing. They had a Dj who played extremely loud music for most of the evening. We asked for the music to be turned down and it seemed to get louder. Perhaps this is just "their thing" but given no one was dancing it seemed odd. The service was quite bad. Though prompt to ask what we wanted, getting the bill in particular, took an exceptionally long time. But he real problem was the food. The calamari was bland, ham and cheese balls tasted like fast food, and the other vegetarian dishes we tried were quite poor. An asparagus dish was the exception. Maybe we just hit them on a bad night. I saw a couple of fun cocktails on other tables so perhaps better for drinks? Overall would not recommend. read more

Shady business - would recommend staying away, especially to tourists. The food was just average and seemed pretty over-priced for the quality. The waiters were really pushy about us ordering more food and drink. The worst part, though, I received my credit card statement, they had added another 10% on top of our bill beyond what they said they were charging my card. I have a receipt for one amount - that I signed - and a credit card statement for significantly more. We tipped in cash, so there shouldn't have been any reason to add more charges to my card. read more

Champagne without the pretension. One of my friends in DF showed me this place, and I forever owe her. Basically this is the spot to go if you want a bar with a stupid selection of champagne (and other good drinks, too) and fun live DJs on the weekend. JAM after JAM after JAM. I´ve neve eaten here, but have come here for drinks a few times and I always enjoy it. They have a lot of champagne cocktails that I´ve had in the past and last night I tried a cucmber gin martini. It was really refreshing and smooth. Beyond the drinks, Xampaneria always has a lively crowd and good bartenders. I´ve never been late at night, but for drinks before dinner, its lively and plays music but not so much that you can´t talk. read more

This is one of my favorite bars because I love to drink prosecco and champagne. Both of these can be hard to find in Mexico, but this bar specializes in it. They usually have bottle specials on the weekends. They have small plates for food. The jamon croquettes are good. The atmosphere is fun with soft lighting, a cool bar, and a live DJ on the weekends. The place can get pretty crowded, but it's still a nice vibe. read more

Came here twice, once on Xmas eve and another time on the 29th of December. Our Xmas eve experience was better even though it was way more packed. I think it was because we sat at the bar vs the table. Drinks are reasonably priced. We didn't get food but a lot of other ppl were and the dishes looked good. Husband went with Monkey Shoulder all night for about $6 usd and I had Amores Espadín Mezcal all night (both nights). Would recommend. There's a live dj and the atmosphere is nice. Though the food was alright the service was absolutely awful. They only had one waitress working on a very busy Sunday night resulting in us having to wait for everything. We got appetizers before utensils and plates were on the table, we didn't get our entrees until after one hour after ordering and our cups were always empty.
